NWN2 AREA PREFABS

Name  Sewers Area - 2 Levels
Author  LFenris
Submitted / Updated  03-31-2009 / 04-01-2009
Category  Interior : Other
Patch  1.22
NWN2Game  NWN2:SoZ
Description
A 2 level sewer system - 2 16X16 maps. Lower level has an open tunnel end to continue downwards using the caves or
RWS Deep Chasms tilsets. No creatures are placed. There is a transition from level 0 to level 1 in place, and a
cute "scrap of paper" note at the beginning to give a rough bearing on finding it. I designed this to be played in "character" camera mode. Play it and you'll see why :)

Builders Notes:

Except for periodic "clutter" in the hallway systems, I only "defined" 2 real areas on level 0 to allow you to
tailor it to your design; the first is what I made to be a humanoid type lair area (I'm thinking Kobolds), and
the other an obvious spider lair.

I have a light setting set to make this map set very dark, requiring use of light spells or a torch- there's a
torch placed at the entrance for testing purposes. The whole ambience of the place is designed around low light settings. I'm including a copy of the importable light settings I used for your inspection/use.

Also, given that I used RWS "Deep Sewers" tilset, I noted that using camera modes other than "character" allowed
the tops of moss and cobweb placeables to be seen when zooming out- to combat this I have placed a "tileblock" on
level 0 (see screenshot) to show you how to further place additional tiles similar to this to complete the setup.
I left the rest out because once they are in place, you cant see the corridors in the toolset either :) Setting
up in this fashion also has an additional benefit- the player map and mini map are hidden from the player,
requiring a more cautious approach to exploration. Personally, I hate the map being shown to the player, hence
all this.

NOTE: You can remove these "tileblock" tiles via the toolset if you wish, I just wanted to show a system where you
can have more control over the environment.

Installation: Unpack the archive.

sewers001.mod goes in your Neverwinternights 2\modules folder.
BlackDayNightStage.DayNightStage is an environment setting you can import into other mods.
x_normal_vision.sef is an override you can use to disable low light vision for humans. This can be placed in your
Neverwinternights 2\override folder.

Credits/Requirements:

Required HAKs: (See the authors pages for builder/override versions if you wish to build with these)

RWS "Deep Environments" or (not recommended) RWS Deep Sewers.

Camb's "Placed FX Factory" components: Camb's Vines FX v1.2.1 and Camb's Placed Splatter FX v2.0

Cobwebs by Hellcow/Spajk

Required Addtional Components:

Scripted Lighting System Version 2 (SLS2) by Brendan 'Slayster' Ellis

Optional Components:

DMFI Player/DM User Package by Demetrious/DMFI Design Team

Comments:

This is my first submission of a map set, (actually my first map ever!) comments or bug submissions are most welcomed!
I was surprised to see no submissions for sewers, so wanting to be original for a prefab... Feel free to use this
as you wish. A little credit never hurts anyone, but I'm not a stickler for it either.
