The Axe of Bitter Winters was forged by the exiled ogre smith, Garddhak. Formerly the chief of his tribe, Garddhak was gravely wounded in a raid on a nearby settlement, and was cast out by his tribe as a weakling. Forced to fend for himself, Garddhak forged an axe infused with his bitter hatred for his own kind. Alas, he succumbed to the chill of winter that year before he had a chance to seek revenge against his tribe, and his craftworks were thought lost forever.
