Ever think to yourself... "Why isn't there a potion of gaseous form in this game. That sure would come in handy at times!" Well, now you can have one. Drinking the potion of gaseous form will transform your pc into a cloud of gas that will make you invulnerable to most attacks and traps, and better yet, will allow you to pass through almost ANY locked door.
For builders, it's easy to implement and can add a new dimension to your development of traps and storylines because you can easily configure any locked door to either allow or disallow passage of a pc in gaseous form through it.
The entire system consists of a couple of small scripts, one conversation, and one item. Nothing for the override folder or any haks.
A demo mod, erf, and instructions are included in the download. Enjoy!
I didn't add that in simply because the PnP rules for the potion of gaseous form say that when the pc drinks the potion, everything they're carrying becomes gaseous as well.
In a single player setting it would probably be more of a hindrance than fun to have it drop all of your equipment (unless the designer wants to force the pc into a situation where they have to choose between losing equipment or staying stuck somewhere...)
It could be added easy enough though, and now that you mention it, I'll add it in as a configurable option in an update. It might have some interesting consequences in a multiplayer situation for sure.

Cool idea. Now do you force a drop of all equipped and inventoried items, making the PC naked at the end of the potion duration? Players who might abuse this luxury would think twice before circumventing that locked door or trap if so.
The scripts from this came from NWN1, I haven't tried porting them back with the modifications I had to make to get it to work with NWN2, but I would think it should work as is (except that you'll need to possibly recreate the conversation and the potion item itself).
As far as potentially dangerous... I agree and even mention that in the documentation. This is definitely a potion that should not be placed without care and forethought by the builder, especially in a single player mod.
But if it's used judiciously, the potion could provide new avenues for builders to devise new tricks/traps... Something like a way out of a cavein, a quest to find this potion to get inside of an otherwise impassable door, etc... _________________________ "Victory is built from the ashes of your enemies." - unknown
I'm wondering, is there a way that this could be used in NWN1? I'm thinking about adding it to a mod I'm designing, which will port from NWN1 to NWN2 when they get the problems with the toolset straightened out.
