Tried to access this tonight, but can't find it on the server list. Also, it would seem the last comment was from a few months ago... is this project still being worked on? If so I've a good bit of skill at area design and knowledge of the setting, should you be wanting more help. ^_^
Uploaded pwc to ftp, it should be ready for download here tonight or in the morning. I'm pretty happy with the server so far and think it really is out of alpha testing. Please login for our beta test, check out the areas and let us know what you think.
Well I have spent quite a bit of work time on two new outdoor areas. Still at it and will have some screen shots of the new areas soon. I'm also trying to keep them fully detailed and keep the lag down. Right now the only area where I don't follow the standard building rules is in town. In town I built for looks and you wont have much combat in town. The other areas should still have a really nice look but much higher fps.
We are talking on an 8800gtx 1280 resolution, drop shadows, grass on, aa off, anti off, textures high, full view distance, full camera tilt 15 fps in town with 30-45 fps top down. A bit slow I know but its in town.
All other areas where combat occurs 25-50 fps full camera tilt (pretty good speed) and 40-100 fps top down.
I'm currently still working on scripts but having good progress.
Random Treasure is working, stores have money to buy items now. Lots of other little things being added.
The areas I have planned next are all low level
They are:
1) Family Crypt
2) Local Graveyard
3) Fire Beetle Breeding Grounds
4) Goblin Caves
I'm hoping to have these ready by this weekend and have an updated pwc file uploaded.
Fixed more bugs, personal reputation for individual pc's is working now so no hostility. Starting to add areas, npcs, dialog for the main story, quests. We are now out of Alpha Test. The PWC will be updated in a few days, the new outdoor areas have not been completed yet. It's October 2nd so I'm expecting the pwc to change around the 5th.

Hello Matt,
thank you for the little sightseeing tour around your pwc.
its not everything set up and working right now in Beta, but this might become the right mod for a great warrior, who wants to play in a different sourounding. I liked the area design, with its great nature sceneries like the high cliff waterfall or the unique smoking catapults. I can't say anything about it in the long run, but it seems to have potential to grow and develope, thats why I give this so far a 8.
Hello everyone I have been away for a while but I am still working on the server. I have not created any new areas but I have fixed 1 major bug having to do with the factions and hostile npcs. The reason is because I had the start area bypass an npc for new characters that they had to speak with before going into town, this will be working and in the correct place at the next update. You wont be able to enter town until speaking with this npc and you wont have hostile problems.
I'm fixing a crash to desktop bug with the catapult fx and once that done I will begin working on my assets like, areas and npcs.
A PW runs on a remote server. You login over the internet. You "CAN" play with dial up although you must watch you ping. A lot of people can handle a ping of 500 but anything higher and the lag is too bad. You will have to decide after connecting to a server.
To install the pwc file you unzip it into your mydocuments/nwn2/pwc folder. It's not the actual persistent world, its only a small file that has unique data on where you can walk on my server. It's so you dont walk up mountains or hills. ALL servers need a unique pwc file and you must download a unique file for each server you want to login.
They are going to add an AUTO download in a few months so you can simply click the server and it will download this file for you and install it. For now you must do it by hand. Sorry.
You can't play PW on single player you would want to download entire Modules. Those run local on your pc and in single player.
BUT with dial up you can connect to the internet and play PW. You just want to find one with under 500 ping. You would dial up and start nwn2, click multiplayer and create an on line name, then you can browse the list of servers. You will find my server in alternative game type right now but you may pick any server that has a ping you can handle playing with. Get the servers pwc file and install it, you may now login to the server you are looking at.
Hope to see you online Troyls even with dial up its possible to play roleplay and social type servers even with lag.
I was able to log in last night, 24 April, in the evening. Looks interesting so far.
I would like the thought of a quest of some form to regain life/humanity after death and becoming an undead minion. It would give a better sense of "control" over one's fate to be able to undo a bad outcome, and another method of hooking characters into the story. _________________________ I like the heart blood best.
