Actually, while the nwnhaven.com link still works, it occurs to me this entry should be taken down.
The PWC version available here is outdated and then some, and it really doesn't look like anyone from current staff is maintaining this here thing.

Well, it seems to have gone through some changes since the last comments... Anyways:
UPS:
* Some really great players for having a real good time - as long as you stick to fun RP with them, and ignore the server at large (particularly anything where character level, ability, equipment or other such mechanics crud might become a factor).
* Some pretty nicely designed outdoor areas - from an optics perspective, to be sure.
* One DM comes highly recommended, didn't see her in action, though.
DOWNS:
* Some mediocre RPers; worse yet, some mediocre RPers thinking they're good despite god-modding and other such silliness.
* Not-thought-out party-size-based experience system. Which means entirely too much of the social role-paly is grinding in the highest levelling area, with new characters either tagging along for the quick gain (level 30 in a week tops should be easily achievable if anyone wants) or getting bored out of their wits trying to level more honestly elsewhere - with solo levelling guaranteed to lead nowhere fast, slowly, or, quite possibly, at all.
* Atrocious design/balancing of levelling areas. Nothing survivable for beginning solo casters - they must tag along, and chances of finding a beginner group to do that honestly are slim at best. Nothing really suitable for levels 10ish. And high-end areas seem a bit too high-end in parts.
* Atrocious area design compounds the levelling problem. Why bother trying to RP a character working their way up honestly when a) nobody will be watching and b) you can take the fast road to level 30 without even having to ask for the most part.
* Atrocious handling of gear. Standard is OC crafting and some (but apparently, not all) uncraftable OC gear is available from (way overpriced) merchants. But apparently, through DM gifting and other such silliness, uber gear that makes MoTB crafting look like child's play for sissies is out there and server admin has clearly stated he doesn't consider this a problem that might need fixing.
* The atrocious area design seems to have been influenced by existance of uber gear, by the way.
* Not to be overusing the word, but atrocious handling of merchants. Haven't found one paying more than 150 gold for anything, but have found plenty that will not actually pay at all because their inventories are full. No warning about that problem anywhere, though I gather there's some players that would warn you if you were lucky enough to run into them.
*Some pretty lifeless and/or illogical indoor areas.
CONCLUSION
Really, the idea may be nice. And I'd really like to play more with a person or three. But not on this server as it is right now, because anything that's mechanics - and believe it or not, those will get in the way of RP eventually, because, uh, honestly, someone that doesn't need meachnics won't RP using NWN2 of all things - is currently being handled on a level that would be sweet-talked by using the term "sub-par".
I'll watch though if they manage to salvage this thing. As I said, some really great players.

Server is a complete disgrace...I'm sorry but it is. Haven has a terrible lack of many things. Dm's on the server are not very generous or helpful at all some of them just spit in your face, collecting EXP on the server is harder than getting your teeth pulled, The Gold System in the game is so terrible that full plate sells up 120 gold only.The richest players on the server are either DM's or people who suck up to the DM's and do what some may consider Obscenity's. Haven (like most other social servers) takes place on a island along with 2 other lands one of them also being an island which is called Kortuga. the other area is called Velen.
Haven has no real bad history its mostly just Velen which is a run down village filled with wolves and werewolves so nothing to special here no mystical or horrifying secrets no big bad guys nothing too much like that. this is its first problem. its not exciting its way to laid back and relaxed. Thats right this server is way to relaxed some would argue "well you can fight on the server..." well yeah you can fight in a stupid cave and fight goblins that give out a very minimal exp considering the trouble they are worth to kill. you can also fight in Kortuga and a jungle on Kortuga the monsters are not too hard except for the fact that on the server as of now you can pretty much only go to lvl20 mean while your enemies can cast hell ball and wipe out an entire party...which is lame so no cool dungeons or bosses. there's a lot of areas and you can explore a bit but the areas are not very exciting at all.
Now on to the RP...ugh...ok well...its a social server so i was not expecting much but to be perfectly honest...you have Paladins who are guards Torturing Prisoners. Yeah thats right Player character guards actually torture there prisoners! I have heard that a paladin guard has also done this which is just strange and demented. Another bad thing with the RP is that the players themselves are not very good RP'ers like one time one of my charcters was being chased down by a group of pepole cause they got mad at that charcter and one of the hunters actually had the audacity to ask me Out of charcter "where are you?))"...thats not good RP thats not even arguably good RP thats such terrible RP i think a two year could do better.
On to the EXP system...well ok so you fight goblins in a cave and when you get stronger Lizard Folk and pirates on crack who cast hell ball. well none of the monsters give a real fair amount of EXP there too much trouble for what there worth. you basically have goblins that only give out 30 or so exp and I've seen people at lvl20 who had trouble fighting them which is ridiculous...a lvl20 charcter should never have to have so much trouble in fighting a blasted army goblin and only receive 30 or so exp. and with the recent exp changes you can actually receive much LESS exp for being in a party how that makes sense I don't know...
and now for the gold...are they kidding me? at a shop full plate sells for 120 gold...you think I'm joking? I'm NOT...120 gold...holy shazbot...
and lastly the DM's. there's some DM's who care...ok theres 1 and its not Auren...The Dm's themselves are power hungry maniacs who don't really want to bother with problems they don't even really care if you have a complaint or your Out of character well being as i heard. a player was banned when he asked a DM to let him go to bed, that it was 1:45 in the morning and that he would talk to the DM tomorrow. Another player was banned for a something she did three months ago when she was supposedly handled and talked to by DM's.Another persons character was deleted just because the Administrator did not like the character Out of Charcterly. The DM's on this server do not care for there players...they just don't.
Now for my final words on this server:
THIS SERVER IS GARBAGE! PURE GARBAGE! ITS NOT FUN, THE RP IS NOT FUN, THE DM's ARENT VERY FUN, THE MODULE IS BOREING AS HELL, AND IT'S NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LEVEL UP! THIS SERVER IS SO BAD I WOULD RATHER PLAY RUNESCAPE THEN THIS SERVER. now for all those who know what runescape is and have had or tried it you know what i mean. For all the time I spent on that server i want my damn hours and minutes back it just was not worth just a complete waste of time and if any server is less fun the Runescape just like this one no one should even torture themselves to pay it. Id rather play "Tic Tac Toe" than this server! I'd rather eat puke out a donkeys rearend then play this server!
So my advice to those are thinking about pressing the download button do yourself a favor and Don't its not worth it...this server is just total trash.

really great PW, lots of fun, good RP. mostly RP, leveling not important. Went from level 1 to 11 in three days. _________________________ Damian EL
