Client file needed to test the Ruunwald proof-of-concept server.
The 1st large area for Ruunwald is complete, so we'd like to get a few testers on. Right now it's one large 32x32 area with many dungeons and quests.
We'd like some independent folks to hop on and test out the existing systems before we bulldoze ahead :)
The Concept: A "mini" MMO-style PW designed for between 5-10 regular players. Plot/RP oriented, but with plenty of casual/solo friendly content.
Ruunwald can be found in the PW Story room of Gamespy.
I'm suspending development of Ruunwald until at least 1.05. I'm a victim of the dreaded AMD XP crash issues, and it's simply too frustrating to work on the server with the game in this state.
Sorry folks. I know there were a few regulars who were having a good time. Hopefully it'll all get cleared up.
I should note to all that the level pacing of this area is pretty quick.
The initial area is designed to get players through from levels 1-5 before they move out into the larger world. After that it gets a bit harder and the pacing slows down.
Faershire Pass was the exterior I was learning the toolset with, so it does have a few rough edges.
The next big area to be opened up -- Norwind Way -- was built with YATT and of course prior experience :) I'll go back and polish up Faershire later, but at the moment we're just bug testing existing systems.
Well I was having a great time till my computer threw in the towel. Well done. I really like your dialogue writing, and your quest systems are very skick. Good quests, nice interiors, and while I really liked the layout of the exteriors, some people will likely find the texturing a little careless.
All in all, well done.
