Listen Based Text Capture is a script system that allows novice scripters to utilize text capture via the standard chat interface in their modules. With respect to capturing the text, the installation of the system is very minimal. Basic scripting is required by the end user to perform desired actions on the captured text.
The entire package is 4 scripts and 1 creature template.
As with all my publically released work, if there are errors or if you have problems, please post or contact me and I'll work to help you out and/or improve the package.

With respect to conversations, no. They are not spoken so can't be heard.
Note: If you use this across multiple areas, you should change the SetAILevel() in dmfi_list_onspawn to NORMAL. I'll provide this in the next update but I wanted to post to alert users now until I get a chance to run through QA again.

Very useful. Thank you for sharing. Very professional presentation and documentation. Scripts mostly well commented.
One comment: you may want to remind people to declare the variables (oListener, oPC) when you ask them to paste the code, under Installation.(3).
One question: Is there any chance, though I doubt it, to make this listen for text spoken in a normal conversation (i.e. grab node text and set sHear with it)?

Behind the scenes, the system creates an invisible creature that will follow you around the module and hear anything you type into the chat bar. The listener is highly optimized and uses very little CPU.
From an end user perspective, it doesn't do anything outside of what the screenshot illustrates. It allows you to easily create a system where you can capture text and then work with that text and the speaker.
It is essentially a base system that provides a functionality for builders / scripters that is otherwise not available in the standard game engine but has a proven track record for allowing very great products in NWN1.

Great work.
Link: allows your other scripts to "listen" to speech that a PC says in the chat bar. You can then do anything you want with it. (like have a door open when the PC says an exact password)
does it make characters do a listen check, and have them see text on the screen based on that? (hopefully) _________________________ __________________________________________________
