Description
Just like my CuteCleaves mod, I wondered why nobody had taken a shot at improving the primary problems with Polymorphs in NWN2. While getting kicked out of it for conversation in the OC can't be stopped, what COULD be stopped was the whole "lose all your item bonuses and just get a little bit of deflection AC to keep your horribly unenhanced poly'd attacks company while you lose your bonus spells from wis/int too" thing.

Basically wildshape and shapeshift sucked and nobody used them but to abuse plant shape with nature's avatar!

I've gone ahead and gotten around that by rewriting the scripts to tally ALL ac and saving throw bonuses from gear pre-poly then apply them as supernatural effects post-poly, as well as copying all the item properties. If this seems similar to the ShapeChange Fix by Forbidden, it is! I've built on he and Reeron's work to create something superior.

This definitely works with Reeron's spell fixes/kaedryn's/ladydesire's packages.

I'd be thrilled if people used this in their modules or PWs! Maybe there would actually be druids running around!

Code is heavily commented if you want to make any modifications, such as if you're somehow opposed to dire bears with Vorpal bites. ( assuming the druid had a vorpal scimitar on beforehand).

What you MUST be aware of: I couldnt get it to keep your bonus spells if you Rested while in wildshape ( thus cancelling the polymorph that way). Before you rest, you MUST right click yourself and hit "return to original form" or your bonus spellslots will blank themselves on rest. Sorry. Everything else works.

Edit 3/11 : works for poly self/word of changing now that I've had some sleep.

edit 3/11: Found a bug that was causing spells to be forgotten on poly exit. Fixing for later today.

edit 3/11: There, works now. Nothing more annoying than when the game works in such an irrational/obfuscated fashion that you have to use inane workarounds to accomplish simple tasks. Had to unbundle the stat mods from the polymorph and use reeron's timer to remove them separately.

If you downloaded this already, you should download again.

Haven't used this yet, but it looks great. I plan to do my first play through of the OC using this.

But I have a question for those with experience using this mod - Does this mod make the monk level less needed? I was thinking of going druid 20 to get the elder elemental shapes if the AC that this provides makes the shapes viable without a level of monk.

Found it. Is it possible to keep spells granted via item bonus slots as well?

exp: Ring gives bonus 4th level spell. Shift, spell is gone, slot is empty.

Ring gives +4 wisdom: Gives extra slot, shift, spell is saved, slot not blanked.

Possible to keep both?

Can't seem to get the spell slots to stick. Shifting still loses the memorized spell. Suggestion? (Doesn't matter if shifting into form our out.)

An usefull mod.

For Zentari2238:
There is a way but its limited becose it would only be (even more) at your way (same reason that the obs. choose elanee's badger), and you could enlarge that too (LOL). believe me its best like this.

Nice one.Is there any way though to make the shapeshifting into the natural sized dragon (i.e. the huge one).I know that the enlarge person, then shapeshift works but still...

Love it

This is most definitely worth a 10.

The only real issue I have with it is that I need to manually switch back to my non-morphic form before resting, and this issue is my fault because I have such a poor bloody memory. Other than that, this little set of scripts deserves grand amounts of praise.

I can finally play the (feral-specialised) Druid that I'm actually already quite used to playing (in the original Neverwinter Nights). I really couldn't get over how weak the Druid wildshape was in 2, and it was a real face-palm moment when I figured out why that was the case.

So this is a permanent addition to my override now unless an official fix comes along (and who knows when/if that'll happen). The only thing left to do now is wait until a few PWs twig on, then I'll finally be able to play on one of those as the Druid that I'm actually used to playing.

Good show, CU. And nice to see that you're now creating nifty things for NWN2 (as I think I remember you creating nifty things for Oblivion, back in the day when Oblivion was the CRPG to play).

Thanks for making the script! I was just complaining about the lack of this very thing while playing legends of arcadia(*and the OC)I haven't tried it yet but I definately look forward to it. If I ever host a mod you can bet its going in there =P

Even better now with the other support added

Interesting, I might have to incorporate this somehow in my mod.

Posted by Cuteunit at 2008-03-12 05:27:27
Is he? I wonder if he does it like I did it.
if it's just Forbidden's/Reeron's code then the AC and saves won't be translated.

I noticed that in Kaedrin's upcoming 1.30 he is doing this fix, minus the weapons.

The code is extremely commented if you'd like to make that change. The lines for copying weapon properties to the form's creature weapons and/or the form's equippped weapon are near the end.

Posted by AnthroPlayer at 2008-03-10 04:35:26
I'll test and respond based on how well I find this usefull, and if game-breaking.

This is an excellent idea btw, but perhaps you can do the following?

In NWN1 Druids shapeshifting gain the benefits of every item worn except the weapons they equipped unless the form they transform into uses weapons (ala shifter prestige class). As such maybe a version that takes this into account, making a copy that effects the forms in ways the original NWN1 would?

Vinchenzo made a post here.
Plz check out my entries. I'm currently making a few simple modules, designing 3 special characters, and hope to someday be good this stuff.

This is Vinchenzo, finishing his post with the following advice:
Don't use Latin improperly (Lupis means grey, Rufus is red, Canid is dog, so on.) Furries annoy me with their improper usage of such. And I'm a furry!!! Ugh...
Don't vote for Beta things unless told they are finished, unless posted specifically by the author.
Don't abuse the vote and post function, don't vote for your own/friends stuff just to get a high vote. Don't flame vote either just to be an ass.
There is a voting system for how the points are used, even I forget, but we should follow it (and tattoo it to our forehead, lol)

Yay! This game just keeps getting better and better. It's like the Firefox of CRPGs. :D

I'm thrilled to see that the concept of Forbiddens, already excellent, mod have been improved even further. Finally druids can step out from the clerics shadow, then turn around and devour them! Great synergy with the Kaedrin/Reeron combined as well.

Great job, I'm giving this a 9 until you do the other two spells. ^_^
