I ran into a problem with the GAZES special ability in NWN2. Basically the don't work. So I created a very nice gaze so that when it hits the enemy it has a chance to turn the enemy to stone. The gaze is used in the end_combat_round scipt. I made it so that the end_combat_round scipt would very it end_combat_round event. In a custom user defined event I coded a executescipt command which call this script. Works great. I include the special effect file for the gaze it goes in the overide directory and overides the holy_beam effect. Try it its cool. The creature will shoot the beams from its eyes and if a fortitude fail vs death magic then the creature turn to stone. One more thing you need to attack to the creature a integer variable call ifactor it controls the frequency of the special ability being used by the creature. Have fun!
Hi Lunamaria, I have used Gaze Petrification that comes with NWN2 it one of the few if the only one that animation is working, but as for it actually petrifing it wouldnt petrify ever when it was fire its animation. Please check not sure why it wouldnt petrify. Also does it have the petrification animation showing the characters turned to stone? I can't tell since it never petrified me. Definitely the death gaze doesnt work. Thanks for the info though appreciate it.
calva64, I use (Gaze, Petrification) on our Basilisks.
Seems fine.
Anyhow.. not knocking your work. Just letting you know that gaze and others work for me.
Hi all, I reposted the script with a much better one. There was a problem with multiple party members even worse multiple party member with multiple monsters using the gaze script. Now you should be able to have any amount of monster and party members and the script should run fine. I posted another screen shot showing two monsters with the gaze ability and the damage they wrecked on 4 adventures notice the 2 that have been turned to stone :-) Have Fun!
