Hi folks, one more thing I can't find in the Manual, I am keeping my fingers crossed that it's there, and I am just hitting the wrong sections and don't know the appropriate Aurora-Electron key words for it: In the Infinity Engine it was called: CreateVisualEffect(S:Object*,P:Location*) CreateVisualEffectObject(S:DialogFile*,O:Target*) basically, it was an action that started a visual effect to play. Is there a ga_ action similar to this? In other words, what I need, is after a certain node, there is say, a chunked death animation/visual effect played on a dying actor. Or pretty sparkles shoot up for a 'fake' spell. Or 'fake' teleport arch opens up. Or what not, ie a visual effect not associated with any real casting. Er... I hope I am making sense as to what I want! Thank you in advance for any info! _________________________ Joinable NPCs in IWD2. I'm *not* kidding!

As per my bioware forum post.....I will split the store tutorial into subsections as you suggested for version 1.6 of the manual. Thanks for all your suggestions (especially the hyperlink one :) ).

Hi, I am reposting it here from the thread (I was using V14, but I uploaded v15 and it looks much slicker. Thanks for the hyperlinks too!) The Tutorial says (right after going into renaming the conversation): Now we need to add the store itself to the area so choose the store (in this tutorial it is the Weapon Store - Medium) and paint the store underneath the storekeeper like so: and it shows a selection box around the merchant on the picture. My suggestions on making it more visible that there is something new and store-related hapenning here are: 1) Split the paragraphs 2) Introduce subtopics in the building store routine. Such as: Building a Merchant, Conversation with a merchant and ga_open_store, Making a STore Bluepring, Placing the Store in the Game. 3) Include Sunjammer's explanation re Waypoints and Stores to prevent the confusion between the Waypoints (because there are actually Shop Waypoints in the Waypoint blueprints). _________________________ Joinable NPCs in IWD2. Hi Melirinda...Was surprised by your comments as this manual has been out a while and no one ever mentioned the stores tutorial as not being correct. That said I followed the Manual and created a store with no problems. I think the waypoint that you seem to be missing is mentioned near the top of page 125 of the manual. Let me know if your problem persists. Thanks for the vote by the way :)

Hi folks, I would like to point out what looks like a weak point in your tutorial. I am trying to create a store using it, and it just doesn't work. I find that your tutorail concentrates on the easy things, like creating the conversation for the Merchant, but I can't find the info on craeting a Waypoint that seems to be a necessary thing without which the store won't open. Currently, I still can't figure out what I am doing wrong, but once I do that, I will try to get back to you and let you know what is it exactly that the tutorial was missing in my case. _________________________ Joinable NPCs in IWD2.
