Some time ago, I requested a brief recap document with the key instructions. I ended up making one for myself and I thought I'd share it here.
1) Make a movie in avi format
2) Download the free Rad video tools (converts avi to bik)
3) Open Rad video tools, select your avi video and click Bink it. Default are usually fine. Click Bink it again.
4) The resulting bik file goes in Movies folder (for gameplay) and override (so can be selected within toolset)
5) Within toolset, in module properties, select your movie for Start movie
6) Use engame script to play endmovie from convo: use name of file as parameter, without bik extension
7) No need to distribute biks in override

Hi,
I like this tutorial - I'd have given it a 10 with some better video quality and perhaps a summarized version. Over though, pretty neat, and thank you!

9.75: High mark if for nothing else than to have shown us in-game movies really do work! Thanks also for showing us how to go about it. I'm left wondering though why we've been saying all along it wasn't working? Did OEI fix in-game movies along the way?
The video tutorial is quite comprehensive, but a brief document tutorial would now also be nice as a reference recapping the steps.
Thanks for posting the actual sample mod. The start and end movies really do work smoothly as advertised (NB: note that you did not attach the Start movie to the module properties in your current version though. I had to do it myself and then the start movie played fine.)
Thanks again for this terridol. _________________________ E.C.Patterson Gaming Parents Studios

This was very helpful for me, though the video was a bit too blurry for me to actually see the text...but your verbal explanations were enough for me to understand how to add the movies to my campaign. Thank you! Now, I need to find a program to actually create the video of the game screens with. I used to have Camtasia installed years ago... _________________________

teridol:
you probably set a resolution with a wrong pixel ratio in the wmv files (eg 1.066 instead of 1.0)

This is great i thought the start movie/end movie mechanics were broken. I wonder if this could be used for chapters in a mod aswell, like a campaign that is broken up into several modules with theyr own start and end movies, has anyone tried that?
adter some experimenting i found a flaw in my process of preparing the video, I will rerelease the VTM with better quailty sometime in the next day or so.

just a little suggestion: change the codec for your tut, try X'vid because the end game script part is unreadable...

Hi thanks for posting this tut, one question:
-did you see the game screen flickering with your bink movie or is it a bug from the video recording tool?
