Note: I would like it if people could start voting now as to get the project a bit of attention and possibly a couple more hands to revise and/or make derivatives.
Thanks!
**Not Complete, still in development**
I intend to recreate the look and feel of NWN1's gui whilst updating it to utilise any new features from NWN2.
I am also accepting custom modification requests to apply to the GUI once a base build has been completed.
***Progress Report***
I have moved the progress report to a post on a blog in order to utilise custom html and javascript code in representing the progress( which will be applied shortly).
For updated status on this project's progress please link here.
***Installation Instructions***
Just extract the file contents to My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\ui\default\. Then start up NWN2, and to uninstall simply delete those extracted files. Make sure you don't overwrite any other custom gui files
Viconius's style Non-scrolling over-the-head text (NWN1 style) mod will be incorporated at some point. Thanks Viconius!
Hope you like this GUI conversion and Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Thanks to:
Cyricc: for your square map and expanded loot window mods. I hope you don't mind me incorporating it, else please email me.
Forbidden: for the liberation fonts you posted in the vault.
Taster 5 is out!
Lots of updates, hope you like the multiplayer changes to the interface and chat windows. Please note that the buddy tab was disabled in the game by default but I renabled it to fill the void when I combined the chat and server list areas.
Please let me know if there are any issues or problems. (I might have missed returning a setting to its more aesthetic value.)
New fonts, along with Store , Loot, and Inventory window modifications. Also a few changes to other window elements.
Load/Save game interface revamped
The internet browser with buddy list enabled and chat + server list windows combined.
Modified Character Sheet, Journal,Hotbar(default one),Options menu, Chat Window(Multiplayer too but not shown) Known Spells, Memorized Spells, (New)Inventory Window and Examine Window.
Well tyrfest, I will come back and finish it for you. Let me know what bits you notice need changing. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.
Actually akibara, I was hoping to put a 3D render of the items to fill up those slots as it would look alot cooler that's why they are there. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.

Lovely, A few of the hold overs do look out of place, Theres no need to waste space with the larger equipment slots than the items, Function always comes before form,

The Idea is great, and I would vote higher when it is finished. I think that you should also work on the expansions UI's as going from playing NWN2 to the expansions is also less friendly for the camera movement if you have anything to do with that.
Thanks for your continued support guys/gals. I have been very busy recently and your comments always help me to find time to make adjustments. Thanks! _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.

As someone who goes back and forth from NWN1 to NWN2, this makes the transition smooth. Doesn't look bad, either, for something with a release that's only called a "taste." I'm looking forward to future releases. - ASB

Keep up working on it, it was my greatest point of anger about nwn2, i realy disliked the new UI _________________________ So this is life, the normal way
was there a sign, all through the day
OH, also the time frame for releases are going to be once a week and during the weekend when time allows it. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.
Taster 4 is up. Tell me what you think and if anyone would like to help out in order to speed things up then send me an email through my profile page. Take care.

Well I could do that for you later if you like Armor Darks although I find it to be an improvement over the old gui, by way of evolution, so it will stay in default releases.
I'm glad they gave even more power to the community developers by allowing near full customization of the GUI.
Allows people to enhance their experience and not be locked into a monotone world. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.

by the way, you can make action bar (top of the screen) to be like in nwn. It's very simple - just make it's borders transparent (erase them). _________________________ .: Axistown.ru PW

Point taken, I shall work on bordered versions once a complete release is made and as for now it shall remain as close to the original as possible. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.

ladydesire: If you can tell me which elements you disliked in NWN1 I can see to improving or not implementing them.
Also along the same note: I am finding that modifying the portraits will be a bit tricky as I haven't figured out how to either distinguish your character from he rest in the party or remove him from the list and implement a standalone portrait of him.
What I might end up doing is simply covering the first character in the list with a new portrait with the nwn menu attached. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.
Looks interesting indeed; while I disliked some elements of the NWN1 interface, so far your implementation on NWN2 seems worth the effort you're putting into it.
Well Taster 2 is up. Please me sure to comment on them. I rather votes not be placed till its complete. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.
Thanks people I'm still working on it. I believe I shall perform incremental releases of different sections of the GUI so watch out for the new look. New character sheet looks etc.
Visconius: Thanks for the link; it will certainly be implemented once the project is sufficiently built. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.
This sounds great. I would really love to get rid of some of the clunk :) I was really excited about SlimGUI but unfortunately the borders are still too thick and stand out too much for me. I can't wait!
