I grew tired or squinting at the tiny portraits in the non-cinematic dialog. Almost everyone looked pretty much the same. So I poked around in the UI .xml files and created something that I like much better.
With this mod the portrait is much larger, (140 x 128 px vs 40x40 px) but there is less empty space at the top and sides, so the actual dialog window is only slightly taller.
I *expect* this will work with any version and the MotB expansion. It wont work with SoZ because of the additional dialog features.

Hiya!
This is again proof that simple ideas can yield great results. 10/10. :)

eleazzar,
Thank you. This is one of the most brilliant enhancements I've ever seen. I completely enhances the game! _________________________ "You take a look around and you see that the law is there only to protect power. You'll see plenty of law but what you won't see is any justice."
fardoche77, Thanks for checking on the expansions.
* There doesn't seem to be any way to change the camera angle. I agree it looks a bit odd sometimes, but i didn't change anything there. It was just too small to notice before.
* I've noticed that a few UI mods i've tried didn't work on my mac if i put things in the folder as directed. I don't know if the directions were bad, or if there are indeed differences between the Mac and Windows versions in this area.
I'm not clear on exactly the difference is between using the two "override" folders. I just put down what is working for me with v1.12.
* SoZ has the "party chat" feature where you can choose who speaks, i think, so the dialog window has some new content, and so this mod shouldn't work with SoZ as is. But I doubt it would be very hard to apply the same changes to SoZ's dialog window.
Also i'm working on adjusting the lighting. The current example tends to overexpose the characters. Unfortunately different characters react to the same lighting setup in very different ways, so it's a matter of averaging out what works best overall, which takes time.

With patch 1.22, this seems to be working in the OC, in MotB, in a few community modules, but not in SoZ. Can't see why... then again I'm no UI guru.
My only criticism would be that some portraits are distorted (see Safiya in MotB).
Of course, if you want the modification to work in the official campaigns, I believe you have to put the override in the NWN2 folder in Program files not in My documents

As nicethugbert put it! Those tiny portraits were the first thing that really annoyed me in NWN2. Thanks!
I'll check the compatibility with MotB and SoX. I have some doubts but if it can be done with the OC, it can be expanded for any module...
