This mod removes the visual effect on your characters such as Barkskin, Stoneskin, and Greater Stoneskin. If anyone has other effects they would like removed just post what they are. I currently haven't gotten far enough in the game to know of any others.

A must have to eliminate the extremely annoying and ugly buff effect skins (e.g., stonskin, barkskin)

Seems like Aznar isn't active anymore. :-(
Anyways, thank you for this. The skins and ball effects are really annoying after a few uses.
Another thing that should have been made optional by the developers in the first.
Are you going to add Tortoise Shell to your list? It has an annoying skin effect as well.

Thanks for the handy mod. I was beginning to wonder what on earth all these clothes my characters were wearing looked like.
Kinda stylish, as it turns out.

Many thanks to you Aznar.. I'm an avid Druid player and hence use most of the 'skin'-spells very often!! As I've also installed Fenrils beautiful heads, I can enjoy them much more often now :P!! ~ yeah.. now juz "Tortoise Shell" is missing n I hope for an update of your pack soon!! _________________________ Cyphre's Animal Companion Pack

Great job dude. Stoneskin can finally find it's way into my spellbook.

This is an update on my previous post...removing the tortoise shell effect is easily done by copying any of the ".sef" files in your "NoEffectsVer1.1" folder and renaming it "sp_tortoise_shell.sef". I suggest officially updating this mod to remove the effect. Gaan seems to love throwing that spell around, and it angered me every time he cast it on my awesome looking meticulously designed character.
For those who may be curious, the default file is located in your game directory's "data" folder in the "NWN2_VFX.zip" file, inside the "FX_Battle" subfolder. You don't need to worry about the default file though, I was just trying to locate it so that I could make sure the file names matched up so that the override would work.
Looking back on it, I could have saved lots of time and effort by just making an educated guess and creating an override file named "sp_tortoise_shell.sef" and then starting up the game to see if that removed the visual effect.

Would get a 10 if it removed all skin effects. There is one in particular that has been bothering me; the effect for the spell "Tortoise Shell". I have been trying to find its SEF file in the zipped visual effects directories so that I can create an override duplicate with a "blank" visual effect, but this file seems really tricky to find. If anyone knows, or can figure out, how to find the file, do say something. Oh yeah, one other thing...this probably also removes the effects from creatures that use it through scripted means so that they can have special appearances (for example, custom "golems" using the stoneskin effect), but that aspect doesn't bother me personally.
Stuff like this is great and much appreciated, but one thing I haven't seen anyone do that's similar to this, is a mod that removes the annoyingly excessive "dripping" effect of some weapons that do elemental damage and such (acid, fire, lightning, etc). It's overdone, and taxing on the hardware besides.
I'd much rather the weapons either show a more more subtle effect indicating the extra elemental damage, or even no effect at all.

It doesnt matter if its inside any other folders as long as its in Override. _________________________ I believe in science and that science can explain everything,
Because God has made it all work in such a beautiful way.
I have a question for you: do i need to cut/paste the actual "noeffects1.1" folder and drop it inside my "override" folder, OR do I need to cut/paste the list of files INSIDE your "noeffects1.1" folder and place THOSE inside my "override" folder?
Could you add the "evil/negative" aura disable ?( that pulsing black tentacle thing ) fx effect what pops on weapons.. i just cant find it to remove it myself and it drives me nuts

I'm with moondiggidy. It's just the fact that it covers the whole model which bothers me. I recall that in Baldur's Gate I and II, it was just the skin itself that was visually affected. I would also much prefer that in NWN2.
My question is: Is it possible to make the character's "skin" the stone or bark texture, and not the whole model? I for one like the skinning texture, but am annoyed that armor and all are affected by the spell. (Unless buried in spell descriptions this is the case, then I shall rest mine)

Well, I know what he means by "rotating electric blue spheres" and it is, by far, The most awful bit of "we must rush this out right now no matter what it looks like or that it has Nothing, at All, to do with the spell itself whatsoever...."
Mirror Image.
Instead of multiple images looking EXACTLY like the char, and All effects, in every way... it is little spinning balls that I will Not cast simply as a matter of principle until it is fixed visually.
Is it possible to remove magic weapon visual effects? (flames, sparks, etc)? If it was just a few occasional tiny sparks/flames I wouldn't mind so much, but the default visuals are borderline obtrusive.

A fresh update for the mod, knocking out the buff ball effects and spiderskin. I'll take a look at the higher level spells as I get to them and knock some of them out... from what I've seen so far some are just as annoying while others are annoying but short.
