This will overide the red dragon with a base silver dragon and allow you to tint the dragon fully to differant types saving on textures. Alot people think the tinting is not good enough so I figure I get these out so people can make up there minds one way or the other. Updated to add more choices and fix errors, much nicer now. Updated to hakpak so you can just drop it into you hak folder and connect to you specific module. :)
damm I forgot to update it with the non-overwrite version and it sitting on my computer ready to go too LOL I get it up ASAP sorry I got working on other projects. :)
Update coming to make it hakpak form that does not overwrite obsidians dragon and is compatible with expansion sorry for the delay.

Put the hak file into your hak folder
Open your module go under view -module properties. Click properties along the right side and scroll up you see haks. Click add then click filename button and find tinted dragons in you hak folder a warning will popup just click ok and you all set it replaces the red dragon but now that we have the 3dsmax export plugins I should have it so it does not overwrite the red dragon soon. Hope this helps. Email me if you have troubles.

There a problem with the toolset with recognizing hak in document area. It best to place them under the install hak folder. So go to where you installed NWN2 you see another hak folder there. Place the hak file there, until you hear about patch from OB. to fix this. Hope this helps :)

Nice work, but this isn't working for me. Dunno what I'm doing wrong. I put the FulltintDragon.hak file in my My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\hak folder. Then in the Module Properties I added the file to the Hak Paks variable, but when I click OK it says in can't find the file in the Program Files NWN2 hak folder. And when I try placing a dragon, I get the same old red dragon.
Well ya when DLA get there tools out to us and we all see what we can do, but NWN2 need prob. two more patches to get into a working system with Hakpacks and more CC for us. Here hoping time goes by fast. :)

This is a much needed addition to NWN2. Thanks.
BTW - do you have any upcoming plans for a few critter models for NWN2? Methinks we really need a few wasps, etc ;)
Thanks for the votes and comments.
Glad you like the pictures Vallis. The old one were bad I agree, but that happens when your excited to get stuff up on the vault that you hurry and slap some examples together alittle to fast. So I hope other people use these and we see some more examples of them in other areas of NWN2. :)
This is like night and day compared to the original pictures.

A basic, yet genuis idea. Bravo. Definately going to use this in any mods I make. Hopefully it can be improved upon, but as it stands it is still quite impressive. _________________________ Related Works:
Thank you, well I suspect there will be new models added over time and thats great because combine that with tinting and you have alot more unique/wider selection of looks for dragons. Useing say a differant model to represent a younger age etc.. I think they look good in the game too, but we have to wait and see. Ya switching them over to hakpak is most definitely top of list and looks good with the tool guys already getting import/export tools for models doing beta tests now. That did shock me how fast(but in a good way) The Gryphon on the neverwinter forums was making good tintible weapons, I suggest you bug The Gryphon to release though. I did hehe :)

Excellent job. Good to see that we can already have dragons of different colors. D&D purists will, of course, want new models for each dragon, but making the models tintable is a very good step. Though it's hard to say what the tinting will look like in game compared to the standard dragons, in the toolset it looks good. Hopefully you can put this into a hak file as soon as the game is released, so we don't end up changing every red dragon in the game to a white one. Anyway, keep up the good work!
Though were from rushed pictures and are extreme settings, the updated version give you more options, download the files and play around with it yourself before you decide. I think I have update new pictures that show off the tinting better. :)
