Adds blood splatter to the ground during combat which slowly shrinks and then disappears after time. The splats roll along the ground no matter the lay of the land (they are projections). If the engine ever supports projection effects FADING after time instead of shrinking, then I'll update to that. Still looks pretty sweet, though.
The splats match the color of blood from the creature or PC hit (red for most humanoid, green for spiders, etc, etc).
There are two versions: the hak version (more professional) and the override version (so that you can use it like Unobtrustive Spell Buffs and have it active in your override directory whether the module uses it or not).
Install Instructions FOR HAK VERSION
1: Extract the "cambs_combat_splat.hak" file into your "hak" directory (.../My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/hak).
2: If you are a builder and you want this hak required for your module then assign it via the Module Properties and be sure to give players access to the required hak.
Install Instructions FOR OVERRIDE VERSION
1: Extract the contents of the rar into a place on your drive where you can find them easily.
2: Copy the entire "Camb's Combat Splat" folder into your Override Folder (the one within your My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/Override)
NOTE: Please note that professional Custom Content creators are shying away from releasing "override only" versions of their content. Why? Because things in the override folder affect your updates (you need to pull them out when patching) and mess with things that could ruin your gaming experience on modules not designed to use them. Most custom content creators name their override files something to prevent this from happening too often, but it is still a risk.
Version 1.1 Fixes a texture blending issue with black blood (previous version looks like it has alpha switched). Replaces only the two black blood SEF files, nothing else.
PS: Yes, this package still works with MotB and will probably continue to work for a long long time (unless OEI changes what FX blood uses, which is unlikely) :)

This is groundbreaking is it not? Why give any score less than 10?

Been in my override for a long time.
Nice work.

hiya, I'm using the override version and i Noticed
contains small bug: mis-reference in the Yellow .sef files; fix, simply re-reference 'fx_yl_splt_proj03.dds' to 'fx_yellow_proj99.DDS'
I noticed this when slaying Shadow Umber Hulks in Shadow Mulsantir, 2D Missing Texture. made the above change it went away.
Thanks for the mod, makes me reflect a bit after each battle _________________________ All the world's a stage ... but so what.

This is a fun little mod, makes the game slightly more realistic and I like being able to really see how many enemies I killed at the end. :)

I was wrong. Your mod does NOT crash the game, it was something else. After reinstallation of NWN2 and MOTB, the game never crash any more.

Thanks Camb, I love the realistic feeling of a bloody battlefield. Feel like I'm playing Myth - The Fallen Lords again.
Your mod works well in single modules, but in campaigns like the OC, it may crash the game during module transition (not area transition), especially from Merchant Quarter to The Dock and vice versa. The error message is along the line of "Buffer overflow, application must stop...". Take it out of override folder, no more crashes. Is it just me, or it's a common problem?

This is great stuff. Hehe, now all I want is blood dripping from my sword and we are all set to go, just kidding. Thankyou.

This combat splatter pack is excellent. Very nice work.

Surely a must-have and groundbreaking in its own right. I wish creatures would leave little drops while moving if they are bleeding but this is the close you can get. Stupendious work Camb. _________________________ Khalidine - A Unique playing experience for everyone

Adds a slight touch of realism and additional gruesomeness to combat with all a manner of beings that have blood. A perfect 10 in my opinion. _________________________ @===============================================@
Vinchenzo made a post here.
Plz check out my entries. I'm currently making a few simple modules, designing 3 special characters, and hope to someday be good this stuff.
This is Vinchenzo, finishing his post with the following advice:
Don't use Latin improperly (Lupis means grey, Rufus is red, Canid is dog, so on.) Furries annoy me with their improper usage of such. And I'm a furry!!! Ugh...
Don't vote for Beta things unless told they are finished, unless posted specifically by the author.
Don't abuse the vote and post function, don't vote for your own/friends stuff just to get a high vote. Don't flame vote either just to be an ass.
There is a voting system for how the points are used, even I forget, but we should follow it (and tattoo it to our forehead, lol)
@===============================================@
Not quite sure what "control the fading" means. I don't care about the vote being a 10,9,8 or 1, but I am curious about what that means ;)
If that means some sort of GUI popup or code in which you can control a slider with, that's not part of this hak. This hak replaces blood FX. FX have no in-game controls.
Will this only work if a module supports/incorporates the hak? Or will it work in any module/OC?
Thanks.
