This is a modification of the special effect for the spell stoneskin. This modification removes the cloud of dust and dirt falling from the object and just leaves the stony texture. It is excellent for making statues.
Place the file in your override or in your campaign folder, or associate the .hak file with your module to gain access to the visual effect. In scripting you can use the function EffectNWN2SpecialEffectFile() to access the effect. You can also apply the effect to objects in the toolset under the "properties tab" using the "Appearance (special effect)" field.
One other thing. If you just want to make the stone golem, in the toolset, pull up a clay golem and in the properties tab, look in the Appearance (visual effect) field and choose "stone statue". _________________________ The Wizard's Apprentice - A single player adventure for spellcasters guaranteed to rumple your robes and warp your wand!
Sorry for not checking back for awhile. In reality, I didn't expect anyone to use this. I just posted it because someone asked me to.
To use it you have a few options.
1) If you are making a campaign, then just copy the .sef file directly into the campaign.
2) If you are making a module, you will have to make a .hak file with one of the .hak editors, or you can put it in override.
Once you have it in your module, you simply have to reference it with the EffectNWN2VisualEffectFile() function (I don't have the toolset in front of me, but I think that's the right one.)
If you have difficulty still, then PM me on the bioware boards and I can help you out some more. If you need a script, I culd send you the one I use. _________________________ The Wizard's Apprentice - A single player adventure for spellcasters guaranteed to rumple your robes and warp your wand!
That looks incredibly useful - but a brief newbie question - how do I get it into a module I'm building? _________________________ "Cor- a Beholder, Just think of the XP!"; Dave the Barbarian in the Demonweb pits, long ago.
