Killer Pub People v1.0 by Axe
===============================
This package includes .erf and .hak versions of the system which each contain blueprints for 12 creatures, a placeable, and a conversation, as well as several scripts. There is also a demo module called KPP_v1_0_Demo_Module.mod included in the zip file (put it into your /modules folder to try it out). Installing the system into your module will give you the ability to easily populate a tavern with bartenders, barmaids, and patrons all pre-scripted to bring life to your drinking establishments. They will interact with each other as well as with PCs. Barmaids walk around serving the patrons and chatting with the bartenders when they aren't busy. Patrons come and go automatically to stay and have a few drinks and chat with each other. Although there are blueprints provided for bouncers, drunks, and hostesses, these three NPCs are only partially integrated and non-functional in KPP v1.0 (their six blueprints can be safely deleted).
The system is multi-player and PW friendly! It totally shuts down when there are no PCs around so it contributes nothing at all to lag, and it saves your having to write cleanup scripts for your tavern areas. The barmaids are fully capable of servicing PCs and even parties of PCs (one at a time of course). They automatically service anybody sitting in a specially marked "barstool" placeable, and also respond to voice commands. Hooking a store to them is as easy as painting one down!!
Requirements.
--------------
Killer Pub People should work with any expansion pack combination including no expansion packs, but you need to patch your game up to v1.69 or later to use this package. The KPP system is compatible with all custom content you may add to your module and operates independently of all other scripting systems.
User's Guide.
--------------
The included Readme file is a User's Guide describing all the details you will need to know about in order to install and use KPP in your modules.
3-22-2009 Added Dialog Sets Download
Dialog Sets for KPP v1.0 This package contains instructions about how to make dialog sets for your KPP NPCs along with a couple of script templates. This will let you take control over what KPP NPCs say based on what area they are in. So if you want a rich bar and a poor bar you can have the KPP NPCs saying different things.
You MUST read the Dialog Sets Readme file included in the download if you want to use this.
Implementing this and not using it will not change the default v1.0 behavior at all.

This is great, just great. When I'm building a module, one of the last things I do is add the town "flavor". Now I don't have to worry about it. Thanks!

Don't know why I didn't vote on this before.

Good stuff mate. This'll add a bit of colour to my mod. _________________________ Stuff I've done.

awesome mate, well since i´m building an underdark city mod, i could say you could leave the humans out lol. So what´s a con for you could be a plus for someone else, anyway it´s configurable so that´s no problem. You get a ten when the drunk, bouncer and hostess are completely implemeted too but still very nice stuff, thanks Axe!

Excellent work :) I would leave the Drow appearances out but it's easy enough to change

I am adding this to Vuldrick's base mod as someone mentioned there.
.. and vote of course.

DAYUM YOU AXE, DAYUM YOU!!!! I've been working on barmaid, patron, social, tavern guard scripts since the beginning of this year - heck you even gave me advice on them ... and now you release this!
I was happy happy happy with my scripts ... until I saw yours :(
Great work man, seriously, great work.

I'll vote after I try it out - but I have really liked everything I have tried from you. This looks to be no exception!

Hi Axe!
Just finished taking a look at this and have a suggestion or two. Perhaps they're already in your version, I only played the demo to watch it in action.
1 - Allow random clothing. This would obviously have to be made and use a numeric tag sequence CLOTH001 as an example. This way, KPP NPCs can be naked and when created, randomly generate clothing and equip them. This allows more variety.
2 - Floating Text on NPCs should only be displayed if the PC in question is close enough. Perhaps this is already available but no PC should be able to hear/read what an NPC has to say when they're on the other end of the common room.
3 - I suppose with the waitress opening up a trade window, the script is easy to modify to allow a conversation to trigger instead?
4 - KPP NPCs that just walk around the room due to finding no seats, should stop when in range with another KPP NPC walking around, triggering floating text conversations.
6 - I would love to see another addition for town/city poulation. I used a butchered version of a random NPC spawn system to populate Almraiven. They spawned in with random clothing and walked from their spawn point to an exit point. If they were bumped by another NPC or the player, they offered a thing or two to say, then left the area. These NPCs were nothing more then background NPCs (no real conversations, just random speak strings when clicked on) but it saved the city streets from being empty.
Thanks for this script set!
FP!

I had been using a similar system which was made about four years ago, but this one is vastly superior, both in scripting elegance and resource management. I was never sure that the old system was properly shutting down its functions when no players were present in the pub. I had the NPCs speaking lines of custom dialogue that pertained to the characters and current events in my PW to make the pub chatter a bit more interesting, and I hope that can be done here without too much trouble. But based on what I've seen so far, this is just stupendous. Thank you for another winner, Axe! _________________________ Realms Of Destiny PW

Ok, so pretty much anything made available by Axe_Murderer is a 10 vote from me. This one is another piece of original, quality work, and it will probably be incorporated, in one form or another, into a few of the inns in my PW.
Thanks for posting this!

I give this a 50!
I am officially having Axe's babies, whom will be uploaded to the Vault as soon as they're potty-trained and can script.

Looks good Axe_Murderer. I promise to check it out and come back to vote.
One tiny thing, that made me smile: In your above description, you say "The barmaids are fully capable of servicing PCs and even parties of PCs (one at a time of course). They automatically service anybody sitting in a specially marked "barstool" placeable,..."
You might want to change that to 'serve'. Many people consider a woman 'servicing' a man to mean . . . uh . . . you know . . . gettin' it own! (end Ricky Bobby voiceover)
I have and enjoy your other Killer systems, and want to thank you for all the help you've given and all the cool stuff you've done for the players of NWN.
Be back in a bit, to vote.
