1-18-04 added highres textures, studded & quilted __________ And I'm fighting with clipping issues! Yes a robe can leave your armor exposed but then you run into the same old clipping problems danglymesh skirts had. The only real difference is you get elastic animation instead of jiggle on the cloth. Skinmesh can't react to wind, personally I think you need some of both effects to get decent fabric._____________ANYWAY, where was I, Oh yeah...I know a lot of people want surcoat type items. And this is what I cooked up so far. A knee length belted surcoat, and a herald's tabard.
I made the human models only. I had NWmax kick out the other races but I didn't tweak them individually. You can test them out for yourselves but here are my findings: The tabard fits over many armors (cowlneck ones look best). The surcoat looks very good standing and walking, and very decent running and fighting. I looks bad sitting & bending over low. Basically this is because I chose not to put in a full lining and your character has no butt. Adding a full lining would help only a very eensy little BUT the poly count would just skyrocket. So virtually no benefit - the lining was voted out. Allowing a visible pelvis creates many huge clipping problems with nearly every animation, which would mean I'd have to puff out the skirt quite a lot (hoop skirts ;0 ) and it would look crappy standing, walking, fighting, and running and semi crappy sitting, resting and bending over. Also vetoed.
Notes: I choose the Dragon and Unicorn Logos (I figured you need two factions minimum), Get the texture templates for making your own logos here: Surcoat & Tabard Texture Templates __________ 2da is set up as an add on for my CLOTHES HORSE HotU Padded , but this hak can be use totally alone too.

Got a quick question for you.
I love your work I have downloaded almost every piece of
work you've done. BUT I have been looking for some time now for crusader armor. you know the Surcoat Red cross in the white backround. I would do this myself but I would screw it up some how, and I want the quality of it to be good, so if you ever have spare time could you make this armor. thanks for reading my post.

Lisa, first off excellent job on this. It's a small thing in comparison to some of your other projects but it will add a lot of options for so many builders.
Now, do you think it would be possible to put an image in only one quarter of the four-quarter surcoat or in two of the quarter�s diagonal to each other? Or would the image be too small? It would be a simpler image just a plain Maltese cross, I'm not asking you to do it because I know how inundated you are just asking if its possible?

I really like the four parts surcoats, this will gve more variety, and I have some suggestions for logos too, dont know if you like em, A sword stuck in the headhole of a crown, to make a royal surcoat, and one for undead, with a belt marked with skulls, and maybe some sort of death symbol as logo, maybe two crossed sythes or some unholy symbol as a logo, a skull wont look good I think. Dont know if there are any symbols linked to death. Dont know if this is possible but can you make swords to put on that belt in the belt slot? I really love this update, can anyone tell me a server that uses this?

I think that a few extra "standard" choices should be available too. I would have to say that the Logos used on your flags would be most beneficial for keeping consistent.

OMG! Ooh, ooh, more medieval please! I've downloaded you're updated placeables, clotheshorse and holdables for HOTU. I would like everyone to know that I have SOU and HOTU and they all work fine together. May I please suggest griffons and pegasus(si?) Those ideas seem "generic" enough to hold up with your Unicorn and Dragon, so anyone would be able to use them. The fleur-de-lis is another great idea. What about the beautiful images you used on your flags? Thanx so much for making the toolset fun again... :D
