Originally created some 6 months ago for our pw, Montlethia Under Siege, these models got some use before sitting on our drives. However, not wanting some good things go to waste, we are releasing a ton of custom content over the next week or more and this is the second. These custom, dynamic gnolls are based off their own model which uses a human base. TO USE: add the hak to the module in question, go to the creature palette and create a creature or edit copy an existing one. Choose appearance EA_gnoll. Go to the appearance tab and use the drop down menus to select the gnoll parts and change color as needed. NOTE Due to the gnolls legs, it is advised to not put on armor that has shins and legs with it. Yes, this will mean you will have to create some easy custom armor for them. These dynamic gnolls can wear any and all items a normal race can including any custom content items so long as theyve been run through the armory first. They can also be used for dynamic races.
ADDITIONAL INFO: At the time these models were built and run through the armory, HOTU had not been released, and subsequently, the new robes. This means that they will need to be run through the armory and perhaps a small patch released by some nice community member to add robe functionality. To add to it, I have long since lost the *.ini file for the armory for these creatures, so if anyone knows how to get or construct a new one, I hope its not a bother. Thanks, and I do hope this eventually gets done as this is really the only thing theyre missing.

I will also be using this to make some unique enemies in my SP module. For my uses so far, it's working well.
I haven't really looked into making the PC a gnoll, but I suppose it could be done through a script, setting the appearance type of each of the player's body parts (after the PC is set to have the general appearance type of the dynamic gnoll).
This wouldn't happen to work with the oriental armor now would it? If it does I will vote and give it a high vote as well. This is perfect for Kitsune. _________________________ ALL SHALL FALL IN GLORIOUS DEATH!!!!!

Has anyone had a chance to address the Alpha bug with the gnolls? I love them, but the translucent armour looks, well, odd. :D _________________________ Shadow Weaver

EA_gnoll is not appearing on the menu for me either, NWN v1.62, no expansions. I presume you add the hak via Edit, Midule Properties, Custom Content? I really want to use this and its starting to grate that I can't do so.

I'm having the same problem as 'confused' It's the only hak loaded into a test area and I can't seem to find the models in the appearance drop down menu. Version 1.62 of the original game with no expansion packs.

Maybe you have some other HAK with the appearance.2DA and races.2da in it. Make sure it has highest priority and look for EA_Gnoll in the list.- Wolfsong

Nice.
I'm working on some changes for my HAK. Already fixed new textures for all the normal chests that shows the character skin so it's now the same texture as the bare body. Removed all pelvises so that no matter what the armor has set it will be the normal pelvis. Doing the same with the shins and feet. And some other changes. I'll release the final stuff in an updated version of my custom races HAK for LWP.- Wolfsong

"I noticed there are lots of extra chest models in this HAK. What other HAK is it made to work together with?"
They can be used with the Montlethia haks found here on the vault. They were originally made for use with our pw, Montlethia Under Siege, so I ran them through the armory to use the custom content and armor that was in our haks. Feel free to remove/change anything as you see fit.

I have been using these on my world for about 4 months now. They are an outstanding addition to any module. If you want to check them out, log into our server and ask for a tour. losw.co.nr for server details.

Fantastic work!
One (minor) bug, though: The alpha channels for metal parts seem to be wrong, they are transparent instead of reflective (this applies only to armor and is NOT noticeable in the toolset, only in game).
