****Filename: SS_Grondol**** CURRENT VERSION: v1 ****This is the 6th tileset in the superset series. I've been wanting to make a superset version of my Deadlands tileset for some time now, so here you have it. What started out as a polishing of Aztec Empires turned into a whole new beasty. It is 100% compatible for use with all of my other tilesets. It includes only 256x256 TGA texture files. Like all of my material, this tileset is designed for the descriminating PW builder seeking the greatest amount of buildable options in a tileset. Unpacked, the file size is near 250mb, and contains over 2100 tiles and 460 placeable groups.
Model tileset credits: Yumi Chan's water and Island, Mendeku's fortress walls and ravines, Coulisfu's oriental models (Castles, Ships, Housing), the DLA team's trees, Lord Sullivan's pyramid, Galleons (Shazwoller), Caravels, Airships and Longships (Some_ux), Na (dc_villages marsh and other features), Little Baron's Elven Portal, Adam Miller's & Lucifer Church's Hills, Bloodmonkey's Mountains, Tom_Banjo's Swamp, Daemogorgon's Ruined Castle, Gribo's Drawbridge, Phii's edited walkmeshes and many of MG Skaggs city models. If your content is contained within and you don't see your name here, please leave a note.
You can use any collection of superset tilesets together and never have to edit a 2da.**** Update: Fixed broken grass texture associated with pit stairs.

The water under plateau bridge is as light as the city water, but the bridge can't be put into city water. It looks dumb when theres stripe of light water in dark water. Great tileset without this kind of things.

From the screen shots it makes a awsome gothic city. _________________________ Yes I am made out of rocks. Now go do something.
other crossing ability I would like :
- raised terrain to plateau hills & mountains
- streams/rivers
- streams going thru the cities
- if I paint bambou between two water areas, my water shrinks a lot because small slopes surrounds the bambou, and grass surrounds the slopes. I had imagined some of the bambou would bath in both the waters, or that the water would lick the bambou slopes.
- country bridge don't go over water, shallow or sand ?
- how can I jump over a ravine ?
I also fear Lodrezzon is not longer around, or he is buzzy with building his PW and no longer work on his tilesets. It's sad, because they are extremely amazing, very good textures and so.
Yet, to make it perfect I would wish for the following :
- better organised palettes, where terrain and crossers don't mix, where building groups/features and not at the same place as ramps or such feature that 'paint the ground'
- better naming too : cliff tower don't go on or draw cliff, they draw hills, same for Cliff Stairs. It's hard to see the difference between hills1, hills2, and raised terrain with hill slope applied, etc. You have to know that the fallen tree is actually a bridge between plateau, etc.
- more crossing ability :
-- why "streams", "creeks", "drybeds" can't end up into "water", "shallow" or "sand" ? Streams going out of mountain/plateau water turning into waterfall in the slopes, etc.
-- why plateau cliff can't end vertically (whatever I do there is always some "plateau" grass between the slope to the country level and the cliff.
-- bog licking hills etc.
Also I didn't manage to place the Swamp Bog Exit :(
I wish someone could take those sets and improve them, they are very very powerful already, but they lack some of the DOA Builder Base flexibility.

This is fabulous... huge and yes somewhat laggy painting large groups, but no way around that if you want to have and eat your cake. I ultimately cannot bring myself to use it however due to one deeply frustrating element... the trees don't fade. Players hate their view being obstructed like this and it makes editing more tedious, too. Looking at the dates on these haks it looks like there was a huge flurry of activity from the maker, then nothing. You still around Lodrezzon?

Overall I think your tilesets are nice work graphically, however I find them extremely frustrating to use as it takes so long to paint tiles... I'm using a 3.0 GHz P4 HT w/ 1024 MB RAM and a Radeon 9700 128MB... and some tiles take like 10 seconds to paint. Ridiculous.

I love you're work, but i could really use some city interiors matching the textures on each of you're tilesets. I dont think that the original interior tileset fits that well. If you ever make the interiors for these sets, i would die a happy man.... :) keep up the good work, really looking forward to you're dungeon tile.

Yes hes busy doing the Dungeon_SS atm so were all going too have too wait and see what his next plan is,btw lod would you have a look at the "Sacral Sphere" by PVL of GoldenAxeGames2004 as it looks quite nice and consider adding it too your Dungeon_SS perhaps.

@ Iradiel
I read on the Circle of majestics that Lod is working Superset Dungeon Interior at the time.

WOW ! This set is my favorite tileset of yours so far. It has everything ! One small thing though, It may just be me, but the chasm stairs down model is missing a bit of texture on it, on the top near the two poles. Despite that, everything looks AWESOME !
Posted by Iradiel ( 194.74.xxx.xxx ) at 2004-05-25 21:03:00
Man, I tell you, it has been a relief to haver your supersets...
I would definitively advise the CEP team against including any tilesets, since yours are already the solution for any PW!
Would you like a suggestion? How about an INTERIORS SuperSet? It would be great to have all the interiors in one tileset with all the same appearance...
(if you like the idea, please include tiles without the superfluous decoration (I would like to have there some Inn room with an option without any table on it!))
Keep up the good work!
