Tony K's great Henchman Inventory & Battle AI mod repackaged in a Mac OS X installer.
This highly configurable modification of NWN improves the intelligence of friends and foes, both inside and outside battle. Since its original release in July 2002, it has been tested by hundreds of people in the BioWare community. The mod works with or without the expansions. You can use it to play the Official, SoU, and HotU campaigns, as well as compatible fan-made modules. Prominent features are: 1) Improved battle tactics for all NPCs, especially with regard to weapon switching and spell casting; 2) Random roaming capability for monsters in the module; 3) Access to the inventory of familiars and animal companions; 4) Improved yet still legal feats and spell selection for the six standard OC henchmen; 5) More useful behavior (buffing, item-gathering) for henchmen outside battle. Most features can be turned on or off during installation.
New for v1.04: The mod now requires NWN v1.64 or later for all installs. Added support for parry. Smaller compiled scripts from updated NWN includes and using Torlack's compilier. Enable healing of bleeding PC's. Creatures will still use ranged weapons when nearby target is above or below them. Location of summoning spell will be as close to known enemy location as possible. Remove duplicate disarm trap attempts (problem started with NWN 1.64). Monsters can optionally summon animal companions and familiars if they have the feats. Scouting will not jump to target location and now has a shorter range. Scouting can now be done with all associate types. Associate settings are stored on the PC and restored when associate is summoned again. Familiars updated with changes in HoTU and feat and skill selection changed in some cases. I am having a small trouble on the inventory management of familiar. When a familiar is killed, items in it's inventory are dropped. But if I unsummmon a familiar (or a familiar is automatically unsummmoned due to leveling up, module script, etc.) all the items are lost. Is this a known issue?

I've been runing this Henchman mod for Mac by Tony K & jonmichaels with three different characters through NWN 1 OC already, and attempting tonight with SoU.
Not only I didn't find one glitch, but it's a fantastic mod. It makes you really able to play with a smart henchy by your side, managing his inventory and almost everything else you're capable to do yourself as the lead player, including reading spells, using wands and robs, and so on. Unbelievable.
This hak gives you also so many possibilities through the dialog menu and sub-menus to precisely adjust your henchy's behavior according to your own game style.
And... it works.
Simply amazing.

when is the next update for 1.66 patch? _________________________ I've been playing D&D since 1984 =-| wow it has come a long way since pencil & paper =-)
Thanks a lot for this zip file. Unfortunately I'm not able to get the 2da file, as it's giving me an error:
The file type you have requested (2da) is invalid.
If the module have overridden the nw_ch_ac? and nw_c2_default? scripts then the Hench AI cant do very much. Open up the modules in the toolset to check. Even if they do not override the scripts, the henchmen options (weapons, spellcasting, traps and items, etc.) are not available. I might do something in the future to make these options available in many cases.
I have sent an email to Jon about the update but havent got a response back yet.
Is there any way to get this mod to work in user made modules? I've recently played "Sunless Citadel," "Cave of Songs," Honor Among Thieves," and "In Search of Adventure," all with this mod installed. None of them allowed for any of the enhancements in this mod.
Also, will there be an update of the Mac version to match the recently updated PX/Linux version?
Version 1.04 of the Henchman Inventory & Battle AI works fine with version 1.65 of NWN.

Does this work with 1.65?

Brilliant script hacking, standing on the shoulders of giants.

This rocks! I am playing a ranger in HotU and I've added many items to his panther familar's inventory. He does as much if not more damage than my ranger and is just as hard to hit.
The improved enemy A.I. makes going through HotU a challenge again.
i didn't see this mentioned anywhere but there is a minor typo/bug in the henchmen dialoge. (i'm paraphrasing)
me: i want you to use your ranged weapons
hench: okay i will still use my spells and then rush in with my melee weapons
now they do actually use their ranged weapons but the first time through i was kinda confused. i'm encountered it while playing "The Aielund Trilogy" by Savant in all 3 acts. he said i should tell you about it.Eschew Obfuscation _________________________ Eschew Obfuscation

Download the ZIP file. Decompress it if you need to. Double-click the disk image to mount it. Double-click the file "Henchman Inventory & Battle AI.mpkg" to run the installer.
What version of NWN are you using & what expansion packs? Your version should be at 1.62. What campaign are you playing? Sometimes doing a critical rebuild will fix some of these issues. Also, does the NWN program crash or are you getting too many instruction (TMI) errors?

I recently downloaded this mod, which seems to work great. I really love all the new options. One problem - the game now crashes about every 5 min., which makes it not so great. Any tips (new G5, Panther) or should I just delete the override file and restore the old saved version?
Thanks,
Tim Eagan

Thanks great mac port, the installer is fine and very clear with all the istall options. I also prefer it let me do the final copy myself :-).
I'd wish more options to increase difficulty level on the fly (and decrease after if necessary).
