While looking through some tilesets on NWN vault I found one which looks very interesting-namely that of an Arabian City created by MGSkaggs.
Buildings made by MGSkaggs under the no-expansions NWN version are very realistic and reflect the appearance of Arabian City buildings architecture as they show flat roofs or buildings with no roofs at all.
Unfortunately all objects made by the author are very simple, have very large textures and lack windows.
Additionally, some objects such as City Walls, Temples and Castle/Palace are (in my judgment) not climatic at all.
But still there is always something you need to start from, therefore all parts of the Tile-set Desert City of MGSkaggs, which in my opinion are worth working on, can now be found in the new Tile-set.
What else? Quite a lot:
City Tile-set evolved to a SuperSet; now it can be used in building deserts, palm tree groves, seashores, fully animated water, sea cliffs etc.
I have also merged the textures together with the no-expansions NWN hacks to make their size as small as possible and at the same time to leave many possibilities opened to mod makers.
Of course when working on such a large project it is hard to have everything done perfectly, without any errors. Please report any errors you notice-I will try to correct them as soon as possible.
I would also like to use the opportunity to express my gratitude and thank the people who motivate me to run this project:
Ving and Asgraf - The best script writers I know on the NWN scene
V3par - My adventure with object modeling wouldnt have even started without this guy.
and Doodec who helped me with the translation into English.
Finally, Many thanks to the teams of the most popular Polish NWN Servers Consulare Draconis & World in the Shadow Lands of Damned.
PS. Im looking forward to any suggestions you might have.
PS2. This is an alpha version so please don't kill me if you find it awful :o)
IMPORTANT! I am looking for someone to that would add and configure models for "1001 Arabian Nights" tileset to *set and *itp files using Set Editor BETA 0/85 and TlkEdit.
Because its a kind of a public work not giving any profit (exept ennoblement on NWN world) the only thing I can offer is putting a nickname of the co-operator on NWN Vault.
The project itself is a kind of an innovatory solution, because it combines 3 different types of terain in one tileset, has few thousand new models and offers a possibility, so far not presented anywhere else, to create locations in an Arabian style.

This is a wonderful hakpak!! Yes there are a few minor problems but it's still very good!! I downloaded this about two years ago but didn't vote then because I was still a newbie at the toolset and I've only now managed to make a few areas using it. I am amazed at how many things there can be done with this!! My only complaint is the lack of cobbled/paved ground to use in the cities.
I've also downloaded the CTP Babylon set but there aren't any tree tiles in that and the lack of cobbled/paved ground for the cities is an issue there as well.
Thanks for sharing this with us!!

This set is shaping up to be amazing. Have you solidified the tile palette yet so that updating to future builds doesn't totally break everything? Can't wait to use this set.

I love this set, I hope to use it for my P.O.W PW server.

I like those stepped pyramid, fortification things... They have definite possibilities... Exactly how big is this Tileset going to BE by the time you finish it?!
I always wanted to go back and re-do my desert city and making a 2.0 version of it, I just never had the time...I like this a lot! Nice work. Can't wait to try it out.
Be well. _________________________ -----------------------------------------

Even at my super-annuated stage of existance I am still amazed that characters who are so obviously IQ-challenged still manage to blunder into forums to make inane, destructive comments! Your work is superb, even at Alpha already demonstrating your usual skills and attention to detail. I am in no way as gifted as those who have been able to provide you with constructive aid, but I DO feel qualified to offer moral support. Ignore the idiots and keep enhancing the Vault and our lives with your contributions.
My very best wishes for your on-going success.

What can I say? This Tileset is a beautiful piece of art, with some wonderful detail. Scheherazade herself would vote it a ten!
Though I loved MGSkaggs original Desert City, I held off downloading this for a little while, it being an alpha and all, but in the end it just looked too alluring for me to leave it alone. Can't wait to see a perfected beta version (and to see that amazing palace with some nice textures) but I've already gone and stuck the alpha in my current module anyway...
PS:- I adore the texturing on the Evil Castle!
PPS:- The accompanying placeables are excellent also, and very useful for getting things to look just right (But note 'Dome 1' model appears to be missing).
Many, many thanks for what has blatantly been a VAST amount of hard work! It's appreciated.

PC_Maniac: you should contact the Vault and ask them to remove the sabotage vote of 1.00 by "they_voice_of_the_truth" (sic). I am sorry to see you being made the target of this unfair attack. _________________________ KotOR Heads FR Deity and Faction Cloaks Fall-from-Grace Soundset

It is sad to read such a comments as your ones Mr t_v_o_t_t. I perfectly know how much time PC_Maniac spends to provide results of his own, hard work to other people of NWN community. It seems that you love to accuse, being very far from truth at the same time. I can see your message on PBC forum together with your comments saying that actually its PC_Manicacs work done over model available for free use. I dont even want to think about the time necessary to accomplish the target. You said:
Easy thing to do: steal somebody elses work.
In real life Court proceedings could be investigated. Needles to say - your words are just disgraceful.

The new Taj Mahal palace doesn't have any textures, hehe. Still a great set, and the new cobble terrain addition is great. My only suggestion to add to the ones I've made before (hehe) is to make the different terrain types flexible enough that you can mix and match them and they have good looking seams on the transitions between terrains, as well as adding in the ability to raise/lower on the grass and cobble. But yeah, I figure you already have that in the works. Really hope you have a lot of luck with this set, because I'd really like to use it in a PW I'm working on, and we'll soon be entering our Beta phase, and I had wanted to use this for a huge expanse of desert that's a large part of one of the regions.

Definitely a 10, even in Alpha-phase! True, there IS bug or three - emerald green water? - and the walls 1 & 2 need touching up to correct the "see-thru" error, but a terrific sequel to your excellent Crusader City. Anxiously awaiting the final, that is to say finished version. Best of luck.

I apologise for not remembering to come back and vote for this! The work you have done here is really superb. I especially like the "palace" terrain with the arabian-style balconies. Of course it is not perfect, but even as it is it's so far above and beyond a lot of what's out there on the Vault that I think it deserves a ten.
I hope we'll see more of this from you! I'm sorry if a lack of response from the Vault has discouraged you, and I apologise for any part I played in that by downloading it and forgetting to come back. Your talent is just stunning. :o) _________________________ KotOR Heads FR Deity and Faction Cloaks Fall-from-Grace Soundset

Bugs.
some of the towers lack door nodes
water clips in the fountains (love the water anim tho!)
tile edges have the dreaded grey border.
I'm liking it though!

VERY nice, now I can ditch a few haks in place of this one.
This looks very promising. I am beginning work on a PW based upon The Hyborian Age: The world of Robert E. Howard's Conan, and this looks like a perfect fit for that project. I will play around with your alfa in the toolset and let you know of any bugs I find. _________________________ Never Doubt in the darkness that which you believed in the light.
Mondego and FuzzMD - many thanks for any suggestions, and bugs list.
This time working new palace (Taj Mahal) and im urgently looking for a graphic-designer/graphic-worker who could create or asemble from existing textures a texture of arabesque marble.
