A Dungeon and Dragons Beta 0.78 Release. Sometime this year, I hope.
James Clark Waite died on October 31 while in his sleep, he had been on a downward spiral the past few years, a diabetic with total kidney failure and overweight till a few months before his death.
He was a great man, with a wonderful view point, not a bigot by any means, well liked by all that met him.
He was 73
He is survived by his son Eric.
Yes I know that I have not been hard at work on the next part in some time, my dad has been sick we were very close And in a very real sense he died sometime ago.
And of course other thing have gotten in the way as well.
Hopefully I can get more done now but then again maybe not we will have to see.

Here are some old Screens of my Sharks (along with some of my other beasts).
Sorry there was not more this Month, as my Dad is not well, He is in a Hospice after being in the Hospital for a few Months, I don't think he will last the year, .... he dose not remember me,... sad, as he had the best memory and could converse for Hours on end about many subjects.
I will be busy next month (among other things) and will not have as much time to release my work, for at least a Month, maybe two.
Whats new --- Where are you Sean and Justin and maybe Brain, I will be on Higher Ground today, will you? ..... lol inside joke there.
1.) Released new tile Sets NWN city interior 1 & 2 (first release).
2.) I have now placed, each Tile-Set, into there own separate folder (For Raven_Blood) also to make it easier for you to pick and choose, which set you want to use or not use.
There is also a new Readme.
Again, I have released this a little early, this apply's mostly with the NWN City Interior 2.
They are just some areas that are unfinished, that will not crash your game (Well they should not, I have not, crashed with them).
I hope to release, a patch/fix for those bugs soon.
Also I have contacted BeyondThePale, so I hope soon to have, all of this in one big File download, for all of you Broadband users, you can still download the smaller ones if you like (or have a 56k connection and have too).
Whats new ---
1.) Released new tile Sets Dungeon and Castle interior 1 & 2 (frist release).
2.) Fixed Various files (.2da, .tlk, ETc.) to get the .Hak version to work with CEP 2.2 (Kaliesto this one is for you).
3.) Have also included standalone files, as to make adding this work to other non-CEP oriented works easier (hopefully).
There is also a new Readme.
I have release this a little early (there was a few small bugs, that I wanted to get out of the way), but something happened.
For the first time in 5 Years, I have a new PC!
Wow, I had to save up for 3 years to get this baby (was trying to get one back in 2006- 2007).
Whats new --- Bug fixes,....
1.) Bad Animation Bug with the door in Tile tdc01_g07_01, I have also cleaned up that door mesh a tad.
2.) Missing mesh in tdc01_a15_02, is now fixed.
3.) There was some bad sparkle in the Drow Tile-Set at tid01_a01_01, TID01_h01_09, tid01_d01_02, tid01_d02_02, tid01_d02_03, tid01_f12_01, plus a few others that I have found at the moment.
4.) Fixed shadows bugs (most of them) in the following tiles, tid01_h01_02, tid01_h01_03, plus a few others as well.
5.) Added new content to Tile tid01_d02_03, so that the Crystals now glow and are somewhat transparent, as well as have more shine.
6.) Fixed a mesh smoothing issue for tile tid01_d02_02.
7.) A modified fire Animation texture was added for fxpa_flame00, fxpa_firebb, fxpa_flame01,fxpa_flame05, it is much more refined and should resemble the flicks that are often associated with flame, instead of a small near shapeless blob.
Whats new --- Screen Shots! Of the up coming "A Dungeons & Dragons Beta 0.7", due this week (Friday the 23rd)!!!
Plus, a sneak peek at up coming Tile-Sets releases, these are early works in progress, so some of the screens may look out of place and or change before release.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Dungeon and Dragons Alpha 0.01 Release. 10-03-08
Notification, I could only get 7-Zip to shrink this file to the size that the Vault asks (below 25MB), so it is now only working with 7-Zip (sorry Win-zip users) but 7-Zip is free and with no spy-ware (as far as I know), so you will need to download that here Link to use.
Two of the downloads are in fact one and you will need to have both for the extraction processes to work (I had to split the file into two parts with 7-Zip), I will make clear which ones they are below in the download section, you can extract them all by right clicking the file with the 001 in the file name, just after the extension (.7z.001), and press extract files.......
I am releasing this in it's early Alpha forum, so as to let you, the community see, feel and in a scene be a part of something more real then just screen shots (which up to date is all that I have released up to this point), not to men-chin, I mite have never released this, as it will never do Dungeons & Dragons (PnP) justice, so I was hesitant to release (I guess you could call it,... internet stage fright).
Also If something where to happen to my copy's (unlikely now, but who can say for certain) I... we would be losing out on something that was taking me years to accomplish (although this is a very small part of that).
I know that this Release has many bugs (and some missing content), but that is why I call this a Alpha release not a Beta or Final Release...., but given enough time and work it should be all of these (and much more), there is another reason, there is also another reason why this is late, as I have been adding new content to enhance game play (namely Epic Dragons, DracoLichs, Etc),...... I do apologize for the delay but I think that it will be a better game for it.
I hope to release other Works as the time passes, but with all the sets back that I have had to up to this point (with only some of them being said) I will have to release my work (in its entirety) some time next year (I hope), instead of later this year, but I will be releasing more of my work before then (for you to look at and play with), as well as updates to what I have out there now.
Oh please bare in mind, that this work will be updated, so while you are free to add this to your own work, it will go thru changes which mite effect your modules down the road,....I am trying to keep name, number, 2da, .hak files, .ERF, Blueprints, Etc. changes to a minimal, but I can not say with absolute certainty, that it will not make more work for you in the long run (although it should work better then before, and will be worth it).
I my self, have put off making my 2 Modules (The lost City, and Expedition to Castle RavenLoft) along with my friends Gaming world, Palladium Online World or POW for short(*), till I have finished with the Core files.... it should save me quite some time, so I would ask you to do the same.... but you are free to add this to your game at anytime, I am just saying that it mite be more work later on.
With that being said, my Work is for the most part Bioware/Atari Default, save for the wonderful Dragon Stats (Which are by Storvik, while saved me much time and effort, needs some additional work), scripts for hatching eggs (thank you judsonredhawk and Stone Monkey), The DLA Gem Golem Textures and some of the VFx Textures.
There are so many changes that need to be done (one I just noticed was the Black Dragon Shadow Bug), I will not document the rest here (as that would take more time then I have), but allow you to find out for yourself, although I will tell you that one of the many problems that I had forced me to go back on my time table, that problem was to remake all of the Dungeons Ceiling changes, that I had made up to that point which set me back a month at least),......ah problems...problems, I will not trouble you with mine, as I know, that you have your own, so with out further ado...
I would now like to thank, a very small few, that have been there for me and have helped me out (and in a very real scene made this all possible),...... Rory (my Brother,...stay away form them trouble makers!!!), Sean (all three of you), Albert, Evan, Carlos, Rico, Tom, Doug, Dave, Ben, Mike, Justin, Edger, John, FlyWheel, Outlaw, Molle and Chris My Dentist out in Conifer, Barry_1066, Brian Chung, Creig W. and everyone else at BioWare/EA, all you at the NWN Vault.... (Lol....I did not tell you about that one did I, oh wait I just did....lol ), also I would like to thank those that are not with us anymore, ....My Grand Parents, My Aunt and Uncle, My Brother Kirk, My Cousins John Jr. and John the III, Rusty, Herold, Hoppy, Erick Wujcik, may you all find that peace in death, you could not find in life.
This is part one of two files, you must Download!!! Otherwise you will not be able to extract files. This is also the file, that you have to right click on to extract files, the other file (DragonsZZZZ.7z.002) is the left overs...Lol
This is part two of two files, YOU MUST ALSO DOWNLOAD THIS!!! Otherwise you will not be able to extract files, also they both need to be together (in the same folder) for the file extraction to work.

Wow, this looks like amazing work! I'm currently working on a new module using Project Q as my base, and I would love to add on some additional monsters on top of theirs'. If I use your work (both this and A Dungeons & Dragons), would it be acceptable to repackage them in a server specific hak? Or should I have players download your separate haks and only use a custom appearance 2da in my top hak?
This is incredible work! I have been salivating over it for a very long time. _________________________ Project Manager, Sojourney

Sheesh!! I certainly hope he doesn't go down yet! Certainly not before his next release! Lol :D

Dear Hardpoints,
Truly amazing!!! You go down as one of the legends of custom content on NWN'S Vault. The dragons were truly outstanding, the roof top add ons were fantastic (perfect height!) and now monsters? Thanks so much for these awesome files. Have a great day friend. :) _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.

Hey there, Hardpoints!! Whatever happened to the beholder tunnels ceilings? Been salivating for them...
I can include them, in the next release if you like,
just need sometime, to get things in order...
I should have other tile-sets ready by then as well.
Thank you for asking...
Hardpoints oh and sorry for the delay... to your post.
Hi Hardpoints! I was wondering if it would be difficult to rig your Yeenoghu model to use the ghoul animations by ragnarok_mr4/lord of worms. The Project Q ghouls also use these animations. The animation set would give Yeenoghu a truly bestial posture, and it would doubtlessly look great to see the demon lord leaping on all fours towards the player. Would this be doable?
Well in this last installment I released some new monsters but with out any .erf blueprints, in the next release I will fix that, they should have stats.
Many, have also gone threw changes (model mesh's and Textures), hopefully for the better.
As for other stuff (Dwarf tile-set and others), I have been not able to get much done unfortunately, but that should change soon, can not say when the next ceilings will be out, but I will get them, when I can get them done.
Anyhow happy Holidays everyone....
Hardpoints out. _________________________ Death and taxes.

Welcome back Hardpoints. Excellent looking new creatures (love the Brain in the jar). How is the Dwarven ceilings coming? I still hope you can at some point do a cavern/mine ceiling set. I like the description of the BS shark as well... Good stuff! Glad your still working on these projects.

The tab glow problem, I have turned it off by default as it causes the game to crash if you move your mouse pointer over your Avatar or any model that has over a certain number of moving parts (like the Dragons).
This is a inherent bug within the Aurora engine and even the folks at DLA and Bioware can not fix this, (that's is unless a patch raises the upper limit).
Yes I know that the items still glow as they are not part of the Rendered Character model, as should anything other item, as I do not know of a way to change this at this time.
Try changing into a Red dragon, then move your mouse pointer over yourself and you should see what I am talking about.

Nevermind, I've solved my issue. Disregard.
Posted by TormakSaber at 2009-10-03 21:01:30 Voted 9.00 on 10/03/09
Excellent override, however I've run into one snag: When installing your override, the "Tabglow" on creatures (and only creatures, not even the weapons they hold, or PLCs on the ground, or etc) disappears. This goes so far as to affect things like the spells Ghostly and Ethereal Visage, as well as any effect that uses the translucent glow visual effects. The server I DM on makes heavy use of these for custom buff changes and so not being able to see these is a large detriment. Is there any chance you can tell me which file affects this, or what I need to do to restore tabglow to my game, without removing your override if t all possible? I have narrowed it down to being specifically your override, and it occurs both in single player and multiplayer.

Ok, NOW that you have taken the time to answer my comment in such an ample and detailed manner, I can vote.
This is not out of good manners or thanfulness, but out of a deeper understanding of what you tried to achieve, and to my eyes, actually did achieve.
Your dragons are quite possibly the best example of "from-book-to-game" works. Now that I know where your visual reference comes from, I can't help but congratulate you.
Indeed, I still don't like some of the changes, but that has nothing to do with the fact the textures and models are outstandingly similar to those of the Draconomicon. You see, my issues with your tweaks are basicaly the ones you have already pointed out -head size, mane/fin in some of the models, the relative proportion of front and hind legs, etc. I also didn't like the toned-down colors in the textures, no matter how faithful to the actual image they are; I prefer Bioware's skins in this particular.
This doesn't mean your dragons are "bad-looking", just that maybe I was rather accostumed to the Neverwinter NIghts models; you know, their build is a little heaftier, the head look bigger and a little more dinosaur-like, there are minimal fins/manes, the textures have high contrast, and so the dragons seem somehow moisty and with a greater sense of body depth, etc.
Your Brass and Bronze dragons are my favorites, as their skull-mesh and textures are practically impeccable. Something I observed , specialy in the metallic species, is you tend to light the color of the "under-body" texture, you know, the one that is of a different color. If you light up and reduce contrast in the overall skin, it loses depth, a general issue with your dragons that becomes more evident when it comes to that particular spot in the textures. A good idea would be to use the Bioware colors on your models and see the difference. A good example of how this works is Lord of Wormz' pack of undead creatures, draco-lich included. Most of the impact comes from the texture's realism, rather than the models.
Anyway, even if you decide to give up designing dragons, I encourage you to keep developing custom content for the Aurora Engine. You are talented, and should know your work is greatly appreciated!
Posted by Jedijax at 2009-07-04 13:10:52 Voted 10.00 on 07/05/09
I very much like your idea on the breath magics and the four-legged movement of dragons, as well as the large wings; however, I don't like your changes when it comes to the heads and some other texture tweaks.
I am, on the other hand, very grateful for your sharing of the tileset ceilings, which I had been looking for since quite a while.
I am not voting, as my grade may lower your current standing, and I think it may have more to do with my opinion on the things I dislike, rather than a thorough examination and appreciation of the actual HAK.
This, however, doesn't mean I am not impressed with your work. Keep at it! It is thanks to contributors like you that the game keeps getting better and better even after seven years of being released!
