Port Maddog, a lawless, fog-shrouded port city teeming with thieves, villains, scoundrels... and endless opportunities. You've come to the city seeking to join The Shadowdwellers, a guild of rogues and mercenaries known for their skill, honor and unique brand of justice. But it is a dark time for the guild. One of their own, a highly skilled 'second story man' known as Otto 'Grand Theft' Cutpurse, was captured while looting the royal coffers. The guild must find a way to break him out of the palace dungeon, and soon. Tomorrow at noon he's going to be executed in the public square. In The Company of Thieves is an inner-city campaign for rogues and mercenaries who enjoy working outside the law, and was inspired by fantasy works like the 'Thieves World' series, the 'Lankmahr' novels by Fritz Lieber, and the 'Riftwar' novels by Raymond Fiest. It is very clear to me that at the time I write this, Grand Theft Otto is an old module, but the fact of the matter is it didn't age well. The execution is unpolished overall, and many of the mod's attempts at humor fell flat for me. I'm happy I played it, and I appreciate the effort, but I cannot say it was a great gaming experience. GTO was probably great for it's time, but why play it when there are so many newer, sleeker, better scripted mods out there?

I absolutely loved this mod (it was one of the first I downloaded way back when). Loved Rainman. :) _________________________ [My (Important) Submissions] [My Website: Link]

Killing innocents is just stupidity ! A thief is not an assassin, and he kills only if needed and never his contacts, like his buyers. So don't do non-sense act to cry after...

Great mod and very funny!

Good intro module for COT2, but the dungeons required too much fighting for a pure rogue without any henchman.

"Though you do specify good rogues in this game, some people like myself, sell our unneeded merchandise from previous mods and kill the shopkeeper to prevent buying stuff back at a higher price." What the heck?

My ShadowDancer made his way through this good little story. Dialogs are good and mood captivating. A bit hack'n slash perhaps sometimes but I managed my quests without killing a guard (except in garou form but it is not my fault RRRRaahhhhh... :p ) I will play the sequel soon.
