Starting from your ancestral estate outside Mirabar, you begin an epic quest that will force you back into the mighty Spine of the World. Across frigid tundra and through endless tunnels you must travel to locate and rescue desperate souls at the mercy of savage beasts. Old friends and new stand ready to take up arms and join in your quest against countless menacing foes. But once the journey starts, there can be no turning back! Are you ready to Return to the Spine? Return to the Spine is a Forgotten Realms Module for a 7th-level character (6th- to 8th). The module is a follow-up to Beneath the Spine, Parts 1 & 2. Return to the Spine is primarily a linear hack-n-slash. This module was designed and tested for single player on a normal difficulty setting, utilizing the available henchmen. Return to the Spine provides four to six hours of gameplay and allows your character to advance two levels.
Played and had fun with it. It stand the passing of age much better than beneath. No bugs and very good areas to look at. Shorter but still long enough to be satysfing (mis-spelled I fear). The thing I found quite surprising was to see how much the challenging has changed. The first was sooo hard to be practically impossible without respawn in many points. Here is mostly a piece of cake, not once I had to reload for death and I haven't even see an henchmen die. Not even the bard. Probably it's really a tad too easy, a part for that optional encounter... but that's not only optional but also quite clearly an encounter not to be had. Hope the third will find a better balancement of challenge-fun. voted: 7.75 mostly because it's professional. Could get better with more henchmen interaction. The good thing of having many henchmen is that they talk. Here it doesn't happen. And also the NPC are quite one-liner. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested Contributor to Overlooked Module Reports An interview with me about NWN mods

Please take a look at Beneath because I've found a very serious Showstopper bug. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested Contributor to Overlooked Module Reports An interview with me about NWN mods

LoCash; Thanks for the suggestions! I'm definitely using the CEP, as well as Sunjammer's TileMagic and 69MEH69's Henchmen script package (you'll be able to bring up to two henchmen along on this one). I'll take a look at Tony K's AI package and evaluate integrating that as well. I'm about ready to give it my first internal play-through, so things are going pretty well (knock on wood). I think I'm still on schedule for external beta testing in early 2005. And if you get a chance to play 'The Fate of Neverwinter' let me know what you think (I know you will ;-). Take care.

If I can make some suggestions for you early in your build process: 1. To use the CEP. But I know I don't need to say this, since you're on the CEP team and will most likely use it ;) 2. To use Tony_K's alternative Battle AI routines, since BioWare is too slow to fix their AI bugs, and keep introducing new ones in the patches. ("Henchman AI/Inventory mod"). MMmm, that's it I guess. When I finished RttS I was 9th level. But since you'll use (I hope) multiple henchmen, even 9th level should allow for some nice "big" fights with tough enemies. Look forward to seeing what happens... oh, and I guess now would be a good time to try that other module you published sometime in 2004.

Hack and slash at its finest. The story was okay but not as good as it could have been, though.

Thanks for the offer, LoCash! I'd be happy to have you beta test--your input is invaluable. I'll let you know when it's ready. Probably not 'till early 2005, unless I really go on a tear. :) Obviously, my goal is for it to be bigger and better than any of my previous work.
