Welcome to Election in Dindor, the third adventure in the 'Secrets of Doglake' Campaign. The first two parts in this series were partly inspired by 'rans Vg', a PnP adventure campaign released in Sweden by TAMB ventyrsspel (copyright 1985 or thereabout). This part is not in any way inspired by 'rans Vg', but some names and plot elements carry over from the first two parts.
Well, you ain't gonna get nowhere without the search skill... If you don't have it yourself, use the rogue henchman. If you have the search skill, here's a few hints on where to search: If you listen well, there are a few places where you can hear the niece scream. If you look around closely, you can find a clue of where the Troll Chieftain and the Black Knight is hiding. If you listen well in the temple, you will have an easier job of finding the solution to Father Martin's strange behaviour. Hope you succeed, otherwise, mail me, I read my mail more often than I check out these forums. Rgds/MaD

Really like the series so far. I'm really stuck here on #3. I've been thru the dungeon where the niece is suppossed to be, but can't find her. I've gone thru it 3x now, and still can't locate her. Also, the troll mines, i've been down there 3x as well and eveytime I go there, there is no one but me in the mines. Am I missing a secret in both of these places? Did I mess up the order of things? Need help, want to continue on to part 4. Chris

Darn... You've found a major logic flaw... You have to do like this: 1. Talk to Elena. 2. Talk to the councillors. 3. Talk to Elena to tell her you know what to do. 4. Carry out the quests. If you start on "no 4" before "no 3" this error will occur. I really don't know how I'm gonna fix this. I'll need to rehash the entire quest logic. Or maybe I'll take the easy way out as you suggested: make this clear in the conversation at point 1 above. This will take a while. I'm sorry, Alcarin, but my only recommendation at this point is to start on part 4. Sorry about this, but thank you for finding this error. I'll try to fix it ASAP. Rgds/MaD

Elena's conversation said to talk to her *before* we went into the sewers and after we get all the votes. I did all the other quests, or I wouldn't be getting the pop-up messages when I talked to them, telling me thank you. If her conversation meant to talk to her after receiving all the quests fromt he councillors, no I didn't do that since I figured on doing the quests first, then talking with her. If we need to speak with her before taking on those quests, then that should be more clear in her conversation. Now, I did mark a cave in the woods on my map, but I didn't go in since I was making my way to Dun Ammon at the time. I'll go handle the sewers, I guess then talk to her.

Hmmm.... I don't get it, really. This is one of the things that are most really thoroughly tested... Just in case... These are the quests that need to be done: Troll mines - killing the Black Knight officer. Missing niece - meeting the niece. Search for truth - killing the bandit leader and returning the sphere. Swanlake - killing the Black Knight officer. Smelly assassins - opening the door from secret tunnel to woods. Strange behaviour - destroying the pedestal. Have you completed all of these? Did you perhaps miss the Black Knight officer in the Troll mines? Rgds/MaD

Hi, again, Marcus! :) Okay, I did find the temple and the secret door down in the cellars. Fixed Father Martin's little problem, but when I go back and talk to him, then try Elena again, she still asks whether I've talked with all the councillors yet and the only response I have is "No, not yet." So... I go back and try and talk to them all again, but of course I only get their pop-up messages saying basically "Thanks." Try Elena again, but still don't get anywhere. Suggestions? Hints? Thanks. :)

Well... You're not supposed to be stuck. That sucks... But I don't find it realistic to go out on an adventure without access to the search skill. You need to have that, otherwise you will get stuck in several places. Simon: If you cannot find the trapdoor, use the Rogue henchman. That's why there's a rogue henchman after all. Test: Father Martin is under the influence of something/someone in the temple. You have to find it to complete the quest. (Hint: If you don't have Search skill, use the rogue henchman. You could also pay attention to sounds in the temple corridors.) Thanks for comments on dungeons/waste of space and that. Will consider this. Map points are left out intentionally. I like that, you don't. Let's just agree to disagree. :-)

I'm now stuck on the final level of the mine where my half- orc barbarian can't detect the hidden door that lead where the troll boss is even if I stick him there for half a hour with "search" mode on. Kinda frustating. I wish I could complete this quest. Anyone got a trick about how I should do this? Overall, I enjoyed the first three modules. The only *very* bad part, imo, is the first dungeon my character ventured in, in part 1 : The cemetery crypt. The items there were powerful, and the fights were overly easy. Not to mention the first door of the dungeon gave unlimited 500 xp. Another problem with your dungeons is how you waste space. The last dungeon of part 1 and part 2, for example, I fairly large. But the space is barely used and someone could finish them without having to visit the 9/10 of the rooms. But I think the most annoying thing that you did and redid in the first three part is having the encounters always seem as to pop up from nowhere. Keep up the good work, your modules need polishing, but I think you are on the right track.
