Description
Contracted by the church to find a former bishop suspected of black magic, you travel to a remote island in the middle of the ocean. Your mission turns more complicated when you find a colony of settlers who consider evil magics a blessing from God, and it starts becoming more difficult to tell who the true enemy is.

I think my vote got deleted, because I included a link to the other module by the same author - bone kenning.
Nevertheless, here's my vote. _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)
Dude, this mod is kick-@$$, plain and simple. Is there a sequel?
BTW, I liked how you put God in here cuz I was like FINALLY someone I know.
(BTW, wasn't offended any way by this, if it helps) _________________________ "Never forget...the nightmare."

Following the advice of Undead Paladin, I just completed this one with my Necromancer cleric from Bone Kenning. Overall it was OK but the combats near the end were still quite tedious (and it was easy to lose your skeleton). I enjoyed playing a double agent though.

Just finished the mod. I read the other peoples comments and started with a 4th level paladin, finished at 6th. Combats were tough in spots (you NEED better than a +1 weapon) but the story, areas, and realism were very good. Give it a try with a 4th or 5th level char to start.

Sadly the comments I left two years are still valid and my vote should reflect that. Although I may try to play this module once more I cannot recommend it at this time.
Gameplay : 5
Original story with no bugs probably more suitable for fighters as combats are tough from the start.
Roleplaying : 5
More suitable for Chaotic and/or Evil character.
Action/Fun : 3
The weak point in this module IMHO. Even with a lvl 3 character to start with, the quests related combats I had after reaching the big town were impossible to win. Perhaps it is possible to hire other "tanks" than Samedi and Bone Jack but these are the only two I found this time.
Visuals/Sounds : 7
Pretty basic in general, this is a vintage module after.
There is an outsanding level of detail/realism in some areas like in the fields in South Parish.
Replayability : 5
It may be interesting to try this with a necromancer or a cleric with death domain but other than that I do not see much replay value here.
Documentation : 5
There is a readme file. A walkthrough would have been a nice addition.

I liked the module. Just a few logical errors that bugged me. Also, fights are hell if you are being attacked by a group and you don't have a merc. I don't use mercs so maybe that should be something to take into consideration when making your next module. Anyways, I had fun playing it. Great storyline!

This is a nice little module, good storyline, well balanced battles, nice areas.
only problem i found was a couple of the quests i was told i had completed before even being given them (won't list them here to spoil it for others) would have liked to see the module continue on a little further past where it ended, but for what it is it's a great little module.

This module is really great in terms of story and does for that alone deserve a spot in the Hall of Fame. If you like Bloodspell and feel like playing a Jered like character you may find that this story is a great prelude for Jered's saga (this part would be before the start of the movie).
Got to a point where my character could not complete the (last) quest (when you get the holy water). As I mentioned it was tough to survive as level 1 monk although one who can sneak around could manage to reach level 2 alone or better once you find the henchmen.
My little monk/paladin/Sorcerer (or bloodmage) managed to visit all the areas except a closed village and did every possible quest I could get. Never got the gnome quest (but dd the dungeon). Never found the 2nd body either.
So we ventured into the wilderness (with the Defender) found some creatures begging for their lives to be spared only to get smashed by the stuff they were running away from. I am not even sure that being level 5 (Jered is now Monk 1/Paladin 1/Sorcerer 2) would make it less challenging. My guess is that either we are at the right level but the module does not work well with spell casters or that we missed too many quests so my character is only level 4 instead or 5 or 6. It's probably game over now but I will certainly try this again.

I don't really get it. Here is another module with what looks like a great story. Yet, once you get into the action part you find yourself alone with no equipment and you quickly die once you venture away from the shore.
Anything can hit you easily (low AC) and kill you with one or two blows (10 HP or so). Having to deal with more than one creature at a time is a nightmare and permanent Constitution damage is just too much.

This author makes the most of the tools provided by the developers. There's no hak file used, but it doesn't feel like there's a need for one because the story is so original. A great job of showing that a good developer with some imagination can do something really new with the toolset.
There could be some minor improvements made. The wisps gave quite a bit of experience, especially given that they didn't damage my character much. I was able to level up twice by killing some of them, and I found them to be a convenient way to level up - maybe a bit too convenient. Also, there were a few spelling/grammar errors:
1) (Archbishop Sorn) "he looks up ike" should be "he looks up like"
2) (boy) "wierd" should be "weird"
3) (to Drummond) "serveants" should be "servants"
4) (Shankshill family quest description) "the robbery a skeleton trader" should be "the robbery of a skeleton trader"
5) (Quarterstaff) "wierd" should be "weird"
6) (merchant's shingle) "tresspassers" should be "trespassers'
7) (to Archbishop) "otherwhise" should be "otherwise"
8) (Mine Guard) "otherwhise" should be "otherwise"
9) (Nockertap Blueprints) "wierd" should be "weird"
10) (Bishop Talrand) "serveant" should be "servant"
11) (Bekkler) "sisland" should be "island," "serveant" should be "servant," and "gaint" should be "giant"
None of this should deter anyone from trying this mod out, though - in my opinion, it should be downloaded more.

For a older module I have no complains. Very fun, wonderfully easy to follow storyline, and no errors discovered.
Ericdoman: If you read the text at the end for a reply it saids: The End. Basically you have completed the adventure.
Don't know if anybody cannhelp here. I am stuck in the cabin with Capt ? after defeating Obed. I can not seem to leave and the capt keeps repeating same dialogue about returning to mainland.
Managed to reach 6th lvl (ftr only) and combats were challenging on ocassions (the sea elves with spr were tough and had to reload once cos 2 critical with a spear is going to bring down most people).
Hey Wes, Looks like an interesting module and I can't wait to try it.
And as to Jez2k... the download IS free. Once in a while when hitting the downlod link one is mysteriously transported to the IGN/register page. Ignore it. Just go back and try again.

Apparantly now too popular to download for free... huh?

Eerie and suspenseful when you run into the main bad guy. However, I did not like how we didn't fight a kracken at the end.
Maybe you should update this with that for a level 40 HoU character. ;)
Still, overall, it was excellent! _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

I think I played this awhile back, though I can't remember why the module was rated mature. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Nice module with an interesting plot. A little too much walking and running back and forth at times however.

I can't think of much to say other than it was a fairly fun mod. Not butt-kickingly awesome (few mods are), but a HUGE cut above the usual boring H&S junk.
The basic story was clever. It was pretty linear but I didn't feel like I was being guided. The comabts were challenging but not overwhelming. RPing opportunites were limited (compared with the best RPing mod in my opinion, "Arandie"), but the "medium" description is not misleading.
No annoying "realism" factors like rest restrictions or torches that burn out.
Anyway, gave it a "9, HoF". Good job.

Much better than the usual drivel.

I've been playing this mod a bit recently and I'm really enjoying it. Great work! So far, under NWN 1.62, everything has been working fine.

Decent module, no bugs. Some leaping at the end of the story, as if it was all going a bit too fast. Some unnecessary romping (long-distance walking with no events on the way) back and forth.

It's a very interesting story. I like modules where things aren't as they seem, and where interesting issues are brought up. This module raises the question of whether the ends justify the means. The combat is sometimes very difficult, though, especially towards the end.

I really love both your mods: -they have a nice Warhammer RPG flavour, with those crazed necromancers...
I would like to know if there's any way to settle Corinne's abuse with Morthey. I've killed the merchant and the priest, but murdering Morthey turns the citizens hostile (not that I care). At least she didn't die a virgin -nice touch at the start of the story, by the way.
