You need to be able to deal cold, fire and electric damage or just klure the guardians to the wizard. I started with monk and was not able to deal cold damage. Lured that guardian to wizard.
You(builder) could use the newest model for dretch from CEP.

Delightful little module for my level 2 Fighter/Rogue.

Wonderfully enjoyable little module! Took me 30 minutes to complete with my Elven Evoker and about 20 or so with my Human Ranger.

*** SPOILER ***
The ending right before the mage dual was a bit difficult with the mage apprentice constantly on my tail and being flanked by the goblin-esque monsters and also there were multiple fire mephits which appeared out of nowhere and roasted my ranger which prompted a respawn. Other than that, a great module!

*** END SPOILER ***

It was fun for the most part and I could have rated it higher if there was a clue about the impossible fight near the end or if the fight was toned down to suit a lvl 4 solo character. The only thing I could do to avoid the hordes from Hell was to drink an invisibility potion and run (to complete the last task).

Lots of nice comments already but I'll add mine to say that I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a quick hour - hour and a half of fun.

Lovely design, not stupid hard fights, really a lot of fun

Good job

*************SPOILERS***********************

Played with a new start cleric which turned out to be a good choice for the library as I just nuked everything in there and walked around at my leisure, but should be fine with any class really.

Carting all the stuff around though, hmmmm - potion of Bull's Strength in one of the chests perhaps? But that is a minor minor point

Flarestormjpb:

Thanks for the compliment! Always great to know people are enjoying my work.

As a side note, you're not the only one who liked it. This module got me hired by BioWare! Woot!

Piestar:

**** SPOILERS ****

I agree that the Holy Roller was not as useful as I would have liked. Original plan was to put a big Undead monster in the library that only the Roller could damage (probably vulnerable to Divine and immune to everything else). It would have guarded the diamond or one of the other important parts of the final Mining Golem.

I really enjoyed this module! A nice little romp and a much-needed break from all the epic, episodic modules out there.

Creative puzzles which weren't too hard to solve. It was challenging for my 1st level wizard - a character I intend to keep around now that he has a little experience behind his back thanks to your great module :)

This was a fun little module! Exactly what I was looking for last night to kill some time. I used a 1st level wizard, and it was quite challenging.
Very nice puzzles and cutscenes. I highly recommend it

Highly reccomended!!!

****SPOILERS***

Great fun... the broom was fun, but the library is well designed to contain the problem... the only downside for me was creating the Holy Roller for nothing... Is there a way to make him follow you? The cut scenes were great, but the ending seemed rather, eh... Som epeople say the final scene is outside, so I might have missed something, though I did get my reward.
Anyway, great work!!!

The Master Wizard uses the standard BioWare open store script, used throughout SoU & HoTU. If your Appraise skill is high enough, you should be able to get improved prices.

My test characters are all rather boorish louts without an ounce of skill in Appraise, so I may put together a smooth new test character to test it out and make sure the good reaction is possible.

Finished the module last night with a 1st level paladin. This is the first module I've played and I was impressed. Really liked the entryway design. The story was a good length for an evening's playing - reminded me a bit of the Tunnels & Trolls adventure books from the 80's (but I digress). I have a (spoilerish) question: does the Master Wizard always give you an unfavourable reaction at the store? I was unable to get a favourable reaction at any level. All in all very enjoyable- didn't notice any obvious bugs.

This was a fun detour on my character's journey from humble beginnings to epic adventures. The cutscenes were perfectly placed (though yes, zoom them out a bit please). Golem construction was definitely the highlight. Great job.

Jason,
Great job! I just downloaded and played through The Apprentice last night. Excellent scripting with the cut-scenes and the rune-stone encounters. The golem exercise was fun as well. I personally enjoy shorter modules (this one took me a little less than an hour to complete). Would love to see a sequel that carries on the storyline of the NPCs involved.

Thanks gpeddino! In response to your comments:

*** MAJOR SPOILERS ***

The broomsticks multiply when they're broken. Use fire or acid to get rid of them for good. A blast or two from the Fire wardstone should do it. I may change the script so fewer sticks are spawned... Limit it to 8 or so.

In the final cutscene, after placing the wardstones in the pillars, it should have shown the Master Wizard casting a spell on the Apprentice and putting him to sleep. If you talk to the Master Wizard after finishing the quest and collecting your reward, then he tells you a little bit about what he plans to do for the Apprentice.

*** end spoilers ***

What a great module! I specially liked the cutscenes: they were all very innovative and well scripted.

--- spoilers ---

Good job on the Golemizer. It was a great idea. But I have some thing that may be a bug, though: Firstly, I created the Iron Golem. He destroyed the boulders and all. Then I created the Broomsticks. Lots of broomsticks came up to fight me and my familiar. And I mean lots. About 20 or more, which made the game very laggy for some moments. Maybe you should check that out.

Still, an awesome module. I had some trouble in the end when placing the wardstones in the pillar. I placed them wrong and because of that I had to fight the Apprentice for some moments (and some respawns). I thought it was a bug, but then I checked the colors and it all worked beautifully.

The idea of the rebel apprentice is very well worked, but personally I think the ending scene in the forest should show what happened to him.

Congrats on this, I'll keep an eye on your future work. ;)--------------------------------------

Okay, I've seen several posts saying the cutscenes should be zoomed out a little. I've got a couple questions before I go making the changes:

a) What resolution do you play NWN in? I'll set my screen to the most popular resolution before I redesign the cutscene to make sure I'm seeing what you're all seeing.

b) Which cutscenes need to be zoomed out? Which ones are already OK?

You can post here if you want, but it's probably best to E-mail me with the results:

Thanks!

This is a GREAT module for beginning characters. I agree with the other posters that the cut scenes should be zoomed out a little. Other than that, it's amazing.

The battles are not overpowering but seem balanced for all classes. On top of that, there are numerous ways around fighting.

The reward at the end was the best I've ever gotten in a game. MUCH better than the standard,
