Classes
There are many things (including quests) reserved solely for some classes. Battles are challenging and I DO NOT recommend my module to inexperienced players.
Your alignment can change easily, depending on your actions. There are also completely different plot courses for good/neutral and evil players.
Description
Sapphire Star is a Forgotten Realms module, based on a PnP campaign, the Guardian. The module is developed for a full single-player experience of the Western Heartlands, including character development, non-linearity, good/evil plot courses, lycanthropy for players (werewolf and wererat), large quests and areas to explore, multiple endings, exciting conflicts, new spells, original song and an optional intro movie. See the Readme file to your right for more details.
It's quite an interesting module if you are an experienced player /tough battles, long quests/. (Wizard/Sorcerer can use scrolls to cast higher level magics, and sometime it could be useful)

Pretty interesting, though there were quite a few problems as well. I felt a bit too vague and directionless for the most part of the mod. Because of the lack of at least some linearity, I felt i was often running into overpowering enemies that I probably wasn't supposed to be tackling at that stage. It was a tad annoying. Also, the NPC's were a bit of a letdown.

There is not enough available for a low-level character to do, and so I spent a fair amount of time at the beginning wandering around trying to find something that wouldn't just blow me away. The cave above the mines, which might have been appropriate, seemed blocked by two thieves that were too hard to beat for a 1st-level character. Some better direction for the player on where to go would help. Would it be so bad if Xarsus didn't tell you to go against a dracolich, or into the 1st level of Hell, until you had more than a few levels under your belt? This issue mars what could have been a good module. There are good ideas for quests here.

Folks who gave this module a 10 for fun are on crack. This is just about as tedious as a module can be.

Michi, there's no connection between the beggar and Loma. everlastingquestion, the similarities are intentional. Fallout 2 is one of my favorite games :) taltamir, there are no other public modules from me available. I have a few great "beta" modules on my computer but I have no time to finish & release them. Sadly :( She-Wolf, thanks for all the bug reports. The priest doesn't say anything about the issue since his action speaks for himself. A thief stole from temple's treasury and he punished her brutally - he's a war priest.

Thanks to everyone for their interest and for all positive (and negative) comments :) frankie, I know the romance sucks. But it sucked when we played it pen&paper in 2002 so there you go. As true to the original as possible. My definition of "heavy roleplaying"? Well, it would probably be Planescape: Torment. However, SS doesn't come near that CRPG gem. steve, you can bash the temple door without martial proficiency. Just keep the hammer in your inventory and go for it with your fist - a strange solution but it works. I'll add the proficiency if I ever update the module again. Thanks steve for being such an adamant player.

Finally finished it. I guess patch 1.66 had to be final and not beta. A small issue regarding the warhammer, but no need to downscore the mod. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them. Thanks, Steve

Hi Yaballa, Just one error I am hoping you can fix either around Thanksgiving or Christmas vacation: The warhammer used to smash down the temple door is a problem if you're using a wizard that has no martial weapon proficiency. I went back and got the elf barbarian, but he can't smash it. I had to give myself an extra level just to take fighter for that proficiency. I think the hammer needs to have magic added on to it of "Weapon Proficiency (martial)" so anyone can use this plot required item. Thanks for all you've done, Steve _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them. Thanks, Steve
