Description
The module is not intended as a die hard role-playing module with millions of different endings for each alignment, race, and class combination to finish the game. And although there is quite some combat, dont think that A Fairytale Fantasy is a massive blood slaughter game either. The module is mainly a light-hearted story based linear adventure. A Fairytale Fantasy is designed for those people who want a change for a few hours from the high fantasy drow/orc/goblin/dragon high-fantasy-forgotten-realms-modules. Such modules are fun but a change of pace is fun too! As you might suspect from A Fairytale Fantasy, it is based on fairytales. It draws from many fairytales and combines them in a fun and light-hearted adventure. SoU and HotU required.

Oh no! I can't find any of the other mods! Looks like the author hasn't logged in for quite some time...
If anyone knows where to find the mods listed in this readme, that would be great. If not, well... At the very least This wasn't a hanging ending that is waiting for a sequel to finish...
Still a bit disappointing =(

This was a blast!
At first I was a little leary of playing a pregenerated character, but it fit the tale perfectly. It was wonderful to play a whimsy mod.
Is there an ETA on the sequel? I am hooked!
I will go back and snag up your other series and play them too. When I find a mod author that impresses me, well I check out all or at least most of there stuff. Keeps me busy =)
Props for a bug free, super original idea! Thanks for your time and creative efforts!

For a mod from 2003... outstanding!
What an original idea, and how well carried! Do you like RPG and are bored of the always-the-same-epic-adventure-carnage? Try this mod.
A bit short (which can be good, as you can play it in one afternoon) and maybe right linear, but it is a story, and as such it can not be chaotic. A marvelous fairy tale in a fairy tale setting.
A nice surprise, and a little jewel which I can't understand why it is not long ago in the Hall of Fame, when so much mods truly less deserving are.

A fun and amusing--if not stellar--diversion that allows you to take on the role of a little princess. Her adventure is inspired by several different fairytales, and the ending will give you a feeling of satisfaction if you used to find two certain fairy-tale villains disturbing. ;) A little combat heavy at times, considering the tone of the story, but it never gets frustratingly difficult.

Well, this was something different. :) The author tells a story through the main character, so don't expect much choosing, but the story was fun enough. I didn't notice any show-stopping bugs, and there were rather few typos and language problems. Go non-native-speaker module builders! :)
Some people complain about difficult fights; it didn't seem that bad, with some 10 auto-resurrecting soul gems in my disposal I could bear with a few deaths as well. Grab a heavy crossbow for yourself and keep that fighter lad, you'll do fine for the fighting.

A cute, fun mod with a couple of rough spots. The titles in the beginning movie went by a little too fast for their length and two of the corpses near the end remained hostile. On the plus side, it was interesting enough to keep me playing despite the fact that I don't usually like mods with pregenerated PCs.

You need to explore the town before all that...
I play and finish this mod. I like some points and dislike others. The mood is respected, the story well-written et the dialogs excellent. There is also no lethal bug.
On the other hand, there are too many fights and too tough generally. The synopsis is almost linear, letting not enough freedom.
I give "9.25" but I fear that the author has abandonned NWN and his mods :(

Hello, I've played very little of the game so far, but I'm a bit frustrated. Is it even possible to suceed on the first quest? I've read posts that suggest that you must let the Pied Piper get hung/and or lynched, but I just wanted to be sure. I've gone through the conversation with the mayor several times and the furthest I've gotten is to talk to the "almost dead girl" and hear about the big bad wolf. Am I just supposed to ignore this and go on with the module or is there a way to find out about the children before conversing with the mayor?

I enjoyed this mod very much. I acknowledge that it's not hardcore roleplaying, nor a mod with convoluted plot. It is, however, very original and refreshing. Good use of custom contents, and the writing is very charming. I look forward to the next installment.

I enjoyed this game enough to come vote on it... good job, thanks! To the unamed poster below... if you think America is doing the SiegHeil boogie, do something about it! One person can make a difference. BTW, the author of this mod lives in the Netherlands.

I really enjoyed this mod...when does the sequel come out?
Posted by Anonymous ( 216.244.xxx.xxx ) at 2004-05-24 08:06:00
yeah...even with several days attempting to remove the nonsense preventing any sort of varience in the story nothing has worked and the entire module is tedious and dull. having read the review up there im left to wonder if anyone involved in all this has ever been involved in a real roleplaying situation? sigh i guess its true, roleplaying is dead. but then i suppose in this increasingly facistic america choice is frowned upon be all.
Posted by idunnoagain ( 216.244.xxx.xxx ) at 2004-05-24 06:45:00
ok. got it working...see and the thing is i had high hopes for it cause the whole faerie thing is cool...my favorite rping game is changeling the dreaming...but this is not good. it seems youve dedicated yourself to taking all the CHOICE out of playing and pretty much HAVE to do everything ONE WAY...i think youd be better servered writing STORIES than making modules, with a story its your creation begining to end with nobody else having any say in the matter-when you try to apply the same idea to a game that OTHER PEOPLE are going to play it ends up rather dull if youre one of said people. i used to have the TT dragonlance modules, it was the same thing with them rping is all about choices and removing them before the game even starts is really kind of a rip off for the players. sorry.

has anyone else encountered this problem-ive got the module and the hak pak and all set up in their proper places and when i try to play the mod it starts off fine, pick the charater and all, but when it comes to the loding screen it just kind of stops and after a few minutes returns me to the NWN main menu?
Posted by Kazra_Thundermail at 2004-04-19 16:35:49 Voted 2.00 on 04/19/04
I was not able to actually play the game. It would load and then go to the cutscene then after the cutscene was over with it would go back to the main menu. But from what I saw of the cutscene it looked to be a cool story. _________________________ Where's Me Ale, you dirty goblin-eating snot?!?

Very original with wonderful use of CC and a clever story. Cons: too much combat for a rogue princess fairy tale. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

Hey LatH123,
I wanted to try this little Fairy Tale this week-end but I couldn't launch it :o
I play in SoU patch 1.62 beta2 and the message error is that the mod (or the hak ?) is of a newest version !
Your mod is indicated for SoU 1.32 so I don't understand.
