Description
After solving the problems for Mayor Walsken in Float, you decide a nice cruise down the coast to your home in Neverwinter is just the ticket. You board the Marilyn, a ship owned by a Captain Amraphen, whom you have commissioned to take you home. A terrible storm ruins your plans to get there right away, however, and the captain is forced to get his ship out of the fierce weather and dock it in the mid-sized port town of Riffton. Once again, an unplanned adventure awaits!
Download seems a bit buged. I get a file named "Dave" with no extension. While that does apeal to my sense of humour I suspect thats not what was intended. The file actually is the valid zip file and if you get this problem too just stick the .zip extension on by renaming it and it'll open properly.

7ish level hack-n-slash playing dress-up with repetetive nonsensical 14ish level monsters.

AMOT has a decent storyline and conversations, but there are some substantial problems: SPOILERS 1: Much too repetetive. I got really bored with the whole "2 pirates and a wolf, 2 pirates and a wolf, 2 pirates and a wolf, 2 pirates and a wolf" thing, then even more tired of the "2 fiends and a bear, 3 fiends and a bear, 2 fiends and a bear, 3 fiends and a bear" thing. The challenges never escalated or had new twists, they were just pure pointless dupes. 2: Why the heck are bears hanging out with elemental demons? The teams of lions, umber hulks & fire giants are even sillier. None of those 3 have a good reason to ally with each other. 3: AMOT is NOT a 15ish level adventure, it's a 6th-10th level module that was simply ramped up by giving all of the NPCs and monsters 6-8 extra levels. How is this town loaded with dozens of 12th or higher level people performing menial jobs (salesmen, militia grunts, etc)? Where would they get so much combat experience? Similarly, random pirates should be more like 4th level, maybe 8th level max. The whole point of being 15+ level is that you're supposed to be WAY more powerful than common townies. 4: (minor) You can buy raise dead scrolls from a street vendor. You even find some in treasure chests. But when you are presented with the newly-killed bodies of NPCs you wanted to talk to, they don't work. Considering that you use automatic temple respawning, what other purpose could they possibly have? I suggest taking them out.

Loved helping the mother & kids quest and finding out the good elf was the traitor makes this a winner! _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them. Thanks, Steve
