I don't think there's anything preventing multi-play, but the story is written for one character

Description
You have spent most of your life within the walls of Candlekeep, a library fortress on the Sword Coast. You know little of your true parents, but have been told that they are both dead. Instead you were raised by Gorion, a kind old mage who was as good a father as anyone could wish for. Life's quiet for about 20 years, until one day when Gorion suddenly tells you to prepare for a journey, but refuses to say where you are going and why. You stand outside the Candlekeep Inn with what money Gorion could spare, about to equip yourself for the travel. And you had better pick your gear carefully - all hell is about to break loose... This is a remake of Bioware's excellent RPG Baldur's Gate. So far it's only the prologue, but if there's enough interest I might do the rest too. I have taken the basic storyline from Baldur's Gate, as well as characters, subquests, portraits, etc, but dialogues are heavily edited. See ReadMe for more info.
Hey Tiggs, I would encourage you to keep going, what I have seen so far looks great. My offer to help the person working on Phoenix's mod is only as a tester. My own version of this is a long way from finished and I do not plan to release it till it is. I think you will have a fairly clear run on this. You can always add to the original game as well, as you already have with your conversations, giving it a unique touch. Vance - not sure if you're referring to me or to Phoenix, but if it's me, thanks, but I'll politely decline your offer. If I will even continue working on the rest of BG, I want to do it my own way (and area constructing happens to be one of my favorite things to do). Right now, though, I'm not even sure if I want to do the rest, seeing as there are at least two others working on the same thing and will probably be able to do a better work than me. So, we'll see. =)

why don't you ask for volunteers to make the areas you need. i'll make one.....just tell me which one.

Phoenix, I think saying your scripts are a mess is being harsh on yourself. They are not and have some good ideas in them. As you said it was incomplete so no one can complain about this. If I took up your mod for completion I would probably remove all the scripts and redo them, which in itself is a big task, but not impossible. I have said to the person who is interested in completing your module that I would help him. Yea I know... My scripts are a mess!

Ok sorry misunderstood you. Having looked at the scripts properly I can see what you mean now. Cheers, Faen _________________________ Sojourney - Menzoberranzan Project Manager Lead Game Designer Lil waela lueth waela ragar brorna - luth wund nind, kyorlin eighinn!!

I don't mean to say hcr itself is flawed, just that the scripts Phoenix adapted to his needs are at least look pretty fishy and flawed to me.

This is an excellent start to a very large project. Having done some of this myself and a lot of game modding I realise just how big a task this will be. I congratulate you on your approach to the conversations, the Infinity Engine (BG1 version) had limitations that the Aurora Engine does not so it makes sense to take advantage of that. I have not used HCR and I see someone mentions it is flawed, I do not know, but my understanding is it is about creating Hard Core D&D rulesets, I would agree to avoid it then. Watch your area sizes, they are too big, need to cut them back a bit. Probably my only real criticism. Hm, I wouldn't touch Phoenix mod - it might take ages to correct the flawed hcr scripts :-/
