Description
As a relatively inexperienced adventurer, it comes as a bit of a shock that Calum has sent for you specifically. You cannot resist the call of this old friend, however... he saved your life many years ago, when you were hardly an adolescent. But he has become a Harper now, and seeks your help. Will you join him as a Harper, given the chance? What path will you follow?
for some reason this mod refuses to be played. go to start a game only to find it's not showing up on the module list in game. i know its there. but the game doesn't show it. part 2 shows up though. any ideas? im at a loss. checked permissions thinking maybe that was the problem, but it wasn't it either. nvm. i removed the .mod extention and changed it to .nwm, opened the game and it showed up. changed it back to .mod and its still there as it should be...very weird.. never had that happen before. _________________________ jml's list of community addons/overrides, etc. Link

While I sort of feel like an easy target for bandits and thieves carrying around all this gold and stuff, I love the continuation of the story. Even for a hack and slash, some of the encounters are a little rough, and I find myself best friends with the quicksave button. Still it is interesting to see just how much loot I can aquire, and I am assuming that the xp from all the kills will come in handy later in the series. I find myself looking forward to putting items together, not only to save space, raise money and experience, but just to see what comes out in the end. Again, the wit and humor are a winner for me. I sort of like the romance idea, even if he is a little forward a little fast... seems kind of 'lusty' not lovey... but that is ok. Can't wait to see how it develops and what sort of back story there is to the past... Over all this is a pretty solid mod, with nice compact maps... just enough to keep you busy, and not enough to overwhelm you. The suprise chests are nice too. I wouldn't mind seeing runes to add other properties besides Stat increases. Like haste or freedom properties, little stuff like that. I do love the fact that its a one time, one enhancement per one item package though, as it prevents uber items. On to three... _________________________ Stupidity kills people. A great start to a fun series

I was really enjoying the adventure, but experienced file corruption with any save from the module (just going to the LOAD page in NwN crashed the program unless I deleted all saves from the game). Has anybody else seen this? I was looking forward to playing these through. bri

Well isn't this a bit of a munchkin adventure. :) Encounters are are one powerful group after another, made up in a "little bit of this and a little bit of that" style. Tigers and bears and wolves hunting in packs! Really now. The adventurers admitting it's odd, doesn't exactly make it right either. The encounters also yield very, very hefty XP and monetary rewards. Never have I had such a load of stuff and cash at such and such level. Not much roleplaying in there to warrant even "medium", mostly just different types of answer with no real difference anyway. Still, it gives a nice amount of flavour, as does the emerging romance. The story and setting are nice, the places suitably compact to make playing pleasant. Despite my few gripes, I enjoyed playing this. Recommended for Hack&Slash fans. PS. Seems rogues don't necessarily have a hard time at all. In fact, I think my Rogue/Shadowdancer/Ranger build is just about perfect. I empathise the strongest animal from the pack and sneak attack the rest with a greatsword. The prisoner stands back, hidden.

I didn't mind the unbeatable dragon or the equally unbeatable Doom Knights in the temple catacombs, because neither encounter was essential to completing the adventure. But I have simply given up trying to defeat the Giant Magelings at the conclusion. My fighter character has an AB of 18 with his weapon of choice (bastard sword +2) and he still can't score a single hp of damage. The prisoner is a useless NPC, because the game engine won't let me, essentially say, "Use your wands, you brainless bimbo!" Is there some trick to defeating them or bypassing them? If not, I guess I will just file this module--along with the PnP version of TOMB OF HORRORS--as unplayable. Too bad. I was really enjoying it up to this point.

I Really liked this one. I love the idea with the surprise chests and I've always fancied mods where you can build up relations with your henchmen. The only yet minor problem is, that she's a little too eager to get a relationsship with my character... that could be because of her situation being a prisoner? That's of course just my opinion, and not that significant to the overall experience. But indeed a well-made mod with lots of depth... keep 'em coming
