In an attempt to save the already doomed city of Sosiane, the PCs arrive to a scene of death and destruction. The terrible Lord Valgozar, the Raging Tempest, has returned! The StormSon and his fanatical followers, the evil Brethren of the Twisted Serpent, have ravaged the town and continue to search for what few refugees were able to escape the initial onslaught. However, Valgozar himself and a large number of his troops seem to be marching toward a remote area of the wilderness, war machines and siege engines in tow. What could the StormSon be planning? The PCs must stop him from finding a way to restore his full and awesome power, or else no force in the land will be able to stop him! Note: A DM's Guide has been posted in the README section of this site; it includes quest summaries and an adventure walkthrough for RoA3 that addresses the storyline changes made in V1.18 and later.

A 10 and why, well I got me a +2 comp longbow, +4 mighty. Having played through part 1 with no magical longbow and most of part 2 with a +1 longbow. Well that is my reason, as pathetic as it might seem. Even so various selection of arrows using quick slot for arrows. Another good mod and once more apologies for the 10 but hopefully any other AA player, playing in hardcore mode can empathise.
I guess there is no part 4 but thanks for the game finished as a 1/6/6 Elf wiz/ftr/AA well short of next level and used Trantus this time with blade of gladiator when found and shield.
Cheers

Couldn't get Pierio to rejoin so went without him. Good end to the storyline.

Hi Jeff,
Really enjoyed the Rites pts 1&2 and will vote on all 3 when complete.
I am in the caves of the lizard men, I have Pierio with me, but when I level up he removes himself from my party and will not speak to me to rejoin. Is there a work around to get him back in the party?
Astero, I am stuck in Part 3. I can't get through the door down the well, and I can't find the traitor in the town. I can't finish the module until I get unstuck. Can you help? My character is powerful and we have had success with the difficult fight in Gamboge Forest but can't go anywhere from there.

I've just finished playing part 3. You've created a great trilogy. Lots of action, different places, a variety of foes, challenging battles. I must say, the resting system should have been less strict. That surely made things hard for my wizard, although, for me, chapter 3 had more balanced fights.
During the final battle the gatewarden appeared hostile but after I killed Lord Valgozar she was friendly. Also the journal entry titled "master of the crypt" wasn't placed on the finished section after I activated the portals. It stayed like that through the whole module.
Other than that, I didn't notice anything out of place. Again, a variety of henchmen continuing their quests. That was nice. No interaction what so ever. That wasn't nice :P.
All in all, a great trilogy, leaving things open for a fourth part but I guess that won't happen. Thanks for a great part of series :)
CatStevens, as you play, if you have any light to shed pass it along in this forum. I am checking back every several days, but until I get some help about getting in the crypt in RoA3, I am not playing, but I would love to finish. Any help would be appreciated, and I of course will return the favor if I can.
Hi CatStevens, or anyone else who is playing. I have gotten pretty far in RoA3, but I can't find the traitor in Riversend nor can I find the crypt that contains the wardstone. I am tired of running my character around, and, once again, I need a break. I'll keep trying for awhile, but any help would be much appreciated, as I am getting discouraged once again.
Thanks, Cat, for your recent response, which I just saw today. I am in RoA3 now, trying to get into the StormGate in the Gamboge Forest, after I have cleared out all the hostiles. I haven't seen a ship yet, or a lot of the locations and characters mentioned in this forum, so I figure I have farther to go than I thought. I think this is a great module, and I have enjoyed it, but I do not think I will go through it again (I am a great repeater) due to the longuers of carrying heavy equipment back to where I can sell it, making my way through mazes, waiting for stores to open, etc.

Apropos RoA3: Hi, Houndiddy; after touring all areas, too, there are some quests left which I cannot finish because of unobtainable items. (I read the RoA2 Readme from nwvaults download page, but I cannot find the items as described.) Nevertheless, I think I solved over 90% of this great chapter 2, and now I went beneath the barn to talk to all henchmen about the items I found for them, to receive exp from them, and to get their rings, amus, boots etc. which I will now carry with me into chapter 3 (RoA3). I recommend you to do it like me ... save your char, load chapter 3 (RoA3) with that char and continue having fun. :-) _________________________ There's an empty space inside me now:

Jeff, I posted in ROA2--don't know if you are still checking on these comments. I am stuck and thinking of abandoning the module, which I don't want to do. I can't find the cave with the portal to the end fight, and I have really tried. Someone please go there and help me, or post here. Thanks!
This third part is too far tough !!! My Priest and my friend Rogue have more difficulty than in parts 1 and 2... :(

Completely forgettable module. If you enjoy being shunted from one generic dungeon to the other and clicking through copy-pasted hordes, this one's for you.

I played this co-op with 2 friends, and it was a very frustrating experience for all involved. The previous 2 parts of ROA had their problems but were ultimately enjoyable. However, we just got too frustrated with ROA3. Each of the enemies seemed to have a dozen CCW potions. Enemies would often heal themselves more often than they fought! If you did manage to kill them quickly, you could pick up their CCW potions, which then gave the PCs too many potions. It just wasn't very fun :\ It should be noted that we played with the Tony K AI pack installed.
Minor quibbles.. no Divining Pool. And I didn't like how players respawn at the location of their death. They should teleport somewhere safe on respawn.

While the story Was solid, much of the module itself seemed to have been copy-pasted from chapter 2. The mini-dungeons were repetitive and generic. As well, the same anti-spellcaster rest system did little to inspire me to complete the module.
I have searched the entire second level of Sanctum Terra and there is no D'rrgrethm'aytar. Am I looking in the wrong place? The Golem on level one said that I would have to fight him. I have found a door that says portal of the lightning pedestal, but I cannot open that.

For the life of me, I can't seem to find the second rune piece in the Land of Fire. I've been all over (the 3 caves and the Crypt) with my thief and am stuck.
Any help would be appreciated.

Amazing. You start out in the mayor's area and this time go under the trap door into a cavern and out into a different world outside Sosaine.
I thought I would be fighting in the city itself, but this author just keeps at his creativity. :)
A rescue in the forest and a battle on the ship are encounters that are unique from other modules and the author ends it like the perfect ending of a chapter. All that's missing is RoA 4. ;) _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Another improvement in the author's mod-making. The technical aspects improved, as well as overall gameplay. Combat was no longer broken up by the need to sell off bunches of loot like in the last mod. Quests were different enough to not make you feel like you've been doing the same thing over and over for hours. However, several issues keep this very solid mod out of the 9 range. The combat was kinda tedious, with bazillions of low xp foes--my Arcane Archer must have refilled a page of her inventory with arrows for every map. The storyline started off gripping, like the prior module, too, but was kind of haphazard by the end. It wasn't a lack of dialogue or bad writing, but just that the plot was kind of forgotten in between the endless combat. I like hack and slash, but it helps to keep supporting your plot throughout. There was also little development of some potentially great enemies. In the end, the author had all sorts of elements to make this an amazing mod, but it ended up just to be a little too thin.

Disappointing module considering the quality of the first two chapters. Most of this module consists of wandering around killing monsters in large and redundant areas and unfortunately there is little to no story development along the way. This module felt like one large sidequest. I'm really hopeing the final chapter is an improvement over this one that returns to storytelling.
