If you are playing The Light Reborn (TLR) as a series, this is part 3. However, it can be played standalone. If you are just playing the HoF modules, this is the module that got into he HoF. A shadow has fallen across the world of Harthe. The arrival of a man, named Samuel, claiming to be a Veranite -- the lost race of kings blessed by the Creator of Harthe with divine power -- causes a stir in the country of Anvid. Could he really be a Veranite? Does he serve the Light, as he says, or is he a deceiver? Samuel gathers heroes across the land to do the will of the Virtues -- the spirits of good that he claims to talk to. You are one such hero. But the power of the Dark does not stand still. Who can resist it? You're on your way to Anvid city to hunt down a Servant of Solanor named Tarnn. Having proven your friendship to The Children (i.e. elves) you now have been granted access to their realm. Your group will pass into the realm of The Children - the first non-elves in centuries!
Libita, I have not heard of this. Has anyone else had problems? I'll go try this out myself when I have time.

IIRC I had an issue with Part 3 where from a certain point on all saves I made were corrupted and couldn't be loaded. Since the files are a bit older, does anyone know of any game-breaking bugs like I described? If I start again from part 1 on, do you know of any unresolved game-breaking bugs I might encounter? _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

More of a whodoneit with some hack&slash at the end. Liked it the best out of the 3 so far. Again no discernable bugs except that my character got stuck on a wall and had to use debug to get her off of it.

Now that's what I'm talking about! That was amazing! (I thought it would take me through registration and let me vote with the other post. Bah!)

Best mod of the series so far, quite linear, but some good RP!

The suspense alone made me not want to stop until I finished the mod. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them. Thanks, Steve

Thanks for the feedback Robert, Yes, the game is very challenging for a wizard. I played it through as a wizard to make sure it was possible, but of course I know what the solutions to the puzzles are. :-) After I completed the game, I realized I needed more interaction with the NPCs (they were originally just designed to help out single players since I intended my modules to be primarily for multiplayer or DM play.) However in TLR 3 I felt the focus was more on single player so I went back and added some dicussion between the player and the NPC on the murder mystery. However, it only comes up under certain conditions and it's possible that you missed those conditions for some reason. Which henchman did you have with you (if any) when you investigated the murder scene? (feel free to email me instead of posting back here.) If it wasn't Rebecca, Joshua, or Shane, then you missed the main NPC interaction that I inserted. Still, overall, the game doesn't have a lot of NPC interaction compared to some modules because I didn't plan it in from the beginning. However, this module has some strengths that most don't. It can be played multplayer cooperative and it's fully enabled for DM play. All the while it's still a great single player module. I really think this is a rarity amongst hall of fame modules. They usually cater specifically to one style of play - usually single player. I feel that most people have totally missed the fact that this is a DMFI module that is also a top notch single player experience. The NPC interactions were unfortunately a casualty of that trade off in some cases.

Just about perfect except that I would have liked more interaction with my henchmen.

Great module! Excellent story and unique, sometimes hilarious, side-quests. Great cut scenes. I didn't observe much interaction with the henchmen (they seemed to be little more than meat-shields in my experience), but the other NPCs were a lot of fun to talk to. Very tight, clean area design. I didn't have to run around a lot, but you still gave the impression of travelling distances where necessary. Beautiful elven city. *Extremely* challenging fights for my Wizard-6; I had to resort to a lot of reloading and "run away to split them up" tactics, but it was not as overwhelming as chapter 2 was. Thanks for the ring of invisibility; it made my fireballs much more effective!
