Demon follows immediately after the Dreamcatcher campaign. You and your companion have married and have mostly retired from a life of adventure. You live in a small cabin in the Sword Coast region, taking care of a new addition to your family. Place in your /neverwinternights/nwn/modules/ folder to play. There's an optional Demon0 module if you'd like to purchase special equipment from the Shadowlords/Dreamcatcher campaigns.
The bad...where's my XP? Experience is the life and history of a character. Level draining by some monster can make sense, but is temporary and can be remedied with spell, scroll or potion. Level draining by Mod Creator just tells me I should have used a starting character and leaves me feeling annoyed. More bad...where's my equipment? A reasonable story explaining the disappearance of my hard-won wealth and equipment would be helpful. Simply stripping it is almost as rude as the xp stripping. My reason for using a high level character is because I choose to...and taking away my choice leaves me with no other choice than to walk away. And more Bad...not giving XP for kills? Nonsense, pure nonsense! In the struggle of (fantasy) life and death one gets experience...if quests alone give experience then mail carriers should get a lot of XP because they show up for work on time and deliver mail every day. The really, really bad...saying this mod is intended for a "level 15" character, and then stripping it down to a penniless, ignorant and unskilled level 1! Please explain, up front, why you think this is necessary. A warning would be nice, then I'd have nothing to gripe about.

Well, the mod is well made. The stories and the graphics the module employ are tops. But it seems the creator based this entire mod on the narrowed assumption that more or most people prefer 'good role-playing even if on level one' rather than seeing their character they love advance in level. Which simply isn't true. Part of me wonders just what the hell is the point of advancing in level if "I'll get the levels back." The module is well made as all hell, but I'll probably just create a new character for this module instead.

Thanks Adam for this brilliant mod! I'm VERY grateful I found this jewel here in the vault. I loved and enjoyed it much, although at the begginning I were a little upset about all those xp and stuff I gathered in Shadowlords and Dreamcatcher with hard work. :) (Well, like some others, I absolutely HATE this strip items&xp stuff, so you nearly broke my heart with that... The only reason I continued playing was the trust in you, after all your other mods are among in my favorites. Well, in the end, I were NOT disappointed.) This is one of the greatest modules! My other problem was about the romance. Since I used Teira from the very begginning as a companion(a thief is really useful), it was sad that I had to leave her alone this time... and choose Nooble as my monk's husband. :) The other few flaws were explained above if I remember well. (These were: 1. the pit fight 2. in Omels those dialogues with full of CutosTokens which were not worked 3. hm, xp-stripping - I agree to JR in this.) Despite of these I loved it. Good job. _________________________ "Oh, bless me, angel!" asks me a guy. "I'm a dark angel" with smile I reply. "Have no blesses in my purse, What about a hellish curse?"

About a year and a half ago, I tried to play this mod and stopped soon because I met several unplayable bugs It seems that there were several similar bug-reports since then, but no response from the author. But it seems that there was some updates. Do anybody know if those bugs were treated? The bugs I met were * Monodron arrows don't work correctly, * Demon card was unplayable. NWN application crashes when I try "rearrange cards" or something. * Cannot enter the tower in the city though my PC pays 10gp. Clicking the entrance does not let the PC in. I really enjoyed the first 2 parts of the campaign but largely disappointed by this mod due to many bugs. But that was late 2005. If those bugs have been fixed since then, I want to try this again.

I don't get it... how can anyone possibly have ANYTHING negative at all to say about this mod? Nothing in it was hard to figure out, and for those who got confused there was the *huge* readme. The story was wonderful; especially when you consider that you've been able to follow your companion ever since the first Shadowlords mod. I don't see how anyone else could possible top this one. I'd give it 20 out of 10 if I could. Adam Miller is the NWN God.

I've played all the series and need to go back and vote. Couldn't find my username/password for the longest time... Spoilers The card game itself would be worth a 10. I played the Beastmaster deck with a few extra(?) fireballs thrown in, and one or two magics... I played with Tiera (?) the thief/wizard as a thief and played with her all the way from Shadowlords1 thru Dreamcatcher to Demon. Wow. I may go back and try Nooble. My first attempt at Shadowlords I played a druid, and I tended to die unless I had Tiera (the thief) in Shadowlords 1. So I went back and became a paladin for the series and worked with Tiera exclusively. I'll try some other variation later. Thank you again for these major contributions to the modules, and finally getting to meet Bobo. If only I weren't a paladin demon then maybe I could pretend to be Bobo, but it was never meant to be. Alas, poor Bobo... Best wishes...

I have just a question, in the city (don't remember the name now) i have noticed various tipe of demon (dranconic type) red, blue. black green and gold)it would be a nice thing if the demon apparence will be based on character alignement (a lawful good character cannot be happy to play a red dragon demon the essence of evil :)

Man, I've no idea why everyone's ragging on the story. I've played this module near-religiously (insofar as Anera is concerned... >_>;;), and I love it. I mean, sure, you're given a set background and a set goal, but c'mon. It's still a good story, if you get a feel for it. The only irk I have with this module is the urgency, or rather, the lack thereof. You'd think parents looking for their kids would be more concerned, but this module's story is a bit slow-paced as far as the main storyline goes. You can deviate from it, goof of on side quests, whatever. I mean, I must've spent near 20 hours playing Demon Cards before deciding to finally go on with the main quest... Still, this is my favorite of the entire storyline/series, particularly because of the story. Rather than being some boring ol' adventurer with a multitude of background stories that can't be touched, this module gives you a background, gives you a story. It's like a movie, but better (though now that I think about it, that's not saying much, considering the tripe coming out of Hollywood these days...). 10/10. -- Griffinhart _________________________ "My word is my honor.
