Description
SK1 A New Beginning is designed to be a starting adventure for either a solo character or a group of 1st level characters. The module assumes the characters are young, inexperienced and are just about to 'come of age', when a cruel twist of fate shatters their lives forever...

Quite enjoyable and worked well in multi-player. Has a nice low-level setting and feel ... perfect for those who liked the "Saleron's Gambit" series but don't want quite as many restrictions.

Some bugs, none show stopping though and a nice little introduction to SK2. really sad the series never got finished though:(

Fun starter module. The dialog needs some work.

A farmer into a fighter. Best mod for that yet. You are forced to fight and the story goes well as a tale of a regular farmer.
Love how the Oak Inn was underground as well as the layouts of the goblin caves coming up from underwater.
A PERFECT mod for beginner NWNers. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
Thanks,

Wow.
Just want to say thanks to everyone who've voted on my modules. Really chuffed to make HoF..even after all this time.
A changelog would be most appreciated - the same goes for SK 2 :-)

An enjoyable little romp with some superior custom content. Continuity problems, frame rate slows considerably in town. _________________________ Old School

When your family and friends are killed inside the barn I suggest you make there corpses loot able or at least static. I think it would add a lot to the horror the PC are witnessing before them. You get the general idea with a few piles of treasure around the room (the modules current method) but nothing really brings it home like actually seeing your Aunt Pol lying in a pool of her own blood.

Ah! I had a older version. I downloaded the newer version and it's working great now.

Hmm. I try to open the module only to get a missing hak error code. I have downloaded the haks; it looks like there is a possible file name error. Any feed back would be helpful. Thanks.

:( Unfortunatly things seem to be irevicably stuck... the guests are scatterd in the house and though I can help Aunt Pol serve dinner and she warns the yungens about Goblins in the area and I say "Realy" the conversation seems to end there...
will try again from the startbut get old Elgin to give me my stuff and situp first

Very Much enjoying the look and feel of your modul even though I've only just started...
I have noticed two things you might like to know
1) the dc_genericdoors1.Hak included in the seems to have a more recent version from a other mod (sorry dont know which one :o ) its seems to have been released a week later ie 20th and not the 13th as your one was and is also a little bigger, Dont know if it is a problem will inform you if I encouter one
2) The Problem of the dinner guest All being at the table and Aunt Pol still not serving dinner does seem to occure, I produced it by telling every one to come to dinner exept Old man Elgin and then returning to the House and talking to Old man Elgin he then gave me my special equipment as I was playing a Sor. I then talked to him again asking him to come to dinner which he then did... But Pol still didn't Serve dinner... :(
I managed towork around this by...
telling All the guests again to go to dinner which had the effect of scattering them through out the room :( and the leaving the house to reenter to the "TADA" fanfair and journal update all guests ready for dinner...
now having said all that I'm going to have dinner too :P

Well yeah as Chuey says. One of the farm workers will relate to your characters class, hand over a little customised equipment and exp to get you going. I'd like to think a little exciting and diffrent in itself. Also, in West Fields, there are a few creatures if you fancy an early challange...
Personally thats what caught my attention about this module and made me want to play it. Little things like that just start off the story nicely. Specially that depending on your class each person may have something to say! _________________________ Dont Panic!!
Sorry Phil....dunno what to say. You can fined all the farmers in about 10 mins, and you are mean to only be farm hands...

seriously this very first quest is keeping me from the rest of the module. hell no i'm not going to be an errand boy. This quest is even more stupid than the famous "clean my cellar from rats" quest.
And that's a pity. I really wanted to play the entire module, but i have no patience left for these kinds of "quests" anymore.

Hi kelticpete,
There are actually 8 people you need to find for din-dins.
2 (Conner and Jenks) can be found just outside the main farm house.
Mrs Shoram can be found in the Barn
Dess Ran is in the storage area next to the barn.
3 more farmers can be found in west fields and Elgin is in the main farm house along with Aunt Pol.
Sorry, Im at work and cant remember everyone of the NPCs names...
As a note, Ive discovered a nice script which Ill update SK1 with. It will keep track of who ( and who you havent) found.
