An Epic level solo module. You are approached by a woman whose husband died at sea months ago. She asks you to confront Death himself to return her beloved back to her.

I really enjoyed this atmospheric story. Nice writing. Some nice scripting in there too.

A wonderfully atmospheric, well-written module that deals with questions of life and death in an intelligent and thoughtful manner, and which manages to have an epic feel while avoiding the usual save-the-world cliches. Only downside was the that combat was too easy. Although, I doubt I'll replay this again, I enjoyed the experience of playing it.

Pretty easy for an "epic" module and minimal story and loot, but it was a good story idea so it's worth a try.

I enjoyed playing this very much. The story was great. Thanks for making this!

Absolutely awesome! Excellent writing, must have been one of the best stories I've ever played. Great action and atmosphere, and on top of it it makes you think. Two different endings and both are beautiful.
I don't mind linearity when a story's that good. Besides, you can decide on the order of the quests yourself. And yes, the combats may have been a little easy for the most time, but I guess that also depends on the equipment and gold you bring into this mod since there's no item strip. It could have been very difficult with a poorly equipped character. And personally I prefer reading over reloading over and over again. :)

I really enjoyed this mod Chris! Good atmosphere, excellent characters, and the ending was excellent! Oh yea, like ShushiCW, I feel I could retire my character too.... Heck, he could have done a lot worse! Mmmmm, I wonder if Death could use him again for another adventure, you know, sort of ressurect him again to perform a special mission.... one that would would be of interest to the hero to accomplish. Oh yea, did I tell you it was a great 5 hrs of fun and thought? Thanks for your hard work! Hope to see more of your stuff too! _________________________ Durned Elf..

An extremely good module. It's only downside is its linearity, but that didn't bother me too much. Combat was mostly easy for my Sorc 22/Fighter 1, although a couple of fights proved to be a challenge. Dialogue was well-written and convincing, and philosophical in a very good way. I liked the lack of a simple "good vs evil" plot: the module takes you to meet a number of different kinds of characters, many of which come as a surprise.
The ending was amazing, and very satisfying. So satisfying, that I decided it would be a good place to retire my character.

funny and interesting game

A good Epic tale seasoned well with rich descriptive writing. I actually enjoyed the slower pace of the gained XP; only gaining a single lvl within the mod; went from 20th to 21st. But this mod was well designed for making this jump from past adventures of growth into future Epic play with my chosen character.
Far too linear for me to gain top marks, especially at the start. Some areas seemed needless, as almost nothing was seen, said, or done to merit exploration. But a strong second half and conclusion make it memorable.

This is an interesting module that meets a high standard of editing. I encountered no bugs and did not notice any grammar or spelling errors - a true rarity. The module is a little short - I gained a single level and seems to lack side quests. Overall, I would definitely recommend this one.

An excellent short module. Atmospheric, with well-written dialogs and an immersing story. My char was a level 22 fighter. Combats were easy but it didn't bother me, somehow it just made sense, being a renowned hero and all. The ending was superb, I reloaded to experience both options. The one where I chose to live is my favorite. The conversation between Death and the widow really moved me. My complain, side quests seemed a little repetitive and the reaction of some npcs felt a little excessive. Other than that I can't think of anything that bothered me. Well done!

Congratulations on creating the most literate, well-written mod I have ever encountered.
My only complaint is that it's too short.

Great short mod, Played it in a day. Very fun very good. I played as a lvl 17/5 Ranger/Harper finished up as 18/5 great fun.

Good story to spend a few hours with your epic PC, although I found the design a bit repetitive (3 missions, 3 bodyparts, 3 foes, etc). Alas, the reference to Greek mythology had raised my expectations for Hercules' type of adventures...
Although I haven't play the prior HoF modules from this author, I also noticed many item descriptions which likely referred to the world developed in those mods (as confirmed in the readme file). I'll give them a try in the future.

Reading the walkthrough, I found what a message about some rocks not being there before meant... but the related event never happened. I wonder if the corresponding script/trigger might have been broken with recent NWN patches? Nothing major enough to stop playing the mod, but wondered if anyone had this problem as well, or if my PC only lack proper skills/spells/equipment.
I'm really tempted to vote 0 for this module because of the dialogue bugs (I vote 1.0 for anything that sufficiently breaks the game for me), but instead I just won't bother voting at all this time, since hopefully the bugs will be ironed out at some time and I can try this module again as it seems intriguing.
I finally clued in with the dialogue bugs when I explored the Evana Daler conversation.
It starts with 2 options for the PC to speak, and they are both innocent sounding enough to move things along, except the second option terminates dialogue.
So I reload and try the first. Next set of options: I choose "uh huh", and again dialogue aborts with no feedback from Daler.
I got tired of reloading, so I quit.
Tried this a year ago with a pure fighter and got smashed a couple of times early on (may be it was just bad luck). this time I took my Monk/Fighter/WM in and although he is only level 19 overall I had no problem finishing the module.
This is the best module of Chris Huntoon IMHO.
* Minor Spoilers *
I did reload twice but I could have avoided that easily (some traps might be deadly and fighting a boss with half HP only may not be a good idea).
I was expecting the twist at the end and indeed it was right there. Survived the ordeal and walked away free.
If only I could get some alignment shift on the way the module would be perfect.

I liked it a lot. Lots of hack with some good story elements. The ending was'nt so much as a 'supprise', but almost, welcolmed. Thanks a lot for the 'ride'.

Hmm, really wish that this site allowed editing of work, I seem to have responded to page 3 rather than page 1. Nothing to see here.

Me, I don't care all that much about easy or hard combats, as long as they do the job to tell the story. I find most mods and games that talk about the difficulty of combat to be tedious, though I do understand that's not a popular opinion. Playing an epic wizard, most of the fights here were ended with Bigby's Crushing Hands followed by damage, so I can see how the fights might be considered too easy, but I was throroughly entertained by the game nevertheless.

Everything worked, the story was excellent. I don't think it's a very replayable module, but it had a tight story and was properly atmospheric. Some lines appeared to come from some of my favorite comics, and probably other sources I missed, but that's all to the good.

This is a really great mod. Real roleplaying choices, unexpected plot twists, good but balanced loot, good environment design, good battles - you hit all the marks. Great job.
***SPOILER***
Found a glitch in the Ring of Wishes. You can continue to click on the "genie" which restarts the dialogue and he'll grant you another wish, as many times as you click on him. If you ESC from the dialogue, he hangs around and you can come back and get more wishes!
