Description
'Do you have it?' 'Yes, it is now in my possesion.' 'It is a great burden for the one who carries it, but I think they have chosen the right one.' 'I hope so.' 'You are quite young. So was I, when it was given to me. Remember, the faith of mankind was entrusted to your hands. You can only hope for peaceful times as long as you are the one who has to carry it' This campaign uses parts of the hardcore ruleset as well as Sentur Signe's lootable corpse system and the XP, dialogue and message trigger system from Bioware's 'Witch's Wake'. A unique container system will make sure that in multiplayer no one comes away empty-handed, and stores will not buy everything but only items they are really interested in. The story takes place in a custom made medieval world, comparable to the time of the Dark Age, where an old order had broken and a new one was about to emerge. I would be glad to receive remarks and reports about bugs, as well as ideas which could improve the module.
I have to say that this is the most frustrating, challenging and downright satisfying module I have ever played. There are some great things about this module - the cut scenes are very effective and made the story atmospheric. The XP system makes a lot of sense and for once I wasn't rushing blindly into combat. I loved the way that loot and trading was handled (through conversation)... very slick! Normally I am a bit of an explorer and need to uncover every inch of a map but this time I was just happy to find the exit ... lol I don't usually play HCR stuff but found that the hardcore stuff that was used increased my sense of urgency. There were a couple of niggles - mainly getting stuck behind placeables and having to reload a previous save to escape and such like but all in all they are relatively minor points. Stefan - you say that English isn't your main language but there weren't many errors and I loved the way you write coversations. All in all a great job.

I can't be bothered with anything these days, but such is life. I don't care. So it goes. More or less nothing seems worth thinking about. I've just been hanging out waiting for something to happen, but that's how it is.

I have to say...never seen a module this good.

I played the mod thru and really enjoyed it. Cut scenes were cool, but I liked the way the events flowed from one to the other. Nice job instilling a sense of urgency, especially in the beginning. In my opinion one of the better mods out, and I have played a few of those "highly rated" but low quality ones. Personally I like the way you did the gaining and selling of items. Seems a little more realistic to me. Good job! I eagerly await the next installments.

Thanks for your comment. I started to work on part II, but somehow my concept did not work as I wanted it to. I'll continue on the series with the release of NWN II. The graphics and sound of the game are way to outdated by now in my opinion.

The mod is quite good to play, especially with a very stealthy characters. I'd improve a couple of things: SPOILERS Telling the player that the tavern in the village is a good place to rest, and then putting them two archer inside that have fair chance to kill the player was actually very evil :) At least give a message like "looks like a place to rest but there's some noise coming from the inside" The final knight is honestly way too difficult to kill, at least for some classes like monk and rogue, don't know about wizards, suppose they can but they'll have quite a difficult time to reach him... I believe he should be debuffed a little, especially his AC of more than 21 is way too much. I liked the finding system, faster than usual NWN, and without many useless random junk, of course after a while you'll need to open and order your inventory but that's no problem. The buy/sell system was good too but I had other things to sell, like a long bow and a leather armor that I couldn't give to the hunters. Quite strange. And of course I loved you cutscenes, in prologue and during the game. Good prologue mod, some fight are bit tough but there's no XP for them so a stealthy character is advised. The story seems interesting enough and there's a very good and frequent use of cutscenes. It feels quite cinematic and areas are well designed too. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested Contributor to Overlooked Module Reports An interview with me about NWN mods

Well, with a familiar summoned and color spray you should have no problems.
