You have escaped the outer planes where you have been imprisoned for eons! You will once again control this world! Unfortunately, others have likewise escaped through those shadowy places and have the same plans as you. Module features a hybrid melding of Roleplaying and Real Time Strategy. You CAN control a large army in this module or you can adventure with no reguard for armies. It is likely you will do both. This is an extremely updated version of a module which was released over a year ago to a lot of aclaim. It is listed as not final due to some very distant plot quest related things needing to be completed. It is likely you will never notice them missing until I have made the changes. The original version was Coauthored by Jeremy 'Diabolus' Greene. Maps, Strategy Guide, and more included with the module. Copy the MOD into MODULES, TLK into TLK, and HAK into HAK. Extract additional HAK to HAK directory.
By default when I play Undead the challenging AI does not start hitting hard for about 45 minutes to an hour. That is with default challenging AI. I can usually make it to 10th level before that happens. The slaves use a different follow script and are definately NOT the brightest of things. They will eventually get to you though.

Most times this game is played multiplayer it is by people announcing ahead of time and planning a game. I think the biggest I have played in had around 16 people. That was very fun. As to the AI. First.. it is a cheating AI. It does not actually collect resources. Also, making them not collect or cause soul token drops reduced lag a lot due to some really heavily littered battle fields. Futhermore, the AI is completely customizable in the starting room in the control panel. By default it is on EASY for new people which is VERY limited. Change it to challenging, or better yet choose modified challenging and tweak the AI behavior yourself through the menus. You can also specify how fast AI leaders level up. The level of the leader of an AI determines the types of things it sends out and does. It is possible to set the AI to be almost impossible to defeat. But, yes, the EASY AI that is default is very simple. This is so people can learn the game and map before getting pounded by better AIs. :) I hope that clarified things. There are litterally 100s of menu driven options you can set for this game in the first room before playing. You can enable some features that are turned off by default. You can tweak some values if you are experiencing LAG, etc. It is highly customizable. It has more options to customize than most store bought games. 1.26 will have even more. :) Heh, and if you think it is too easy... contact me about beta testing 1.26. I have not reduced the difficulty of the new wandering monster bands yet and it is way tough. ;)

well i found out lvl 5 vampires really really lag things up even on single player... and AI controlled teams cant seem to do anything but send scouts and cant really collect souls on their own ( plus id love to see this on bioware online but dotn see many vault multiplayer modules online so i really doubt it)

Actually, the story is the weakest part of this module. It started out as a prototype and we had no idea how it would work. So, it ended up working well and we had several interviews. We have been adding features since that time but, the story is still the weakest area. This module is dynamic and plays different each time. I do have a lot done on version 1.26 but, need to tweak it a bit to be newbie friendly as it is VERY difficult as is. So, until I balance 1.26 a bit more it will not be released here. It also will introduce a new HAK pack... and will be a rather large download but, will likely be the last update I do for HoS for awhile. There are still some more features I want to add into 1.26 as well before releasing it.... anyone interested in beta testing let me know.

Well, yes generally speaking an EXE is larger than a RAR file. I could RAR the EXE though. I am open for suggestions on what you think would make this module more accessible to the public. It is important because, the next release will have a new HAK and a new TLK file. I added some content for sure. Too bad I didn't wait for Bioware's nifty sharks and stuff. :( I didn't know they were working on it. So, I used the ones in the community. I may change this before releasing 1.26. Also, check my guild on the bioware boards if you are interested in beta testing 1.26 as I work on it. It is a tremendously huge update... a lot of it is completed but, still have a lot to do.

Just a quick question, will the .exe route for 1.26 mean a smaller download than the .zip or .rar routes?

Harvest of Souls is one of the premier group PvP modules. Grab a bunch of friends and start up a server and have at it! Full of goodies and very customizable. Best when played with at least 6 or more players. Also, read the documentation before just starting. It will make for a better experience.
