Description
The Neverwinter snowflakes are small, single player, stand alone modules for Neverwinter Nights. They are set in The Forgotten Realms campaign setting. As you travel through the land of Cormyr, news reaches you of a call for mercenaries needed for the defence of the town of Danathin. More information is scarce but you decide to answer the call. There is a 12000 gold reward after all. As events unfold however, the situation becomes more complicated, and you will need more than skill in battle to survive. This module contains system intensive large battles. Therefore there are two mod files included in this folder. The low spec version contains trimmed down battles and is recommended for machines below 1.5 ghz. however, it is not as much fun! Now fixed the gold and the respawning.
Thanks to my playtesters, everyone who helped with or contributed to the CEP and of course, Bioware.

All of the NWS series are excellent and short story-based adventures. Worth playing.

Bleargh, my post was eaten twice in a row. A good snack of a module.

These work real great as independent snacks.
If you happen to have a character around of suitable level, by all means have a go.
The way I'm going, as a kind of series, doesn't seem quite as workable.
High quality polished products.
Spoilers* I couldn't begin to manage the last fight with a cleric/fighter. I had to just run straight to the tent. Failed the sneak test of course, but still made it there ahead of the pursuers.

BTW, I couldn't begin to handle the loyalist fight as a cleric/fighter,
so I had to just run straight to the tent, and even then I had severe difficulties.
"We need an edit function!!"
You're not kidding. I made two mistakes in two consecutive posts. And that's _with_ a spell-checker in my browser. ;-)

Immersive, tightly-written story that illuminates the characters without resorting to either pedantry or caricature (which for some bizarre reason seems to be considered necessary by many for fantasy work). The more I've come back to NWN,the more I've come to the conclusion that the play really is the thing -- story, character, and dialog make a module worth playing. Visuals, sounds, combats, and all the rest provide the ambiance, but without a good story populated by real people, it's all like a tricked-out hotrod without the spark plugs -- it looks great, but it's going nowhere.
This module accomplishes that, and even better, does it with superb craftsmanship. The module itself is small, but the conversations are even smaller, and there are no wasted words to be found (unlike this rambling post).
Usually, I can find any number of flaws with the story and/or dialog of most of the modules that I've run across, and usually I pass over them because professional writing (and especially professional dialog) is rare under any circumstances. This may well be the first time that I can remember being simply impressed by the quality of the dialog. Thank you.

This module comes very highly recommended. I was thinking of taking a break from NWN2 to try it out. Do you think adding cep2 (by myself of course)to module properties would cause any scripting errors?

Great game. The only disappointing thing is that I didn't realize it ended and kept replaying with different choices to try to get the game to keep moving forward.

This is a very good short module. Wonderful work in setting an evocative scene and establishing an intruiging story and then creating a strong resolution all in the space of an hour or so. Extra points for giving the player a meaningful role to play, and interesting decisions to make.
I'll second many of the comments below. This module outclasses many works ten times the size. In particular, it feels far more meaningful than many an epic "save the world" adventure.
Thanks Sethai, this was fun. I just put a character through it, and put her straight through again to try the other plot line. I'm going to put her through the other "snowflakes" next.

Another short and well-builded module with solid NPCs that provide an interesting interlude between 2 longer modules. There was a reasonable amount of items to collect but my level 11 PC didn't get more than 2,500 xp in total, even by removing the 4 unnamed Purple dragons from the party before the final battle, which was a bit easy.

A short, well written story module featuring more great moments than many longer modules.

I just love these NWS mods. They certainly are among my favorites. Good stories and writing, tragic and thought-provoking choices, well-developed NPCs. And the idea of making small independent modules for a single setting (Forgotten Realms - the setting in which these little stories seem to be very well immersed) is something I really appreciate. I thought that I might have had some constructive critical remarks, but having thought about them a bit, I don't think they would have been justified, after all. This is a carefully constructed module. Thanks, Sethai. I hope you haven't wholly left the community; I'd love to see some new NWSs some day. : ) _________________________ Forgotten Realms Weave

Played through it in one sitting, as intended. I didn't encounter any bugs, and the story/action flowed nicely. My character was rather overpowered, but that's the result of the mod I'd gone through prior. This module gave me a whole new appreciation for short, one-sitting mods.

Very very short so I can't give it more than a 9. Still the story is as good as they gets, very dramatic and interesting with a nice epilogue revelation and possible different choices. As with all the others NWS it is a bit too easy, but that is likely to be the problem with the equipment of the imported character. Still the mod is about story and even if combat is easy it's still well executed. Two thumbs up. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

An interview with me about NWN mods

By far the best of the NWS modules. This story affected me a lot more, emotionally, than many other longer and more "renowned" modules have. While I don't agree with *all* ideas presented in the story, and I don't consider both warring factions in the game to be morally equal, the end result of choosing a side made my character seem just a tad less innocent. If this module has a "theme", IMO it is that choosing to be heroic will sometimes put blood on your hands.

Hey Sethai - I've played all the NWS's. They were great - the whole idea of producing such small FR adventures is very nice. I'll probably be playing these again at some point; I'll vote then, not now that I don't remeber them very well. But they were excellent (the requirement for some real deliberation about what to do...that's great) - that much I do remember! I hope you're still working on some new stuff! Any news? _________________________ Forgotten Realms Weave
