Cania, the Eighth Level of Hell, was once your domain. By his truename, you forced Mephistopheles, Lord of the Eighth, to serve you. Through him, you commanded an army ravaging Faern. But the jealous gods schemed against you. Mystra and Eilistraee took the knowledge of truenames from you and released Mephistopheles from his bindings. Mephistopheles rallied an army and plunged Cania into civil war. Rivals seized the opportunity to take up arms against Mephistopheles, which blunted the attack upon you. But months have passed and Mephistopheles has the upper hand. His army besieges your castle. This sequel to The Gods Themselves requires: 1.65 + SoU + HotU
Well , being a supreme lazybones, I am just getting around to voting for the hundred or so worthy mods I think warrant votes. This module is top notch. I went through a Campaign, starting with Shadows of Undrentide, then TomG's SQ1, then Hordes ,becoming a PaleMaster and using Messy's True Name in the end, then onto your post hordes gems. Your post Hordes series has a great story, immpressive dialogue, no bugs.My PaleMaster hated fighting Mystra though.8) I will be waiting for your next work. Thx for the great fun.

I was hungry for this module after having completed the previous one, "The Gods Themselves". Although I still think the Gods Themselves was a bit more fun, the quality in this one is top notch just like your other three. I only found one bug that was rather annoying. ***SPOILERS*** The bug that I found involved the Paladins in the "Distraction" quest. After I set them free and the Cut scene ended the camera was stuck. I also found that if I didn't run in the opposite direction that they were headed it caused the module to crash every time. Ultimately I just skipped that part, which is unfortunate. I also have a suggestion: Since the mod is rather linear anyway, I would suggest putting something in there to prevent the player from entering the city until the user either has the Dragon's Heart or the potion. I'm not sure if there is something that prevents that already, and if so this can be over looked. However, I had to reload and retrace my steps twice once due to the crashing mentioned above and once because I didn't know about the Dragon. (I just happened to read the Walkthrough after I saw some comments here.) Anyway despite these two things this module is still excellent, and of extremely high quality. I highly recommend it.

I liked the way this story continued, particularly since escaping the hells provides nearly limitless possibilities for a sequel. Once again, the writing was excellent and the story followed a logical progression. While the NPC dialogue could be expanded a bit and one of the boss encounters became a bit tedious for my weaker character, this is an overall great game and worthy successor to the first.

Haildodge - Nice job. My favorite parts of the mod were the story, the setting, and the Cania you created. The stuff about the moving glacier bearing down on the opposition was real cool, as was the Hellfire concept. I never grade mods down for being short (quality beats quantity any day), but I did think Mephistar could have been more elaborate and offered more obstacles en route to the Citadel. My other problem was the way you balanced combats. I read the ReadMe and knew that my weapon (acquired fair and square in HOTU) would be overpowered. I also knew my character (F5/R5/As19) was high in level as I tend to suck every XP out of the OC's that I can... That said, since this was a sequal to HOTU, I thought you should have balanced it for the powerful gear available in that mod. But that's minor stuff compared to your story telling and scene setting ability. This series was lots of fun and a great reason to dust off that evil HOTU character. A fitting sequal to the Gods Themselves, though I thought Gods was a little better (I gave it a 10). Scripting, cutscenes, areas and especially the story were very compelling. The one complaint I have is that the great majority of the combats were too far on the easy side. _________________________ El Dano Black Thorn -- a Forgotten Realms mystery adventure for levels 23-27. This series seems very, very nice. It seems (from the descriptions of the modules) like the author has been able to generate a story line that really is appropriate for an epic level (and evil) character. I'm currently playing HotU again, with an eye on the sequel that Papermonk is working on. However, as he's planning to take the player to somewhere around the 30th level, perhaps there is a chance that the storylines can be combined in a way such that I could continue with this series when I'm done with that. I take it that The Gods Themselves can be started with a level 30 character. Oh, well, I should play these anyway, and not be so picky with regard to consistent character development! Anyway, this is just to express some endorsement: Seems great! I hope I'll find the time to play these. _________________________ Forgotten Realms Weave
