Description
(June 10, 2008) Some dialogs ameliorations made by Ginni in preparation of the release of Episode III.
(May 3, 2007) Removed the parchment that was in front of the castle doors (it was a short-cut for testing and not meant to be in the actual module)
A big thank too to all those who have taken part in this translation project: firstly Kaelidan, who has nurtured this project for more than 9 months... Eo Nomine and Tamburlane, who have the good taste to be bilingual... And all the others: Goran, Mohunga, Tim Dedopoulos, Berndt Wolff, Kael's girlfriend, J.Macles, Kirian Dunbir etc...AND, last but not least Moreen Carvan who has made a great tester job!
SETTING: You will play in an altenate medieval Europe around the XIII° or XIV° century...France and Burgondy are enemies, for the last one took its independency 150 years before...
STORY: Your character is a rather famous mercenary. He has been dallying abroad and has decided to come home. He is an illegitimate son (namely a bastard) of the family of the Count of Kosigan, vassal of the Duke of Burgundy.
On his arrival in Kosigan he is invited into the castle cellars by one of his old acquaintances: Slynt Carrayan, head of the famous Gray Guard...
Last version 3 may 2007
Note that if you don't have the english version of NWN you will encounter few translation problems (nearly only with creatures and objects names and descriptions)...Nevertheless, you should be able to understand the story without any difficulty. (you feel free to send me reports so that I can improve the translation for your version of the game).
IF YOU THINK THAT THE FIGHTS ARE REALLY TOO DIFFICULT, please lower the difficulty level of the game or/and take a higher level character with better equipment.
Well I personally very much enjoyed the story. Like the others had much crashes, but the story is the most important thing for me. Complex, interesting and to my liking. So my score is 10. PS: cannt get Master Lodaus placeholder tough I met him and talked with him even about heartgems... :/

Like it's predecessor this mod is well written, complex, and the options to rp really give you're pc real character instead of turning his into another boyscout with a hero complex... And in my opinion this mod should be one of the few mods that deserve a score above but for all fairness I just can't give it that score no mater how good the story is. The frequent crashes while loading really destroy any enjoyment and the lack of a walkthrough ( which is quite necessary in a mod this complex ) are major downsides. I ussualy do like to find solutions to quests on my own but since reloading is such a pain (sometimes it takes a dozen tries to load properly) I cant really (just don't have the patience) go back and explore every option. The least you guys could do is post a in which order you should visit the areas to fully enjoy the game, so you avoid situations like trying to convince Myrina (was that her name??) in Arcourt to not go through with her contract despite the fact that I had no clue of what contract my pc was talking about.... Fix these issues and I will change my vote.

The bastard son of Kosigan is a real nice series I do hope that Ginni will translate the rest of the series thanks to you both for these fine mods. About the crashes when loading savegames in episode2: For me it worked to set all "Video" and "Sound" settings to minimum and load the savegame then, though it happened that it still crashed from time to time but by slightly changing the video options to a higher value (texture quality and size) I always got my savegame to load none of them were actually corrupted.

This was a great RP mod and one I plan on playing again as soon as part V has been translated by the wonderful Ginni! Geez! I almost cringe to think of other mods we all may have missed because there isn't anyone who is willing or able to put in the time necessary to translate them for those of us who are solely English speaking players! Ginni, my thanks for this. It is a great piece of work and I look forward to replaying it with all 5 parts! _________________________ Well...who would have thought THAT would happen? No crashing problem to me. Everything ok...and excellent work!! I'm very very impressed by the series so far! And I wonder how it will end.

My saves started corrupting again, but I think I found a fix. I went into the currentgame folder in my NWN folder and deleted the saved game in there. I was then able to load my old saves which had stopped loading.

I might have figured out a solution to the crash on saved loads. Unfortunately, it requires you to start over if you're running into this problem mid-mod. I opened the module in the toolset and recompiled it. I'm now playing the recompiled version. So far, I've tried 4 saves - two normal and two quick. Only one quicksave failed to load, so far. I'm optimistic. :D

Has anyone figured out what causes NWN to crash when loading saved games? Im early enough in the module where starting over isn't too big of a deal, but I don't like using the respawn option. I played through Exile yesterday without any issues. I can't recall any other mod that gives me these sort of problems. I'm using the final patch with the most recent versions of the mods and haks on Vista.
