@Taltamir: try Eryn for good characters, Odam for evil
Bug Report:
- typos: "thier" - Tyrina; "ceatures" - great tome in the sisters of mist library
- respawning encounters are bad in 95% percent of cases if not on PW
- early start is little clichee
- higwaymen quest: you may kill them before receiving quest to get rid of them and receive journal entry mentioning getting the quest
- if you try to renegotiate your deal in loban shield quest, even if you succeed in persuade check and Loban says he will give you estate and gold, you only get gold and don't get the key and deeds
- Dark Araina(henchman) has a crossbow but instead of bolts dhe has got arrows in her starting eq.
- Dark Araina sometimes has problem with helping me in the fight especially when I initiate stealth mode, she won't attack when I do
- some backtracking
- Loban's daughter quest is broken: after having learned about his daughter from blackmarket merchant mayor acts as we already talked about it
- you can destroy runestone of enchancement in the well of void
- in rock cave encounters spawn in behind you
- there are not enough bags of holding
- apparitions: where are they? Found only 2, captured only 1
- Faulden(blackmarket guy) offers information that is no use to me(like after killing the thieves he advises me how to get to them) or repeats himself(loban's daughter for example)
- managerie was way too much into the module, didn't finish it because of this, maybe you should find some message about it and have special "jars" or other containers for capturing those creatures. Also if the gnome would be more specific on what kind of creatures he wants.

Really excellent module; one my all time favorites. Really cool story, and the world is very, very well developed. There are so many different paths to follow, that you almost feel forced to replay it a couple of times just to see the different ways that things work out depending on the choices you make.
Combat can be very difficult at times, perhaps overly difficult in a few places. And while there is some really decent gear available, a lot of it is too expensive to afford. But, on the other hand, there are tons and tons of ways to get free gear, potions, etc by solving various mini-quests.
One word of advice; stock up on all sorts of buffing potions, staves, rods, whatever you can use before even thinking about going after the main baddies. You'll know who I mean before you get to them. You WILL need protection and healing ;)
All in all this is a great module. Very well developed, and well worth playing.
I looked through the readme and I can't find a list of approved / appropriate deities for this module. _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!

The best module I have ever seen. All is very pains-taking and the scripts are of the best quality. It is just very tricky. An imperfection ?
Yes : the Soveris book tome 2 must be accepted only after being constable but it is true that Brother Sandow can be pick-pocketed if you have choosen to be a rogue...
Again it is much time consuming and some parts are really a challenge. Young players, be careful not to compromise you future.
Thank you so much to everybody.

In general I liked the story. Certain quests is not finished, such as the stolen shield οf the mayor. When the heck will show the thief; I am tired to wait in the inn! I advise you play the game with a rogue character! _________________________ Everything you do has a meaning...
I am only starting these mods and this is the first one I have downloaded. It's been a long time since I played NWN but I am hankering for nostalgia and, though I have only started this module, I am looking forward to how I progress. _________________________

Yay Panda!
I almost didn't even bother trying this because of the "less than 1" gameplay hours.
But because someone recommended this module I read the description in full and noticed the "100s of locations"... there is no way you could have 100s of locations and under 1 hour worth of gameplay... so this is obviously a complete and serious module.
I suggest amending that part of the description.
anyways, I shall give it a try and vote when done. _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!

*Clap clap clap*
We need more modules like this. The author had attention to detail when the mod was being made, and it shows. Sure, the story and quests are standard fare, but it was immerse enough that I didn't mind.
One tip I would give new players, is that you absolutely do not need to fight every battle. In fact, I was playing as a fighter and trying to leap into every fight headfirst. I died quite a bit. Then I changed tactics and just popped potions of invisibility to sneak around, only fighting bosses or encounters I knew I could handle. As it turned out, discretion like that was key to victory in this mod.

i had a doubt about the loban shield quest...im suposed to wait inside the inn or outside to see the dude see the dog ? if the dude was the one resting in a room..i think i killed him :/ there's a solution for it ?

I find it rather hard to rate this module. On one hand it's a very polished modules which the author obviously had put in a lot of efforts. On the other hand I cannot honestly say I'm intrigued by the plot or writing, and there are quite a few annoyances in the modules that prevent me from having fun in the fullest. Ok let's break it down a bit.
The writing is alright, if a bit stiffed and robotic. (for example I lost count how many "I fear blah blah blah..." is used multiple times in many of the conversations)It is certainly not bad, far from it, but there is nothing enticing. I find myself skipping most of the dialogs. Good thing is the journal entries are detailed enough so you don't lose any important information.
The plot and story I have to say is nothing interesting. It doesn't draw me at all. Again, it's not illogical or bad, just pretty standard and predictable.
The side quests have quality, but once again not good, not bad, just standard... kill bandits, find lost item, clearing caves and mines etc. Some quests as well as the puzzles feel very similar to adventure games. Can't say I like this style, but it's simply my preferences.
Combat and dungeoneering is what this mod excels at. Enemies are well balanced. Battles often require intelligent planning. The author has made sure the battles are fun. Custom items are well designed and of course the runes system is intersting and is perhaps the strongest aspect of this mod.
I like this modules for its dungeon crawling, but I find myself distracted by the rather bland side quests. There are a lot of backtrackings which I eventually lost patience for.I had to use debugmode goto function to get around it. It sort of feels like TOEE Hommlet quests deja-vu again. I wish I could skip them and just get on with it. To summarize while the plot and quests are pretty standard, it is one of the better modules out there if you are looking for quality H&S.

I'm on my long overdue voting-rampage, so here's my opinion on this module, allthough probably no one cares anymore ;).
I remember this one as one of the best modules I played so far. It doesn't stick out as anything special in terms of setting and story, but it's well made, well thought through and does capture the feeling of a good old d&d session very well I think. There are no bugs worth mentioning (at least not for me), there are no annoying parts (at least not for me) and it's very well balanced (at least... well, you get the picture ;)).
Leaves me only to say: thank you for submitting this one and sacraficing your free time for the enjoyment of other people :).

I think the game is solid and ok. But somehow the pacing is not quite instead and there are quite a lot moments which unfornately I was bored.

SPOILERS!!!
I gave this module a 9.25.
You can see there was a lot of effort put into this,a LOT of effort.Previous comments told that the module had"logic defying puzzles" and things like that, that is not the case,i did not have to refer to a walkthrough except for the serpent key issue.(which was horrible indeed).
-Teleporters were awesome
-Puzzles made you actually think a little
-Excelent Enchanting System
So..
Pros
-Excelent weaving of the world's history and geography
-The World Map screen really gave you a good perspective on the world you were adventuring in.
-Really well thought out main dungeons, especially tanorin hold.
And now on to the bad stuff
-Too easy battles, apart from the Blood Lord almost everyone else was a pushover which really was a let down,my character was a rogue7/wizard7 character and my henchman was the dwarf.
-The end fights could have been a little more polished.
So all in all,i believe i should put an 8 on the module for the fun factor(due to the easy battles). But due to the amazing effort involved and the very good job the author did in making me want to save this world i finally put 9.25.
Cheers:)

I absolutely loved this module. I`m going to play it again soon (I finished it about 2 or 3 years ago) with a more feeble class. What I loved the most about this module, though, was the music! Don`t get me wrong, the whole thing is fantastic, but the music is so well put, that you actually feel like you`re there. This is definitely worthy of being an official campaign. Anyway, thanks for a wonderful mod.

Hi Wombat - really really enjoying the mod...not finished yet, but the details are great (I love the little touches...books and reading that means something etc).
I've got a problem with the Well. I've added a bunch of runes to my Armour of the Stars, but unlike my previous armour, the Wells eats my armour without giving any of my stones back. Tried everything, but won't work. Am I missing something? Is this a prob with this particular armour? If it can't be fixed, are there spawn item codes for all the runestones, so that I can spawnitem my way through this problem?
Thanks so much for a great story!

Victory is sweet, I have to applaud your mastery and revise my vote. I think I can do that.
I think that this module is a must to play for anyone but it does need patience and a lot of searching and tons of reading.
I read all the posts, think that is why I became a little jaded but this has truly passed and those who have commented adversely simply do not know what they have missed.
Only time my system crashed was while the credits at the very end were playing.
I did miss a few things and I did have the option to go back before I stepped into the final battle but I will replay again forewarned and forearmed.
My Char was exported safely, does that mean a sequel?
Thanks again for the emotional roller coaster and the euphoria I am now feeling.
Best regards

I cooled my heels and had some sleep and today refreshed I decided to have another lash at gaining access to Valion's Crypt and surprised the hell out of myself by doing just that although his actual tomb remains stubbornly locked.
It seemed to flow from there and I am now holed up in an inn in Belworth!
Jeez I feel really low as for criticisms I made previously and ...all that, and I have to say that this is the most difficult mod I have ever played, so complex but there are no bugs, if something doesn't work it is because you the player haven't seen how or missed a Lot of obscure clues or not read all the book and signs.
When I get back to Greenberry Village I will ask the priestess for atonement!

The puzzles have just gone over the top, there is no bloody way I can figure the island out, I have read all the books spent roughly 3 days on this and I am not putting myself through this mental anguish any longer.
You say shoot the lever from the gap! Where do you stand?? Could not see any lever from either side of Belworth Field. And how do you obtain a summons from the the forger in Belworth when you can't get in the main gate.So I did not do this before I went through the Bog and to the Island of Keriades.
I was trying to figure out where the Starlight Spirit was was gonna come from, now I shopped with Pelides on the dock at Onedos and that was not an option there in fact he only really had a few potions that were of any value to me after dicing with all the trolls, so when the offer came to shop with him again on Keriades he has magically upgraded his wares! grr talk about devious. Having to go all the way back just flipped me out.
challenging
If you were trying to to make a "King of Puzzles" game , you succeeded admirably, just one too many specific keys that were not keys, just a order of preference to make it work ,so why not say a task is involved instead of this key nowhere to be found thing.
Not everyone is a rocket scientist closely guarding the Gates of Misdirection.
From all the posts many players have been stumped and seriously frustrated.
Sorry, I love crossword puzzles but detest Sudoku and permutations with numbers.
Hell, I have a job to to remember my own number codes, much prefer letters and words.
Can you just ease off the puzzle difficulty a bit?
Now that I have vented, and cooled a tad, it would be totally unfair to all, who should play this mod, to dock you for what I see is tantamount to mental cruelty in puzzle difficulty.
Down but not out totally yet.
Funny, in my youth patience was mine and total intolerance ruled, now I am older the reverse is true. _________________________ micon

Feel so stupid, got the answer staring me in the face with a walkthrough that I completely missed.
About using the runes on weapons: Used the runes (3) individually on my Kama +2, according to Examine, all went ok I get enhancements ,plus positive energy damage! Great, however the the name still says kama +2 , that did change, I just hope that it's effectiveness does.
what's in a name afterall.
it's just that in another mod the name did change with the enhancement.
what a great mod, the scope is huge.Really gets you thinking and its easy to miss a blank book on a pedestal.
sincerest apologies.

Q: I can't get past the Hall of the Test 'Chessboard' puzzle!
A: When you entered the Hall of the Test, there was a pedestal just west of the entrance. On it you should find a book that, once placed on the bookstand, provides a clue on how to navigate the chessboard...........
--------------------------------
What if there is not a book on the pedestal? Well there was not for me and I spent an hour trying everything, hate to give up but I cannot get past this.

Excellent mod, obviously tons of work.
SPOILER:
Less-than-perfect mark given because of the large amount of pointless running.
One of the top five NWN mods. If you are looking for a mod that allows you to do something that is non-trivial other than 'saving the world' for the four-thousandth time, this is for you. I honestly don't understand why more MODs that allow the player to play the role a fictional leadership exist; this MOD does that and does it well. Generally the MOD uses underutilized premises and uses and develops them well.

This module probably deserves higher rating unfortunately the lack of fun I had is how i base my scoring. After a day worth of playing it was frustration after frustation. Not everyone locks all their doors. if im working my way through a high level mages tower. yes i get it. goblins and prison guards? little much. resting. so......... basically never happened. and while your d&d game has no problem with not resting inside the dungeons they dont actually hoof it... they say to you im going to town and going to sleep. pause 2 seconds. now im going back in the dungeon. instead im blessed with the luxury of running 3 maps getting rest and running 3 more maps. which reminds me about death. in death you can rest yay!!! oh wait now i got to run through the abyss that appears randomly in the map and try to avoid the exp sucking shadows. my kingdom for a prc teleport. then when i come back to being alive i start right where i last died and die again fun more running. btw why do the items break when i bash it. yes yes i know technically im damaging the chests but i would be using my brain when i have no lock picking skills. things like crowbars, a concentrated ice spell on the lock, gaseous forming your familiar with a light spell on it are possible ways to open said chest . dont punnish me because the game only gives me the option to bash the box. your not adding realism your ruining my fun. btw why am i being hit with at 70+ damage acid attack at level 4? 2nd floor of the cave in the first town with the bandits in it i went from full to 0 in 1 second. your encounter with the bandits on the toll road wasnt much better but me and my friend survived that barely.
now to be fair i will make some admissions i do like the bar where you can try to persuade, intimidate, or straight out pay for information. and while the d20 game wasn't favoring the house it was fun nonetheless. it seems so far that the world gives you some opportunities to roleplay interact and make a difference in the world. but please dont make it at the cost of 70% of my time im running in some fashion to revive myself or for rest. like i said im rating this on fun therefore 1.

A superb module, amongst the best dozen or so.
Best suited for a melee (capable) class, given how you'll need to be able to whack opponents with melee weapons at times. (I had hard, but manageable ending with my char).
Great storyline, plenty of roleplaying options, neat puzzles, well crafted areas, memorable characters, inventive unique items. Pretty much professional quality complete package.
Played this with an elven druid/shifter/ranger (first time trying out a shifter, a crappy class), and found quite a few opportunities to use the availlable skillsets, particularly animal empathy.

This mod had some unique features and the items encountered in the game weren't just random but had good reasons to be there. The romance didn't seem to pan out, but there were other romance options, so I might play it again and see what happens.

I really wanted to like this module. The storyline was well laid out, there were a lot of great sidequests and there were plenty of puzzles and other challenges. The problem is it just wasn't very fun.
I really never had a good time playing this module. From the annoyance having to search a body in the first room for a quest later on to the strange dialogs in some parts, it was one frustration after another.
To wit
1. Searching a body in the first room for a quest later on in the module is bizarre.
2. The battles in the great tree were among the most tedious and boring I have ever had in a NWN module.
3. Companions drank potions when they were sitting at about 90% health.
4. Some odd dialogs (especially in the temple of the mists).
These would not be so bad of course if they were not combined with some of the most mind-numbing battles and logic-defying puzzles ever seen.
The respawning was terrible. Absolutely awful. Coming out of the cave swamp then getting attacked by the same beetles and basilisk as I fought coming in? Give me a break. Trolls everywhere. Harpies appearing out of nowhere. The same gnolls ad nauseum. The same boring battles over and over again. It's one thing to have a good story, but when the battles are one series of fights against respawns after another, it gets to be too much.
As far as the quests, the entire thing played like one of those 80s adventures like king's quest. I have never had to refer to a walkthrough (which was terribly put together) as much as I did in this module. It got to the point of unplayability. Leading monsters in the warm cave to the door so it opens? Come on.
Story - Great
Combat - Fun for some boss fights. Absolutely unbearable in general.
