Fought my way down through the bugs to the factory, but something went wrong, no closure on this section. I killed everything, but no destruct sequence, no update on the journal. Is there a script to launch the next phase?
I'd appreciate any help I can get here.
Thanx~

Just as sloppily done as the first.
Too many loose ends and had to use the console to jump to places.
A great story with bad scripting. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

More confusing then the first, never figured out what to do about the three houses or whether there was any point to them at all. Not sure what this module is about. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.

My comments are for the trilogy collectively. It is difficult to write a campaign for a higher level character. By varying the style, tempo, and content of each, I believe the author has created a superior campaign. Other than a few idiosyncrasies caused by malfunctioning scripts, I can find no fault with this campaign over than a few, purely personal wishes as to content. And I suspect most of those will be addressed in Chapter 4 wherein, I assume, a new house will be established in the Baron's old homeland and perhaps even a touch of romance will be found (no romantic interest was the main personal lack I found for myself). I sincerely hope we will not have to wait much longer for it to be released.

Ok, I am stuck.
Visited the hidden valley, proving grounds. Understand this will be expanded in the next mod.
But what I am supposed to do now, visited the other island (assume this is optional).
Visted all the areas I had seen in the first mod, mine, fields, maze etc.
Entered the prison area, killed spiders. Is there supposed to be an exit from the prison? The place where the spiders are coming in? Do you need a high search to find it?
Any ideas where to go to next? Do Ineed a specific henchman with me?

Excellent story. No documentation. A bit tedious at time.

How to enter in prison

Solid, though I agree with the others on spider monotony and grating noise. The factory warthings are pretty nice though.
Well, I'm part way thru Part 2, and I;m beginning to regret playing this series, just having completed the "Eye of the Beholder" 12-level of many spider's" mod, which was quite good in its own right. But I didn't expect to jump right from there into this realm of auto-spiders, which are, at times difficult when caught in a tight spot, and virtually worthless EXP-wise.
The constant "rat-tat-tat" of the constructs is drivingme crazy!!!
I've returned to the Skull King and returned the crown, and now I'm Under the Prison, hardly knowing where to turn...
If there was a walkthru, I need it NOW!

No serious downsides. Relatively well polished. Author can spell and uses pretty good grammar.
One note -- Safana keeps damaging allies, after which they turn around and kill her. Very irritating. Might as well take her along for the journey but dump her once you arrive. Most other henchmen have items of regeneration.
You're not stuck. That area was a taste of the planned Vol 4, which may be quite a ways off as I'm still trying to finish Chaos War Saga Chp 2.

Gard- Weak henchmen can be improved by giving them equipment, and the halfling is better off sniping from a distance. As for the Rez glitch, Jinx is Undead, so healing potions will screw him up, but I never had a problem rezzing them though. I'll look into it if I have time.

SPOILERS
Very enjoyable. A fair amount of hack-n-slash, but the spiders aren't too bad if you got some spells. Easy work for my Arcane Archer with Imbue Arrows. The henchmen are either way to powerful or pretty weak. Shakira and the little halfing dude died if I turned a corner too fast. Also maybe one glitch - is there a limit to the number of times the hench can be raised? I raised the skull and the halfling with Raise Dead rather than the resurrection rods, and they wouldn't rejoin me - just gave a floating comment.

Was actually pleasantly surprised after reading comments - the spiders were less tedious to me than the goblins in BS1. Interesting side quests w/some story behind them. Nice variety of areas.

Spoilers/Not quite Bug
When you optionally return to Shazzerath and finally kill that Skull King, you get his crown. It says that you should give it to Aldo. But Aldo leaves the minute the bug situation is cleared up. So if you deal with the bugs first which of course makes sense, then you miss out on that. What I suggest is either having Aldo stick around at the end so the crown can be given or have it possible in Blacksteel 3 to turn it over. The reason I am commenting on this is the author at the end of both Blacksteel 1&2 repeatedly suggests that we go forth and explore to make sure we didn't miss anything. Well it would be nice when we follow the advice to be suitably rewarded. _________________________ Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.

Like the first, a good ride. Also unfortunately like the first, there are some bugs and incongruities. Still I enjoyed this quite a bit. _________________________ Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.

Each of the modules in this series has a certain theme. The first one was like a "Lost World" adventure; the second one was sorta action/sci-fi like "Aliens", and the third was a horror story with more mood than action.
Having said that, let me discuss my "Aliens" ripoff....ahem......homage.
I always wanted to use those mechanical spiders from the CEP, and this was my chance to do it in a realistic fashion. They're mass produced death machines that come in a variety of models and upgrades. Some people, like Ericdoman, understood what I was trying to do. For those who didn't, sorry to go all bug happy on ya! At least now it's mostly out of my system.......mostly.
And my man Ericdoman was right once again. The constant kobold thrall battle between the Houses was just meant as a taste of things to come if/when I begin work on Volume 4.
As for the death and dying rules, I used what should be the right script in the right place, and it STILL doesn't do what it's supposed to! I'm not an experienced scripter though, so until I can figure out what I'm doing wrong, there won't be any death penalties.
And finally, to answer your question ShrikeKnight, there IS an end to the spider attacks at the castle. If any of your soldiers survive the intitial attack(s), you have the option of sending them off the frontline for bonus experience. The trick is keeping them alive long enough to do it.
For those of you that could tolerate hordes of rampaging spiders, thanks for playing!

I got really bored to death by the density of population of the damned spiders. Still the series in itself looks interesting enough to play through and chp. 3 is much better. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

Again good dialogues and story but the combat lacks a little bit (too many spiders with immunity to critical hit and damage reduction - if you don´t have a weapon with additional elemental damage these battles are very, very tedious). It´s hard to keep the henchmen alive because they start with nearly no items and there aren´t many good items to be found, especially if you complete the main quest before completing the side quests.

Umm... Just out of curiosity, the constant spider raids, do they phase out after a while. I told the soldiers and Aldo to take a rest and was guarding the castle myself but I am wondering if there will be an end in sight. _________________________ Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.

I liked it even better than the first part. Could have been a little longer. The mechanical Spiders where a bit annoying, would have loved a little more variety.

Celticrose70, I had the same problem the first time I played you need to keep the key to the keep from chapter 1.
