Err, did I just write that for this one? Whoops... wrong module. >_

Again, solid and for once I enjoyed fighting, however the ambience could use a little more work. More tension, perhaps.

Awesome mods, the three of them. Found a gay bug though... Kind of Spoiler w/Bug Keeper Vendrush attacked me and I can't get the underworld essence because "the item can't be given to the player." Combat was unintentionally initiate because a skeleton chased me into the keep. And I saved after the fact. Help!

Ok, Soul Harvesters attacking BEFORE I get a weapon to do ANY damage at all, while they suck levels from me, as well as having NO PLACE TO REST EXCEPT inside the fortress, is a BIG NO-NO! I know where and how (roughly) to get said weapon, but I had to retreat before I got it because I was level-drained. This is not a good thing. Problems: With a Ranger/Rogue (12/7) and a small set of weapon/armour combos, having lost all companions but the skull and Sampson (very likely to die at any point), no where to rest, and attacked from any point by level-draining, untouchable undead, there's no way I can complete part 3 of this series. Another problem was with the elf ranger henchman: In part 3 he never followed any orders and never left the point of entry of any new area. He was useless, and then he died and I never found his remains, not that it mattered. Am I alone with these issues??? Anyone??? No serious downsides. Relatively well polished. Author can spell and uses pretty good grammar. One note -- Safana keeps damaging allies, after which they turn around and kill her. Very irritating. Might as well take her along for the journey but dump her once you arrive. Most other henchmen have items of regeneration.

Captivating, and properly encapsulated. I feel this set is one of the better stories to be had. Soul harvesters are pretty mean though. I mean, if they're so tough why's the baron such a two jabs to KO kinda guy? ;3 Anyway, you're right on with the ambience; Less combat, more suspense, good writing.

Bit better than previous two parts. Same problems, however. Also, at this moment I have something like 700000 gold pieces and nothing to spend tit on.

Lebowski- using Author search (BadMojo) used to work, but with the latest changes, I find myself just typing Chaos in the Title section and scrolling down until I find Chaos War Saga. Keep in mind though, it was my first mod so it's pretty rough around the edges. If I weren't so busy working on Chp 2, I'd go back and clean it up a little more.

Give us a link to Chaos War pt. I! I get it is completed but it's not listed under your submission and I can't find it. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested Contributor to Overlooked Module Reports An interview with me about NWN mods

After all the combat in Vol 2, I wanted to shift gears and make a creepy little horror story. It was waaaay too short in my opinion, but it was the story I wanted to tell. It wound up being more of an interlude with a couple of boss fights, but oh well. The series was meant to be a collection of short mods anyway, as opposed to the epic Chaos War Saga im trying to finish. The problem with creating suspense in a fantasy setting is that the hero is far from defenseless. How can you fear the Boogeyman when you're wearing Holy Plate Mail +5 and wielding the Flaming Longsword of Multiple Ouchies? Here's how I tried it... ***SPOILERS*** First you get the player familiar with his surroundings (Vol 1 and 2), then change the mood (constant darkness, natural sounds replaced with an eerie one, lack of npcs and hostiles, etc). Second, you slow down the pace. Constant combat takes away the suspense, so I opted for a Hide and Seek style of gaming. Works for some, not for others. Finally, you need the Boogeyman. As I said before, it's hard to scare a player whose character is probably tough enough to take it out head on or with henchmen. But what if you discovered the Boogeyman couldn't be killed with any weapon you possessed? The rules have suddenly changed, and now you must avoid the spectral evil until you obtain the one weapon that will defeat them. That was how it was intended at any rate.... I knew some would like it, and others would hate it. You can't please everybody. If I ever start work on Vol 4, the name of the game will be intrigue. Plotting, assassinations, double dealing, back stabbing, that sort of thing. Some will like the style, others won't. Again, you can't please everybody. Lebowski- I thought about making the final boss tougher, but whenever you do that, you risk making it too tough for characters that aren't tanks or otherwise combat oriented. I might go back and tweak it again though if the majority agree that he needs boosting. Johnbailiol- I'm glad you added that "yawn" at the end of your little tirade. I wasn't quite sure what you were implying... :P To those who like the series so far, thanks for your support. It motivates me to continue working on mods and improving my skills. That really means alot to me. I just hope I can release Blacksteel 4 and/or Chaos War 2 before NWN2 comes out and I have to start all over again with a new toolset....
