The city Ildara. It is a place on a different world than Toril. It's got its own history and legends, many of those
can be found in the books. All the items of the official
campaign have been rewritten.
Other places in this module are the Unrak Mountains, the
village Ferndale and the Forests of Ildara.
In later modules of the series you'll be able to visit more
places like Tardok, Winterwood or the dwarven stronghold Damagard.
Gameplay Length
There are about 40 quests and lots of regions to explore, so it will take many hours to complete the module.

This is a single player module, though people who played the old german version of this module told me it's also playable as a multi-player module.

Description
This is a bi-lingual module. You can play it in English or German. The module has a setting of its own. The city Ildara is no place on Toril.
The citizen of Ildara have no idea that a sinister sect is threatening their peaceful lifes.
The informants of the duke tried to find out more about the threat, but all their attempts
were in vain.
Now someone has to find a group of ten famous adventurers who have retired and live in Ildara.
Your goal is to reunite them and make them help you avert the danger and destroy the sect.
There are seven different henchmen, a new prestige class and about 40 quests to solve.
Are you going to update your mod? I will then wait for it! CEP seems to have pretty nice tilesets with even the orginal ones made better. There is also Chicq remake of all standard bioware tilesets and CTP. Good luck! _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)
Thanks, I will try one more time to download the files, otherwise I will wait for the newer version. Appreciate a heads up when it is available for download, if you can. Cheers.
Wolfwriter, I don't have this version of the module any more. I am working on a new version where all the areas will look different because I will use new tilesets (which I am also making myself, so it's taking some time).
If you still want to play this, you could wait until I finished the new version, or if you want it soon, I could download this version and then re-pack it and upload it again.
I have tried to play this several times and it will not load. I am getting an error message the says the "nwcontinst.exe" file is corrupt. Please check into this so that I can finally play this module as it really looks interesting. Thanks.

I actually liked the fast level up at start - got lots of chars of different classes doing that - so now I have an army of fairly low level chars that I can stick in a mod I am creating - so it is a useful see what happens sort of tool?
Some/several irritations because some things have to be done in a certain order for quests to trigger ect?
Did suffer from several crashes though especially at start of mod.
No romances for female chars????
The ending was really naff though - a shame after all the work that has obviously gone into this mod?
With just a few touches to tidy up mod and it could become a HoF epic??If an update or a follow up happens then I might play it again??

Great mod. Ok, there were a few things that made me really mad while I was playing, but now, looking back, those problems were caused by my own behavior and not by the mod.
The romance was a bit too short. I would be really happy to see a sequel.

I really enjoyed this module. It has some problems, like some dialogs, books, descriptions left in German but that's just nit-picking. I really liked the puzzles and the majority of the sub-quests. Each henchman has his own unique quest. The battles were balanced enough for my wizard. I see that most of the players complain about the academy training and I have to agree. It would had made more sense if you just begin the game at level 3 or 4 but that's another minor gripe from my part and nothing more. Overall a really enjoyable module. Sadly, overlooked. I only wish the author would consider continuing the story. It's really promising. Well done!

Let's see... teleport to city, then wander around aimlessly, getting nothing better from the inhabitants than "Go to the Academy". Once there, talk to dwarf, then get killed by the first thing you come across. Repeat.

Very challenging. When will there be a sequel? Please let me know. Thanks!
What is the point of the academy training, except getting level 1 characters killed on minotaurs and mephits ? Why not level up to 3 or whatever, and have the "real" story going ?
I don't get it. I didn't like it either, and I regret trying this module as one of the "overlooked" modules.

A very enjoyable module.
On the good side,
1. lots of quests
2. Fast experience
On the not quite so good side
1. Some quests seem unsolvable if not done in the right order
2. Very little guidance. Say you keep getting word from your mentor that says "Go to the academy first" then later, "Find Bendor" etc.

Spoilers:
minor problem:
Where is that special beggar for the 3rd quest? I keep wandering and only see the 2 near the city watch.

This was a very fun module to play, though I still found some German dialog lingering about. The module does have a main quest with many side quests and with some different with each henchmen you take. Though I agree with some of the comments, like the training academy, the rest of the module is quite interesting to play.
I Started this module a while back, but ran into a couple of road blocks, because I tried to go through the module with a walk-through aid. Therefore many of the quest could not be completed. I re-started the module, translated that long German walk-through document (a real problem.. note the link) and was able to complete almost all the side quest, though some of the document did not translate well, I had to feel my way.
Though everything inbetween was a fun adventure, the end was a little disappointing for I wanted a large piece of the action, which at the end is certainly lacking for the character.
I give it this score for the story, everything between the beginning and the end and the encouragement for the author to improve and continue such fine work.
I enjoyed it. Good Work!! _________________________ MrMadmacs
I got on the boat with captain Blake and I just end up sitting there with a bunch of corpses. Is that the end of the mod? It says it's loading a new module.

Just started the module. Finished 1st & 2nd Trials. I can't find the third. By the postings I think I'm looking for a beggar, however I tried talking to all the beggars I can find around the city and nothing happens. Is there another hidden somewhere? Need Help to move on. _________________________ MrMadmacs

Enjoyed this huge and complex setting with with 2 different henchman & PC combinations so far. Yes there is still a little german around in dialogs (Dukes secretary & Darias after quest banter come to mind) and a few item descriptions but not enough to take the fun out of the story. Simple translation would not have served all the dialog here, thanks for re-writing in english so all those henchman reactions & interactons kept me immersed in Ildara. Thanks again for the incredible amount of work that went to make this module (twice over)!

You are right about facing the 4 pixies BUT before opening gates pick up a few free levels buy hitting dummies or using archer target. Depends on what class you are. FTR/Barb/Rgr? 2nd or 3rd lvl others 3rd or 4th (Spellcasters might be worth having a summon creature spel or 2). Druids and animal companion (dire wolf) will find it reasonably easy.
There are a number of faults but overall it is better than most mods. So be patient and persevere

Wow! That was a lot of fun.
If you enjoy freeform exploration in a city, then this module is for you. There are tons of quests, good role-playing options and many secrets to find.
The module isn't perfect, however. The beginning, as many posters pointed out, lacks focus. Some quests can't be completed if you do things out of order, and the camera angles and movement in cutscenes just left me confused as to what had happened. I'm inclined to forgive these mistakes however, given the sheer amount of work that's obviously gone into this module. Some extra attention to quality control can definitely make this a Hall of Fame contender.
Good stuff!

the game is lack of focus, there is no clear instruction of what you need to do at the beginning. the academy is a messed. level 1 fighting 4 pixies! you are gotta be kidding me. Instant death and you cannot escape. there is no indication of danger at all the dwarf just tell u go walk into a room and close the gate. and the repetitive task to train to level 3 is rediculous, it works fine for a PW or MMO but for a single player? NO! Sorry I have to spend my time more wisely than this. a 6/10 for the obvious efforts put into this module.
I am going to get Nerina where I left her in Fernwood and it goes to a cutscene and I get tranported to the netherhells. When I come out of the netherhells everyone attacks me. Is this correct or a defect?
Hello !
I have found 9 of the 10 heroes of Ildara, but I can't find Eliria. Where is she ? _________________________ Hinault

Not bad at all. MANY quests, some nice ideas, some good humor and quite OK henchmen.
The beginning and ending both are a bit weak though, the cheesy levelup academy in the beginning could just be skipped and the player told to start at level 4. ;-)
The ending feels a bit rushed and anticlimactic, and worst of all, it's basically just the PC watching the show...
And also, with the many, many quest open at once, the journal system would need a major overhaul. In many cases, if you did some thing inbetween, the most essential info (Who, where, what, how?) is simply absent and you have to run around for hours trying to find the quest giver or the pace where to continue.
A few minor glitches, but nothing serious and some threads left hanging, but nothing serious. Fun module. _________________________ With magic, you can turn a frog into a prince...

Finished it a while back and had a great time. So many sub quests to do and the walkthrough was a huge help BUT it would have been better if the author was available to help through email if necessary. When you read the walkthrough to find out how to solve your problem you will glimpse other clues/answers which then gives the game away slightly.
Overall though this a VG mod and deserves more attention
Cheers

I.m a little bit stuck.
Trying to find court mage?
Bendok can not wake hime.
Find a book for the librarian
Vampires ashes, how do I reach him
When you enter large room in mages guild. Movie as a mage kills a rat but it sticks?
Great fun though. Love the puzzles, sub quests etc. Combats were difficut at beginning (by the way can't you just continually hit dummy or archer target forever to gain xp) Raeched 4th lvl this way and killing creatures in cells (although dwarf and other training men would kill them as well)
Cheers
