Description
The end is near! Having destroyed the Giant alliance and discovering Lolth, Queen of the Drow was behind it all you now follow her to her own Plane to destroy her once and for all. It will be no easy task to walk the chaos webs of Lolths Plane and it will be no small task to slay her for she is not just powerful, she is a Goddess!
This module ends a 7 module storyline that has taken me well over a year to complete. I hope it is a fitting climax to those who have stayed with me through that time and those that d/load them in future.
Requires the 2 included Hak Paks (to be placed in the Hak folder of your NWN directory)
Latest: An optional 8th module that continues the story is now posted. The mod is not a PnP conversion but my own storyline. It can be found here: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.Detail&id=4965
This is actually a vote for this mod, but I'll go back through g1-d3 and give individual votes (higher, actually) for those as well. Wanted to play the whole thing before voting. But I wanted to give comments overall here. And, yes, I will check out q2 next (downloading haks right now). The whole series was enjoyable, though I typically prefer more rp. I soloed with no hirelings as a rogue/fighter/shadowdancer. I picked rapier proficiency/spec/crit, and unfortunately found no magic rapiers until Kuo toans (minor gripe). Still, Hide in Plain Sight makes short work of giants. Having greater brawler's belt (and the archer and sowrdsman, for later mods) available from the get-go makes combat a bit easy. Still, I did like the series and enjoyed the "role-play by action" feel you described of your players' styles. Specifically on this mod, though, I had a few issues. XP from drider chiefs (I was level 18 until the very end) varied from zero (demonweb 1) to 240 typically, with 2 of them yielding 2160. None was appreciably more difficult. After killing cleric (welm?), I freed the were-prisoner ladies, but there was a scripting error of some kind and Laura did not go hostile. I talked to her again and closed and reopened the cell again, and then she got red. Factions: when I entered Caer whats-it, the animals were hostile. Character's a sneak and stab, no area of effect spells to induce faction problems, so I don't know. Ended up killing the skunk. Later, when I entered the Peacetalkers, they were (no pun intended) all hostile already as well. Gypsy female (thief store in frozen lands) also hostile on entry, as was Tobin in home store at end. In Hall of Opposition, I spawned a double who attacked but never went hostile (again, a script erro showed in the status window). Possibly the hardest fight of the mod, except I could switch to the proper weapon/belt and use healing potions. No XP, though. Finally, on Lolth: she never used her flail, just tried to beat me with her fists. Thus, she--like the fire giants in the rest of the mods--provoked lots of attacks of opportunity, hastening her inevitable demise. She also used her heal spells on some of her spider friends, again hastening the inevitable. With the grater brawler belt and low regen, though, I just had to outlast her (and avoid falling asleep, both me and the PC). And a rather boring if long fight was rewarded with 105600 xp! Highest reward elsewhere had been four thousand or so for Vlad. I used Debug Mode to adjust myself down to a 5600 reward. Even with the flail, though, I think the brawlers belt makes this a fairly unchallenging fight. Also, I got a scripting error on killing the labyrinth spider queen, and no XP. Finally, I love the "personalized gifts you get in the mods, like the Drow necklace of greater health from the Drow city bar girl (Elrith, I think). I just wish that it (like the Pharisee mage's Rod of wonders) had something that made it a little different/better than the item you can buy in so many stores--maybe regen +2 or fort+2 or something. Appreciate the work and enjoyed the mods. Above are just observations to add some polish. Thanks for the work and on to q2.

Have you completed the subquest? SPOILER FOLLOWS You must take the prince through the passage in the trees after first destroying the Ice blocks. Once through there is a road into his armies camp. By following the road a few feet, you should trigger an event that will start a conversation and he should leave you. Sounds to me as if you have somehow missed the trigger point. Try walking up and down the road (just a short way) and hopefully you will activate the trigger. If he is not following from the start it is likely you have not destroyed the Ice blocks and returned to tell him the way is clear. Hope that helps. _________________________ Trev

A good conversion of a very disjointed mod - top work as usual

Recently finished this series over several evenings playing with a friend who originally DM'd the PNP versions of these mods 20 years ago. The names, places encounters brought back an awful lot of memories. Eclavdra didn't last anywhere near as long this time though! This isn't a criticism as its just how I like to play, but I thought we got too much XP too quickly - Personally I like mods where my characters gain a level once a mod, or maybe more if its a really long more. In these mods we really seemed to race through the levels rather than having to work for them as we used to in the old PNP versions of these mods. However, I appreciate that other players see gaining a level as somthing that should happen every hour or so of playing time - different strokes eh? Overall, we had a great time playing your versions of these mods - good work thanks for putting the time into making them so much fun. _________________________ Finding creative uses for DD spells since 1983

Your PnP conversions are the best, hands down!

perrinmiller, thanks for the comments (and your vote :) ) There was definitely no intention to award so many xps at the end so sorry for not being able to do the next mod. Up to now the mods have been all straight conversions and as such had a lot of encounters that were very easy. There are considerably less such encounters in "Lolths revenge" so you might still want to give it a go. I will hopefully have a patched version up soon possibly not hard core rules either. Real life however is delaying this :( _________________________ Trev
