Hey that was the area that I designed, initially. Just re-installed NWN1 recently after being disappointed by the sequel. Just stumbled upon this and thought I'd resurrect since last post was in 2006. Is Midgard v3 hosted anywhere nowadays? Or did a NWN2 version ever come about?

Ok, It's not Midgard - It's CEP - Sorry all. My Linux Dedicated server will not run CEP modules.

If I could get this to run, I'd probably vote. Seeing as I've wasted over 5 hours trying everything I found on the forums to try to get problematic modules running, I'm about to give up. I've gotten another PW (Rhun) to run stable, but I can't get ANY of the Midgards to work, and this is the one I really want to try.

Help?!?

excelent work had same leader only problem had to rebuild on save for patch erf to take no works beautifully

Greetings everyone,

I will be releasing an update package for v3 soon. The package will contain updated monsters, areas and possibly some scripts. From my own experiences playing and the response from others, some monsters are going to be strengthened and others thinned. No worries if you�ve remade or worked hard on some part of the module. The package will be an import, not a complete module so that hopefully it minimizes any ripples.

Midgard v3 was rebuilt, revamped and reborn from my hard work. I had almost no help from anyone. I thank Lala for the use of his monsters and related areas . Voodoo is thanked for the use of his scripts even though he was extremely unhelpful about the work that I was doing. It's unsurprising that he has returned to attempt to ride on my original work and offer to script when he dropped Midgard like a hot potatoe. I suppose its just in his nature. I am very glad that I was able to rescue Midgard v2 from the wastebin. I still remember him washing his hands of Midgard, giving up on the entire NWN game.

There are very few areas left over from the original v2 version of Midgard. The area names are left as a remembrance of the people who created the original towns, but the areas themselves are completely revamped. The only areas that have barely been touched are the Kadingir island and related areas. Opywann deserves an award for his hard work negotiating with Voodoo and dealing with everything in v2. Everything has been looked at and rebuilt in v3. I do want to thank the people who worked hard on the v2 version. There is so much that is changed completely and the original was so long ago that area specifics are wiped. A general thanks is in order for the inspiration in my work :)

For the history of the module, Midgard v2 was a start over, a complete wipe of v1. A fresh, bold new start that used nothing of v1 unless I�m completely mistaken. V2 was worked on by a bunch of people. The project got sidelined and grounded after a while. Even I gave up on it after the lack of interest shown by everyone. However, my thoughts often returned to the fun that v1 once was. I then volunteered to remake v2 into my own module and allow others to see my hard work. :) I worked very hard on my own to provide this world for you to enjoy.

As for the official script, there was very little wrong with the original experience script so I can see how Voodoo would think his version is similar. Especially since my version was originally based off of the v2 version. There are only so many ways to code a script and get it to work. I thank Voodoo for his jump to pay attention after all the time I had to work on Midgard on my own without any help.

Good day,

Firstly, I'd just like to say that the Offical script that has been made available is the one I wrote two days ago and made available on the website. This script was requested by two people whom intend on running Midgard v3 on their own servers, DamianX and Tossica. DamianX has specifically requested for me to write a script to combine the town portal potion and party potion into a single item which also adds the ability to create a portal between site used and bound town. These changes are not meant to be included with the Offical v3 download but are instead made available to those that wish to run this version of Midgard and wish to have certain things enhanced.

Speaking of Midgard creation... A bit of enlightenment is very necessary at this time. Midgard was first created by me in November 2002. This is the version I like to call Midgard v1. After running for about a year and a half, many of the players and myself decided to create a new module named Midgard v2. This module was HUGE but the first bit of it to be finished was the Half-Orc portion called Kleinstadt (sound familier). That portion of the module was done by Oddity. After the half orcs came gnomes which were created by Opywann. Following them was the Elves created by Westclox, two times (he messed up the first time). Then was the Halflings by Kevin. That left the Humans which ultimately was done by nobody. See, during the process of creating Midgard v2, many of the initial developers had moved on to other things. This left me, Voodoo, and Opywann at the helm of bringing this now giant module to life. We did it for the most part all the way up until the release of World of Warcraft. Midgard v2 by this time had worn us out after having worked on it for the better part of almost a year and a half. Towards the end of this process, Camet (whom was creating the Half-Elves) returned and stated her realm was finished. I informed her that our interest in doing Midgard v2 anymore had gone but I would gladly hand v2 over to her and she could opt to rename it v3 since she would get the job of cleaning it all up, sliming it down and finally making it alot smaller than its original huge size. I had said to her at first that I would be able to host it, but unfortunately I had taken a brand new job as an IT Director and my time was eatin' up quickly. I went back and forth with being able to host Midgard v3 for Camet and ultimately found that I could not. Camet took this as an insult and informed me that when she was done with v3, she would post it on NWVault. I told her that it was a great idea and that the world ought to see Midgard v3 when its finally cleaned up. I did also tell her to be sure to include the Credits I had which shown who had worked on what with regards to Midgard v2/v3.

That is the story of the development of Midgard v3. I am absolutely willing to help anyone who decides to host Midgard v3 but will be working with any of you that intend to do this directly. I do not wish to have my scripts included with this posting of Midgard v3 which Camet claims to be entirely her own. This is absolutely and entirely untrue.

I'm glad to hear that people are enjoying my gameworld. It is very nice to be appreciated for the long lone hours I have worked on Midgard v3. I am glad to hear that people are reporting bugs.

It is interesting to hear from Voodoo after his long over a year absense and disinterest in Midgard for NWN. I do not guarentee or encourage the usage of Voodoo's scripts as I was not consulted in any scripting.

His assistance is not required, requested, or needed for any further development of Midgard v3. I was handed the bare bones of midgard v2 and fashioned my own complete world using a few edited scripts. It is interesting
to see Voodoo's fast return after I have finished Midgard v3 completely on my own and uploaded it to the web. Especially the fast responses to bugs when he was unavailable or unhelpful for many of my questions in the developement of Midgard_v3. If Voodoo wishes to make any changes to my gameworld, he can download and change his own copy. This is my world of my own hard work.

The Official version of the Experience Script is now available from this location. I thank you for the reporting of that bug. The official version was scripted and tested thanks to the generous help of DamianX who tested the script and also is hosting a persistent version of Midgard v3 for all to enjoy. Any further Official changes or add ons to Midgard v3 will be reported by me and available from here for downloading.

I encourage people to try Midgard v3 for themselves. The reason I uploaded Midgard v3 to the web was for other people's enjoyment. I also uploaded Midgard v3 to the web for others to take on the challenge and make it their own. It requires a lot of time and different scenerios to make a completely balanced world. I am continuing to develop Midgard v3 as my own playing experiences and other people's feedback provide information for improvement.

Midgard v3 is a difficult world to play, and it probably still has a few bugs or unbalanced monsters. Please feel free to email me or comment on these boards or the official website.

Midgard v3 was not built for powergaming. To this end, there are only up to +5 weaponry available, although you may get up to 5 or so attributes on that weapon. However, if you wish to change the world to your own playing style please go ahead. I encourage people to take up the challenge that is Midgard v3 and make it their own.

Ok, I got the teleport to town and teleport to party working on the skull. Still have to get the teleport to respawn statue working and then I will update the ftp server.

In the toolset, open the module and then go to File and Import. Select those two erf files to import and tell it to overwrite. After the imports are done, save the module and you are good to go.

Hi! Ok, I have added and updated. You can download the following two items...

New player transport system - Unified the party & town portal potions into one item called the Voodoo Skull. You will have to add this item to vendors, it is located under misc and then other... You will also need to add town binding statue called Statue of Heim to wherever you would like to give players the ability to create two way town portals.

Yes. I'm positive. We did some experimenting and passed group leadership to different players. If you are the leader, you get XP, noone else in group does. You get a yellow message summary of the kill but no XP value.

That is a good question. Are you positive that there is no XP change on the other party members when a kill happens? If you can absolutely verify I'll have a look at the XP script and fix it. I'll also be working on a unified party, respawn & town potion or whatever item and posting that tonight.

I would Love to see Midgar have some added Content.. Such as Persistant Charater Chests.. The Legendary Leveler System... The Addon for HunterAP's Housing & Property System..Or something similar. Also add An Epic Char and Weapons System...

You can use the banking system without downloading the bank vault files. You have to edit nwn.ini to tell the server where to store the database files is all. The module creates the necessary files on its own as long as the directory listed in nwn.ini is correct. The bank system uses the client's cdkey to access bank vault information.

Thanks for your interest in Midgard v3. I updated the map links so maps can now be downloaded. The information file has also been updated to vers. 3. I am looking into the bank files. It is a possibility that the file is not needed. It would be a help if anyone can try the module's banking system without downloading that file and inform me of the results.

So far this is a lot of fun! The links to the mod, the .doc file and the Bank files are fine, but all the map file links are broken. The spreadsheet link works, but I dont have Quattro Pro... how about converting it to an Excel file?
On the Bank files in the ACE file... it unpacks to contain servervault files of many many characters. Why would these be required to get the Bank to work?

Tried to register for an account on your website (OmegaServer), sill havent received the confirmation email.

Thanks for looking into these things!
